This rating is based solely on principal. It has mostly to do with when Serrano's does Uber delivery. We have ordered Serrano is via Uber several times. Every time prior to tonight, I have requested extra salsa. The last time I requested extra salsa, someone message me back and said that they really can't do that/accommodate that unless we pay extra. So tonight when we ordered Serrano's via Uber, I specifically paid extra for salsa ($4.50/pint). However, knowing they always include chips and salsa with any order, I asked them to please include any salsa that they would normally include with any other order. Because we absolutely love their salsa and eat it on every bite. Not surprisingly, the food arrived and the only salsa that was included was the one that I paid for. No extras. On top of that the food was cold. We have given him multiple chances, and we won't go back... As far as ordering delivery. I guess we have to babysit them essentially. And show up ob-site to get what we want. Seems like a way of cutting corners to people that aren't actually there to complain. read more

The food was good, not the best but good enough . I had the chicken fajitas, my husband had the brisket enchiladas. Happy hour prices on drinks were good. Two things that could be easily improved 1) the bright lights and 2) music. The bright lights in the bar made it seem more like a cafeteria, not very comfortable for dinner, so we left right away. The food was ok. We went there for lunch and although they weren't really busy, the waitress seemed to be getting caught up taking care of more diners than others. However they have the biggest crispy tacos that I have ever seen, so that was a plus. The rest of the food was pretty bland, not seasoned very well. 3 enchilada meal but cheese was not enough for even one enchilada, but spread on on all 3. About inch on each end was overcooked corn tortilla with no cheese whatsoever and with what little cheese there was inside of each enchilada was as thick as the average pencil. Complained about it and for being charged for more than menu price, but they did not correct price. We will never be back; even though we live close to them. While the server, Patrick is doing an adequate job, we were greeted by a totally inhospitable host. The girl, with glasses, was yawning as though her job is boring her to years, and the attitude she showed towards my wife, my daughter and I was disgusting. We were an annoyance, and when we asked to sit at a booth instead of the table she was 'dumping' us at, the scornful look of hatred was enough to make even me, a restaurant manager of over 30 years comment about how horrible she is. Went in Friday evening and once I survived the parking lot fiasco and really enjoyed this place. The bar areas are very nice and open. The wait staff you can tell right away that they are new but in time they will pick it up. I wanted to rate this higher stars but then at some point you have to leave. What a let down. We were really happy to see them open in a location closer to where we live. Driving by after work we saw that the parking lot was full so we ordered it to go. ALWAYS check your order! We did not check to see if everything was in the bag and when we got home there were NO tortias or cheese for our Veggie fajitas for TWO. There was about a half a cup of lettuce and maybe a teaspoon of sour cream? The veggies were undercooked. To top it off when we called to talk to a manager we were told that they were to busy to come to the phone? REALLY ?? Well with this "lack of care" and all the other restaurants in the area they will not be busy long. SO DISAPPOINTED! PS. we understand that new restaurants have growing pains and if the manager would have just gotten on the phone and explained things it would have made a big difference. Bummed. I love this place. Made it over here right after they opened, and it was still a staff that didn't get the pace. OK, first two weeks a place opens takes a little. Went back with my wife and daughter, and back room was smoky. Cold wet weather, but that kitchen wasn't vented. I was hungry and was looking forward to it. Food was bland! I've gotten spoiled with good Mexican food, but boy did they miss the mark. Staff was OK (wastn't that busy, but our waitress wasn't in a good mood). I'll give it three out of five, but will wait for better weather (when they can open up the back doors to air it out). read more

Go here a lot. Got sick once on the chili Reno but came back tonight and everything was ok except the waitress in the patio I do believe was doing a bit of up selling adding a drink or two to your tab still left a good tip. But won't go to that part of the restaurant anymore. read more

My mom and I have been to this location a few times and the food is ALWAYS GREAT as well as the service. This time was no different but we had to talk about our waiter, Josh(Joshua), he was amazing! I should have checked the reviews first. We went a few months ago and it was really good. We went today around lunch time and it was horrible. Fajitas were soggy and "moist" was the term my wife. My sons crunchy taco was wet on one half. We needed salt on everything. They brought out a basket of chips and no salsa. Our server came to the table 4 times before we asked for salsa and he wasn't even surprised that it happened. Please consider going to another place. read more

Have been excited for the new location in Cedar Park. Gave it a try today and was DE-LI-CIOUS!!!! Only day 3 and are still working out a few kinks, I called in a to-go-order and they had no order for me when I got there. They were quick to process a new order and asked several questions to try and figure out the problem. Snacked on the delicious and fresh salsa and chips while I waited and was able to watch NFL all around me on the many TV screens in the bar. Got home and was extremely pleased with the delicious queso and our meals. We had a burrito (which was huge) and pork tacos (perfect size). Both were fabulous part because of the fresh tortillas. dont waste your time..... the standard margarita is pre made and all syrup. have to up grade to get one that tastes ok. Rio Grand or one of the other family owned mexican places are way better and you can taste the tequila too. ordered the parilla grill way overpriced, meat was overcooked and dry. $16.00 is way to high for something i could havemade at home. oh sorry the tortillas were good tasting and hot. chips and salsa came after we asked two different people for some. the salsa came out looking like he stole it from another table half eaten. or he just stuck the dish in a bigger bowl and filled it.... salsa all over the side and bottom of dish. under experienced wait staff. just a bunch of kids who dont know how to wait a table or give good customer service. our waiter was to busy texting someone to pay attention to our table. nothing looked or tasted fresh. We just had breakfast there. Bloody Mary was perfect, service was polite, quick, and outstanding. We have been here about 6 or 7 times since they opened. We had "ok" service on one trip, but the rest have been great. Portions were a little large, but probably not a negative to most everyone. Try the brisket omelette with BBQ chipotle sauce. John C. Let me start my review with the management. Rick,Tyler, and Jesus run a very good quality restaurant. They are always visable.They are watching the patrons and and wait staff. I have even seen them serve food orders to customer. The wait staff is well trained and move in and out without being to pushy. The restaurant is always clean. No food on the floor. Restaurant is big enough, but not too big. the patio area is nice for a evening drink. Try their Sangria. It really goes well with the menu items. The food is consistently very fresh and good. Didn't really care for the food. It was hot which is good. The waiter forgot our water which we didn't get till after we ate. We had drinks which we're the biggest upset. The lady behind the counter was blah looking and her drinks she made we're even worse. I asked for a long Island tea and I got something very light brown that made me pucker my lips because it was so sour, I tasted no alcohol, which is disappointing seeing the drinks are high priced with smaller cups. I don't think I'll be returning. It wasn't busy at all so I don't know why the service was the way it was. read more

We love Serranos and go there often. The fajitas are (we think) some of the best in Austin and surrounding community. On March 2016, I posted a concern that perhaps the recipe had been changed or altered as the fajitas were not as tasty as before. Since March, we have been back to Serranos twice. I am happy to report the fajitas on May 11, 2016 were delicious once again, and we highly recommend to those seeking some of the best in town. read more

We made the same mistake others made. All the known good texmex places were way busy one Saturday night so we gave Serranos a shot. We would have been better off at Taco Bell. Service was bad. I mean really bad. Food was edible but nothing to get excited about. They forgot parts of some meals and the food runner didn't even know what went with which plate. Margaritas are crappy mix. This was my husband's. & my first time here & we are in our middle to late sixties. I was overwhelmed with the amount of people were in the resaurant & how well they had things under control. Jam packed & we didn't have to wait at all. The bus boys were working sooo hard, it was obvious, even strained & sweating, & still so nice. This restarant went above & beyond what I have experienced in years. Jesus Palacios was a great manager, & has deffinately got things under control. I've. read some reviews & can't understand how demanding customers can be. I highly recommend this serranos. By the way, I have never given a review for a restaurnt before, & I'm. not computer savvy, but I was that impressed. Absolutely inedible food. i will spare you the nasty details but an hour after leaving 5 of 6 in our party felt sick to their stomach. Now, 6 hours later, 2 of 6 have thrown up. The only person who was unaffected was my 4 year old son who only ate tortilla chips. Didn't receive the meal I ordered, which was a vegetarian-friendly dish... ended up with a meat sauce on every item on my plate (which is extremely disgusting for a vegetarian). The place was understaffed and our waiter wasn't able to keep our order straight. I nibbled on some meat-free areas on my plate and left the rest for the dishwasher. What I did eat was bland. Came in today for lunch. We were sat in a booth in the bar area. We could see into the entrance to the bar and where they keep the chips and salsa. The chips were all over the floor and the salsa was in 8 little bowls sitting out on the counter. The bowls of salsa were sitting there the whole time with flys landing on them periodically...yuck. We ordered the combo fajitas and the portions we recieved looked like something off a kids menu. The chicken was over cooked and dry, the steak was good. Underneath the meat was a thick layer of uncooked onions. No thanks, we won't be back! read more

Had really high hopes for this restaurant but sadly it fell short. Serranos has always been one of my favorite restaurants and I was excited to see one was opened in cedar park. We went tonight at 8:40 and they were so/so busy. Several tables were full yet enough were open we were seated right away. We were brought out chips and salsa right away. We went thorough all the chips and salsa without a waiter even acknowledging us. I finally decided to turn on my timer on my phone to see how much longer we had to wait. 6 minutes later we decided to leave. This was after waiting 10-15 minutes before timing it. This decision was after another table got served before us even though he came in after us. I decided to leave a review because that's the only way to help a business understand where they are going wrong. When pulling up this location I've read many reviews much like mine. Sad, very sad. I thought maybe the restaurant was a month or so old but I see a review from 6 months ago. It really is unacceptable for a restaurant with an already established menu and business model to still be having issues 6 months later. A quick message to the manager....quit responding to reviews making it sound like the customer did something wrong by not reporting being cold to the waiter or letting the hostess know you were being ignored. Fix your staffing issues or this restaurant will not last long! The consumer should not have to be responsible for reporting your staff's short comings! read more
