Huge portions, fantastic Cuban coffee, and a great vibe all around! I can honestly say nothing bad to report here. From the moment the steaming hot Cuban bread with butter hit the table, I knew we were off to a great start. It was absolutely delicious. Marvelous. The cortaditos were exceptional, easily the best I had on this Miami trip (and I made a point of trying them everywhere I went). The food portions were massive, and everything we ordered was delicious and satisfying. The service was prompt and friendly, and the outdoor seating had a fun, relaxed atmosphere that really made the experience even better. Despite living in Miami for many years, this was somehow my first visit, and now it's a new favorite. If you're on the hunt for solid Cuban food and exceptional coffee, this is definitely a place to check out.

This is our first time at Sergio's after having come to Miami for many decades. As others have noted, it's OK, it's not great and it's not terrible. Will elaborate why Two of us arrive first and the other two came about seven minutes later. The server brought us serving utensils and water and then didn't come back for at least 15 minutes. She took her order and my order was a bit of a fiasco as I wanted to substitute the moros with cauliflower rice (and pay the up charge), and a side salad instead of the yucca with Mojo. Of course it was a big hullabaloo, and the only reason I wanted to do this was because they don't offer the roast pork as an addition to salads. They offer shrimp, salmon and chicken, but not the roast pork, which is one of their standard proteins. Kind of ridiculous right? The croquetas came out and they were so so. Not crispy, not golden brown, not hot - maybe 105°F. Hope we don't get sick! The flavor was mediocre, they were not creamy at all. Lots of bread crumbs in there. The Cuban sandwich came out, and it had not been pressed at all. Although it was chock full of pork and ham, it was cold and not at all what a Cuban sandwich should be. Fortunately, the midnight sandwich aka Media Noche, appear to be somewhat pressed and warmer than the Cuban sandwich. The grilled chicken strips with peppers looks tasty and my plate of roast pork with griddle on onions was very good. I poured it over my side salad and ate it with the grated cauliflower rice. That was a really different texture than I'm used to and I liked it. Right before our food got served one of us ordered a side of Tostones. You should've seen the server's face thought she was gonna lose it. All in all it was OK, although I don't know that I would return and I certainly wouldn't order croquetas or a Cuban sandwich.

Very disappointing portion for a 32 oz chicken soup.

I ordered a 32 oz chicken soup from Sergio's and was extremely disappointed with what I received. For a container this size, there were only three small pieces of chicken, similar to the piece shown in the photo. The soup also had very little broth and was overwhelmingly filled with noodles and potatoes. When you order a 32 oz chicken soup, you expect a reasonable amount of chicken and broth, not essentially a container of noodles and potatoes with three small pieces of chicken. This is especially frustrating as I had purchased it for a family member who is sick.

It was disappointing. The order came quickly and was good. But we had to ask for bread. We expected the buttered Cuban bread but got cold garlic bread. Then the waitress went missing and we had to ask for bread. It arrived after the meal was delivered. I like technology a lot so when the robot comes out with another tables food it was interesting. But it stoped 2 inches from my elbow.

Solid Cuban Food with Quick and Friendly Service. Wife had a hankerin for Sergio's Cuban Nachos which are instead of the traditional tortilla chips they use sweet plantain chips. They are ridiculously addictive. Along with the plantain chips you get your usual Nachos add ons like tomatoe, onion, guac, sour cream but instead of ground beef you get pulled pork which is marinated in a tamarind bbq sauce. It's so effing good. Once you start you can't stop. And portion size is enough to fill up two people. Definitely worth trying if you haven't already. But aside from this dish we specifically came for, we ended up grabbing an order of torejas for dessert. Which is Cuban bread soaked in simple syrup and is a very traditional Cuban dessert. It was also very good. Service like always is quick and friendly. Plenty of tables inside and out. We decided to sit in the outside covered section and the weather was perfect. Overall a great spot to come for any occasion and enjoy some solid Cuban food.

Sergio's has the best parking off of Coral Way! It's massive and so convenient, but come here for the coffee and the croquetas! You'll notice immediately that they have both a nice seating area indoor and outside for you to pick from. However, they also have a great Ventanita (express window) for you to just grab some coffee and a quick bite. The express window also has dedicated outdoor seating for a short stay. You can get great pastries, including guava pastelitos, and empanadas (mostly baked), but also things like chicharron and a Spanish omelette (giant potato and onion omelette) that you can get a triangular slice of. I love the coffee here. They give you a Cortadito that is double the size that most places give you, but also really great. You can get alternative milks and artificial sweetener if you prefer. They're very accommodating. The staff is also supper friendly.

Beautiful Cuban restaurant with inside and outdoor sitting Service is super nice and accommodating. They have all of the Cuban food you like. They even have the coffee window to order quick. The food is delicious and made to order. Their bread is warm and with some special parm toppings to have while you wait for your food. But don't forget to order the chip plantains with garlic sauce and a few warm croquettes. A perfect place to enjoy any meal during anytime of the day.

Great Coffee and croquetas. Great service and ambiance. Good times great friends. A morning ritual that's priceless.

Visited Sergio's because it's one of the most highly recommended spots for Cuban food and I can honestly say it was just okay. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has indoor and outdoor seating. It was a nice day out so we opted for patio seating. Our server was very nice. My partner and I ordered the croquetas, masas de puerco, lechón asado with congrís, plantains, and yuca en mojo. The food temperature was lukewarm to cold which was not enjoyable. The croquetas were ham and chorizo but they were pretty soggy like they had been sitting. The food did not live up to the hype; it was pretty forgettable and the flavors were unfortunately not there. Hopefully it was just an off day but I'm not sure if I would return as there are much better options around.

SECURE YOUR TO-GO ORDER BAGS!!!!! Your weak plastic bags are easily opened by Uber drivers and are delivered UNSECURED!!! Other places have paper bags STAPLED or A FRESHNESS STICKER to preserve integrity. Change the way you allow random delivery drivers to take your food out of your restaurant. The lack of common sense is baffling.

Stopped by quickly to Sergio's to buy a juice and a pastry. By the time I got there, it was already late and they had no pastries left. I ended up getting a banana walnut pound cake slice, which was okay. Could have definitely used a little more walnuts in it. The service was fine and the ambiance was too. I have never npoticed this Cuban restauarant before. Any road I came todayt. They have a car park adajacent which is always a winwin. Serive was friendly, corteous and on poiunt. They also had a "staff Robot", nice to see for the novelty factor. I tried the following - Mojito - it was good and hit the spot. Croquettes - not a fan, as they were mushy and soggy and not interesting at all for me. Main, pork with a side of potatoe salad and also a Caesar salad. All average for Cuban fayre. I am married to a Cuban, so I frequent many a Cuban spot. The food here was decent , but was lack lustre for me. Dessert - their rice pudding, again ok but nothing to get in a tizz about.

Please don't rate Sergio's off of this one, this is the worst Sergio's in miami, their service is horrible and their food is not good The food always taste old. I'm only giving them 3 stars because of my waitress Heyddi. She was attentive , informative and very nice .. I ordered the mojo shredded chicken as I always do and once again was pretty good.. I don't know who decided on this construction in here but it looks awful.. The ceiling to this place is so filled with dust that I couldn't stop starring at it and it kicked my allergies into high gear . I also don't understand why the shrank this place , it now feels like a shoe box .. todays experience was saved my Heyddi, if it wasn't for her niceness I would of been out .. read more

The food is always amazing but the pick up experience is terrible!!!!!! I usually order online to save time during my lunch break and it never fails every time I arrive my food is not ready and they run around not knowing where my food is. I didn't catch the ladies name but the ones trained for the window are rude and not helpful! They just get upset and give a bad face!! We came in for breakfast we were told to sit down where we would like, shortly after we were brought water but no menus. I sat around for a bit looking to see if a waiter was coming, no one came. I saw a couple come in with their child and they were given a menu right away. So I waved someone down and asked for a menu which they gave me right away. Once we figured out what we wanted, STILL no waitress appeared. So I waived one down to ask for one, so she ended up taking our order. She was very nice and things went smoothly from there. I orders Abuelitas French toast and my boyfriend got the deluxe breakfast. Both were priced nicely. They brought us café con leche and some warm toasted Cuban bread first then our breakfast. Everything was really good, except my dish. It was soggy and just not good. All in all would come back, order something different, our waitress was very good and attentive, once we got one, and my boyfriend's food was good. So would recommend! read more

Everywhere where online it says they open until 11, called over the phone same information was given to me. I show up in person and they say they close at 10. Horrible service. Other times my food has taken over an hour to be made and top of that it was made incorrectly. Managers and staff are not friendly and they do the absolute minimum always. read more

Ordered a pick up order over the phone, and once I arrived I made the line by the pick up window only to be directed to another window. I asked for an estimate wait on our food and they said they couldn't provide that information as they already let the kitchen know we had arrived. Later I wanted to order a pastry item while waiting for our food and they said I couldn't order or purchase anything until my food arrived as they had to make one single transaction. I followed by ordering anyway and saying I was gonna use different cards anyway and they rolled their eyes at us. Not very friendly workers at the pick up window so from now on I will definitely be visiting their other locations. read more

This has always been my go-to place when I'm stumped on places to eat. Decent variety of Cuban food with even better portion sizes. Tonight, I had the Chicken Vaca Frita Tacos (under their Appetizer section) and it was delicious! The variety and amount of toppings was great and the vaca frita de pollo was cool excellently. However, they skimped out on the amount of tortillas for the amount of toppings available. Otherwise, great dish as an entree to split with someone or as an appetizer to share as a group. Oh, and their sangria is always a must. Try to make it to their Happy Hour Mon-Friday 4-7 for $5 sangrias. read more

I live in the neighborhood but I don't eat here frequently because I once ordered the breaded steak and didn't like it. I will eat Cuban food every now and again but it is not something I crave or seek out on a regular basis. What Sergio's does really well is croquetas and tostada. I've been going there more regularly on the weekends when I don't feel like cooking breakfast. The service at the window can be quite slow. Not speaking Spanish is an inconvenience but not a deal breaker. I've been able to get by just ordering those few things and answering (in English) when they need clarification or have a question. The empanadas are meh. I was just scrolling through yelp and saw that they have a croqueta pizza... hmmm that may be something to think about on my next order. read more

I am writing this review to alert management to step in and fix a situation. I am so disappointed with the Cuban sandwiches i ordered tonight. The bread was stale or tasted stale, it was not "aplastado" or flattened with it's contents in classic style, and the sandwiches had no pork! how can these be Cuban sandwiches???? Worse tasting ceviche ever. Don't order it. It seems like they freeze the seafood and then serve it as it it requested? The pieces of fish were stuck together. Completely flavorless. Forgot to give me one of my sides (beans), over priced for the quality, the Winn Dixie on the other side of street has better quality food, meat was dry as hell, the plastic fork they gave me could barely cut through the chimi-chicken, and when I did, (the knife was also bending at this point) I ended cutting through the styrofoam plate. read more

You can't go wrong with Sergio's menu, highly recommended since they have something for everyone, the quality of the service is superb and and their table setup outside is really nice despite Covid-19 requirements. The remodeling work is looking great as well. I just wish they could expand their vegan options to something similar to what @vegancubancuisine offers, that way I could list these restaurants in the HappyCow app (wich is like Yelp, but with much stricter rules for millions of users). I recommend all traditional Cuban food, breakfast menus and their plant-base "La Flaca" fritas! Keep up the good work and vanguard progressive history of restaurants in Miami! Reshaping the restaurant experience industry with character is extremely important nowadays, and I can see Sergio's heading on that direction. read more

A local staple for delicious and reasonably priced Cuban food in Miami with excellent coffee and empanadas. I have been here many times for lunch and dinner, and have always been impressed with their take on Cuban classics. My favorite dishes are the tostones with shrimp, tabla Español with Spanish ham and manchengo cheese, and the riced cauliflower. Service can be a tad bit slow at times and you may need to wait for a table on Fridays or Saturdays. I would highly reccomend coming to the window for takeout in the morning for authentic Miami coffee and conversation. The outside seating is also a better option for those looking to enjoy the South Florida weather and the patio is nicely illuminated at night with old fashioned light bulb string lights. read more

Excellent curbside Coral Way dining on authentic Cuban food. Great ambiance that sets the mood for an exotic escapade while smack in the middle of Miami's best thoroughfare. The food was amazing. For starters, you are greeted with a tall hinged-lid bottle of water and a tray of bread (specify if you don't eat cheese 'cause it's smothered) Almost no wait while a full place and like magic the meal makes it's entrance... so good it up me in a trance.... yeah; that good. If & when you come to the Magic City, this is a great place to start. read more

This particular Sergio's location (Coral Gables) excels in consistency! ... Consistently good food and consistently poor service! Have been here many times over the years ... I usually sit outdoors, but sometimes sit indoors, usually come with a friend, but sometimes come alone, and usually order breakfast, but sometimes in the mood for something else. Bottom line ... it doesn't matter where you sit or what you order ... you can always count on a good meal and you can also always count on bad service. Today's visit: After enjoying Sergio's Country Breakfast (scrambled eggs, bacon, tostada, and cafe con leche), I waited 40 minutes to get the bill. 40 minutes!! Nobody even checked on me. It was as if I was invisible ... weird, because I was wearing a very bright, colorful print silk blouse which was anything but invisible! Haha Although the food tasted good in my mouth, the neglectful service left me with a bad taste in my mouth. This was no surprise, though, because, like I said, they CONSISTENTLY provide poor service here at this Coral Gables location. So ... Come for the food ... Stay for the ... well, stay, because you can't leave until you get your bill! Haha The Sergio's in Kendall (107th Ave.) is WAYYY better. read more

We ordered online and were ignored for 15 minutes. Friends of the employees who work the window walked in after us were served first. After we called them out for it they decided to finally embrace us with nasty attitude. We ordered sandwiches, they were given to us without being pressed (the sandwich was cold, sliced cheese wasn't melted). "Mui delisioso and a buen tiempo!" I hope I didn't butcher that! I placed an over the phone order with Sergios this weekend on Sunday for delivery, and man did that not go as planned.. When I called in to place our order I heard a lot of commotion in the background. Which led me to think that the place was swapped, on a Sunday afternoon! Crazy! I was hesitant to continue with the delivery option in fear of waiting too long and our meal arriving cold so I opted for pick up instead, as we don't live too far away. Upon my arrival I noticed a lot of parked cars and made my way towards the pick up window. I had to wait a minute to be attended (and I know I arrived early) and as I looked in their window, I thought, there's no way my order would be ready anytime soon. Once I walked up to the register I was told that my order was being worked on and I was offered to have an esspero or a "cafe cubano" while I waited, so I purchased it. Man that is some strong and delicious stuff in that little cup!! I still feel it today! As I stepped to the side I just looked around at how they handled their customers and how the back was operating and WOW, these guys have their game down packed. Fluidity, and control is what I saw. I've seen places that just can't handle the pressure but these guys and gals definitely are a different breed! I peaked inside the actual restaurant for a second and saw how packed they where. Just a very happy and positive environment, with food on every table, must have been the cuban esspresso going around!! I noticed a gentleman, looked to be their GM walking around as well, almost as if this was all par for the course, expecting nothing less. It's always nice to see management doing their rounds. Look, I'm a big customer satisfaction kind of guy, so I pick up on this stuff, and I've got to say Sergios has their crew down packed, exquisite environment, great customer care, and lot's of traffic, they're doing something right! Even though our food was ready momentarily and was extremely hot upon departure, (which when I got home and checked, it was exactly what we ordered, as I forgot to check before leaving, and tasted AMAZING!!) my only regret was not grabbing my family back at home and going back to Sergios to go inside and join the experience. Hubby and I took our daughter out to Sergios Restaurant down south this weekend, as we are from Broward and were visiting family in the area.. I'm not big on reviews, but felt like making an exception for this experience, and will definitely recommend this specific location to my family in the area and even friends locally from up north. wow. Just wow. Besides the restaurant looking exceptionally clean during such a busy time, and Covid regulations being respected, we were very pleased with the attention and care from their staff. One member in particular, which seemed to be the manager at first, but we weren't totally certain, Mauricio was going around from table to table with a lot of energy (I'd like to add) and was a very charismatic man, you could see how he left his mark with each table. Communicating with staff, his demeanor exuded a lot of control with his team and overall fluidity. He approached our table and conversed with my husband, where we then proceeded to buy a bottle of wine, suggested by Mauricio(didn't plan on it, but when in Rome) and he did not disappoint! Full service and all, it was quite an experience! Full service! food was delicious, wine was great, service impecable. I wish there were more stars to give this store and specifically this man Mauricio a 10 star rating! Credit must be given where credit is due. This restaurant needs a bit of work. It was quite busy when we were there and there were servers running around everywhere. So initially, I thought we were in for a treat because of how popular the restaurant seemed to be. After being seated, the waitress, who was very friendly, came over and asked for our order. I ordered the churassco with fries, beans, and rice. It took a bit of time for the food to come out, which wasn't a huge deal since I did order steak. However, when the order came out, they brought me breaded chicken instead. I of course corrected the waitress and she was very nice about the whole thing. But I had to then wait a bit longer until the churassco came. It definitely came out quicker than the original order did, but the wait was annoying nonetheless, and... it was so small and skinny! I ordered the 12oz, but it definitely did not look like 12oz. However, I have to admit, even though it was small, the steak was delicious. The fries were just okay and the beans and rice were good. My husband and I have been loyal customers at this particular establishment for years, before this new remodel and have always been very pleased with our visits and meals. Before their remodel we never had to wait in line, but now we have a short wait upon arrival. I usually place my order 30 minutes prior by calling and wait there in person anywhere from 10-15 minutes, which we think is reasonable. Their functionality is evident as the line continuously flows as one orders and pays at window 1 and then picks up that order at window 2. Thankfully I always call ahead. Even though I waited, our meals were all fresh and hot! Obviously quiet tasty! Considering that they're always slammed you would think people would be a little more understanding when having to wait just a few minutes, but unfortunately I've seen some of the nicest, hardworking employees being mistreated by some ridiculous people. I recently visited this Sergio's location with a colleague for breakfast. I was thoroughly pleased with my meal, and experience. I have never bothered to create a yelp account, but I felt compelled to do so after my satisfactory experience at Sergio's. In most restaurants, the fruit is rarely fresh; Sergio's, however, provided unblemished seasonal fruit. I enjoyed my meal so much, my visit was prolonged into brunch hours, at which point my colleague and I decided to indulge in delicious guava mimosas. We received our orders quite hastily, especially considering the near capacity crowd in the restaurant. Great service. I must say, one of the most professional establishments in the restaurant industry that I've been to down here in Miami in a while. I've had many friends recommend this fine place to me when I'm down here traveling for work and I've deceived to finally check it out. I went ahead and called in for a pick up. The operator told me that my meal would be ready in 25 minutes so I deceided to drive over after I hung up, not realizing how close I actually was to them. 15 minutes after my order was placed I arrived and saw a full house. Worried that my order would be pushed back I asked the clerk at the window for my order and it was already ready. I think I need to give my friends a little more credit because this was an incredible recommendation. I would love to give Sergio's more stars because they have some pretty good Cuban food. However, the devil is in the details. We were sat in one of the end booths that is sharing a wall with a servers station and every time they cleaned a table, the staff would throw the dirty plates or something on the other side. So each time that was done the booth I sat in shook. It kind of sucked. It's been a few months since my last visit, and once again I had a great experience at Sergios. I actually started following their Instagram page and that's what planted the seed to revisit, since we've been swamped with tax season. As expected I had about a 30 minute wait, which I took advantage of and ordered a coffee as I answered a few emails. I also noticed that there weren't many staff members, which made me worry about service but man just like last time, these Sergios employees just bring it!! Their fluidity and tempo just came together like well lubricated clock gears. Incredibly delicious food and great drinks (had a few haha couldn't help myself they were just so appetizing) !! I've been a part of this community my whole life, and I was truly disappointed by my experience at Sergio's tonight. With the 50th anniversary celebration being advertised for weeks, I expected a welcoming atmosphere. Instead, when I arrived at 8 PM with one guest, we were told they could not seat two people at all. For such a major milestone, I would have expected the restaurant to be better prepared for a busy evening. Even a long wait time, an hour or two, would have been understandable. But to simply turn guests away without offering options felt dismissive and not in the spirit of hospitality. This was especially disheartening on a night that was meant to celebrate 50 years in the community. I will turn to local favorites such as La Carreta and Versailles as other options before going back to Sergio's. Truly disheartening this evening. read more

A few days ago, Thursday to be exact, I went by Sergios Restaurant for what I thought would be a quick bite. To my surprise it was a whole experience, from the moment I walked in, to the moment I left. It was during the afternoon and we actually needed to wait to be seated. It was a decent half hour wait, where I was seated in their bench area waiting to be sat. A lot of foot traffic! And now I can truly understands the commotion with this little Sergios restaurant. Great atmosphere, great service, very friendly staff, amazing and quite tasty food! And a little Cuban coffee at the end went along way! Well worth the wait! In 2011, I worked almost next to Sergios, They previously never got an order wrong. I specifically always order their Chicken Croquetas, I have recommended them all over miami, However If they are rushed they will get the order wrong. A couple of months ago I stood their ordered chicken croquetas, and they gave me ham. Today 12.7.17. I ordered a 16 oz chicken souple, and 5 chicken croquettes, I had my co worker pick it up because I was sick. It came back to me with a small black bean container, and the croquetas are cod not chicken. they were sopose to deliver the correct order now, and its been almost an hour. Make sure you spell things out for them 10 times before you place the order over the phone. I feel horrible having to write this review. They are my favorite place for croquetas (croquettes). read more

Crispy on the outside, creamy and flavorful on the inside, and exactly what a good Cuban croqueta should be. Definitely something I'd order again! Service: The service was friendly and attentive. Everything came out quickly, and we were well taken care of throughout the meal. Ambience: The atmosphere is casual, welcoming, and very Miami. It's a great spot for an easy lunch or dinner with family or friends without anything feeling too formal. Three cheers for Sergio's!!! We checked out this spot a couple weeks back during the unveiling of the World's Largest Croqueta and it left a really good taste in our mouth... Those guys can really throw a party! This time around we decided to order at their window as we had plans to meet some friends for a stroll at a nearby park. Super fast service! I like how they have separate windows to both order and pick up. They have a really well lubed systems going, like clockwork. Especially considering how busy they were! And after it all, our meals were amazingly fresh, hot and quite delicious! Really NAILED that Cuban flavor! Awesome location!! Cant wait for their renovations to be in place, with the upstairs area. Killer! Big rush of folks when I was there. Had to wait 25 minutes to be seated. It was like watching a puzzle piece flow smoothly into the next, one after the other. Very interested to see how they operate from the moment someone comes over to be sat to the moment they're waiter brings their beverages, then meals and followed by checks. Once we were seated it totally made up for the wait. We were immediately attended and our meals arrived nice and steamy! Absolutely delicious!! What a great way to enjoy Cuban cuisine!! I have always been an avid fan of the Sergio's restaurants. However, I am particularly impressed with this specific location (CORAL WAY). As I was visiting a friend this morning, lunch time approached and we decided to place a delivery order from the nearby Sergio's. My friend and I were both utterly hesitant to select dishes, but the employee on the phone was incomprehensibly patient and guided us toward our decision with great suggestions. Our ordered arrived in less than 40 minutes, which is commendable considering it was rush hour for lunch. Once again smooth experience with Sergios. I placed an over the phone order earlier today. I only live a few minutes away from this location, so i figured I'd go earlier and just wait. I got there and decided to entertain myself and just see if they at least had an eta since they seemed to be rather on the busy side. They told me that actually my meal should be right out! Literally waited 7 more minutes from that point and i had my whole order ready and fresh!!! Incredible speed!! Headed over to Sergios this weekend. Usually we sit in for a meal but went to the window for take out. Never really paid much attention to their window service but wasn't surprised to see them exceed here as well. When in doubt head to this Sergio's location. Their window service was very busy I might add. A long line, but I thought their methodology was on point. Order and pay in window one and then await our order in window two.
