Worst customer service experience. My girlfriend gets her nails done regularly. The shop that she was a regular at was sold by the owner, so she has been trying new nail spots here and there. Today, she went to Serene nails for the second time for a mani and pedi. The pedi started out great. However, the tech didn't make an effort to clean under the toe nails or cuticles and went straight into painting them. My girlfriend stated in a soft speaking voice, "Doesn't a pedi include cleaning the nails?" My girlfriend was then engaged aggressively by an employee named Ann, who stated that the girl did clean her nails. Again, my girlfriend gets her nails done regularly, so she is familiar with the procedure. The nail tech didn't clean the cuticles or under the nails, just trimmed and went straight into painting them. When the issue was brought up, my girlfriend was berated and made to feel embarrassed as the employee Ann started yelling at her, embarrassing my gf in front of everyone. My girlfriend had to ask several times for the employee to step back. The entire confrontation was recorded. My girlfriend called me crying due to the negative experience. I feel responsible because I gave her the money to treat herself. I never posted a negative review on any platform, but this situation was uncalled for and could've been fixed by simply offering to correct the wrong. read more

Went to get my nails done but I think the technician that did my nails may may need a little more practice . My nails didn't look very good. came back the next day to show the many flaws . Thank God the owner is so awesome and right away said they will fix it. When I came back to fix it I got Steven who fixed my nails . Thank you Steven for fixing the issue with my nails. You did a great job. I totally will be coming back to Steven. I also love the customer service. The owner seems to be an honest man that has integrity and take pride in the work that comes out of his shop. So I NEVER write reviews, this is my first one! But so worth it At first I was a little hesitant because of the lack of reviews, and I didn't see any blonde pictures on there, but tam and Tom were soo amazing. So helpful and sweet. I felt absolutely pampered. They went as far as wiping off the bleach from my forehead and even putting Vaseline on there to make sure I was comfortable, in all my years of getting my hair done I've never experienced that type of care and concern. At one point I had all of the nail techs and hairdressers around me complimenting me, my eyelashes, and just in general that I look good! I am so impressed with this cute little salon! I popped in there this afternoon while I was waiting for my cat to be seen by her vet and to be honest, I was a little wary at first because I'm used to going to hair salons that have funky music playing, stylists dressed all in black, and expensive haircare products everywhere, and Adore doesn't have all those frills, so I was worried that I may have just walked into a Super Cuts-esque salon. I'm very happy to say that my initial impressions were wrong. First, everyone there is really nice and accommodating, and I was able to get into a chair even though I didn't have an appointment. The interior is very clean and simple, and it's really easy to settle in and get comfortable there. The hairdresser--whose name I wish I remembered, but I think he's the owner--is friendly and very good at what he does. I left with a really nice layered haircut that only took 45 minutes whereas other salons take an hour or more. The best part was that it was only $28. That's so cheap compared to fancier salons and Adore's quality of work is just as good as theirs. I couldn't believe it. I'm definitely getting my haircut there again. I'm glad I didn't judge the book by its cover or else I would've missed this gem. I'm really happy with the results and I highly recommend visiting them at least once. Put your ego away and throw out your preconceived notions of what you think a "real" salon should be because Adore is proof that you can get high-end haircuts without high-end frills. read more

I was a little hesitant to write this review for my own selfish reason and I don't ever want this place to get way too busy that I'd have to make appointment weeks out. But... this is one of the ways to show support and they deserve it because they really are the best. As soon as I walk in, I am immediately greeted by a pretty, young lady. The salon is very chic and clean. I was seated on the chair right on time for my appointment. My hairdresser's name is Tam and I barely explained what cut I wanted because I honestly had no clue how to describe it. It's almost like he could see the picture of what I was imagining in my head! He's so precise and careful. You can really see the artistic talent he has in him by the way he cuts. He was also gentle when positioning my head (unlike other places I've experienced). I wish I kept my "before" picture and show the huge makeover Tam has done to my hair. My hair was super damaged and choppy (previous cut and color from another salon), and now my hair is soft, layered, and trimmed off all my dead ends. I used to pay $60+ for choppy/uneven haircuts. This wonderful experience only costed me $28. I will forever be a loyal client of this salon. I am extremely satisfied and relieved to have finally found a place for pamper. Where do I start omg. So I've been looking for a nail salon that does not charge freakin $300 for a set of nails. Well all I can say is I found it!!! Everyone is sooo nice! We came in a lil late. They stood open for a extra hour, to finish the work. The salon is sooo clean. Family owned so it's adorable! Everyone has smiles on!! (Hard to find one these days)... the girl that did my nails (Thalia) she's super super nice. She helped me pick a design. I went with IT the clown and omg. I'm still obsessing!!! Very good work. I had been getting my haircuts at T&T Barber Hairstyling on School St. for about 4 years, but the couple who ran the shop moved to Market City to open Adore, and I have moved with them. When I first started getting haircuts with them, I showed them a photo of a decent haircut I got a few years prior, and they were able to replicate and adjust it to better fit my weirdly shaped head. They've pretty much memorized what I'm looking for, and I'm always happy with the haircuts I get. Also the price for a haircut is great, even for someone like me who's pretty frugal. Initially I wasn't even aware they were moving to Market City, but when I was walking to Foodland one day before their grand opening, Thong saw me and showed me around. I wanted to write this review because I thought I might not be the only one who didn't know that they've moved. Also they're both awesome people and I consider them my haircut parents. Nina did an amazing job! I came in today with such an ugly set and she went to town, cleaned everything and did a complete reset!! First, the good news. it's a recently built-out new space and they did a lovely job. 1st class and spotless, the massage chairs are amazing. They play music in the background, but it's not objectionable. I got a mani/pedi on Sunday when my usual place, Creative Nails on Monserrat, was jammed. Creative frankly does a slightly better job, but Adore was perfectly competent. And Creative is so crowded all the time, it's not relaxing to go there at peak times. one thing I love about Creative, however, is that they play a loop of clean family movies in the background - I get so bored when I'm having a manicure, it's great. Adore has 2 beautiful big screens that just play music, waste. but overall, relaxing and good service. $50 for standard mani/pedi with buffed nails (I think Creative is $5 cheaper), so about standard. Amazing experience getting my nails done here! The staff was kind enough to let me walk in without a nail appointment and the wait time was only five minutes (note that there were only two nail technicians when I walked in and I just got lucky with the time). I didn't get the name of my nail technician but she did an amazing job. I was very specific about the design I wanted and she absolutely nailed it. My daughter and her friend had acrylic nails done at Serene Nails yesterday, and both of them were cut by the drill used by their nail techs. My daughter was cut twice, on two different fingers. She initially thought they were minor cuts, but today they are red and painful. I called the salon manager to let her know this happened, so that they might be more careful and better train their staff. The manager responded by saying she knew what happened, and that it was "just a small cut." No apology was given or responsibility taken. read more

Good things ... man and woman working greeted me as I walked in and were very friendly. The lady who cut my hair was nice. Chatty and bright but not annoying. Haircut was about $25 after tip. Bad ... she doesn't listen. As I looked around and reflecting back, maybe they only know one style of cut for men. I ask to barely have my hair cut. Just clean it up, lightest of trims. She buzzed the sides! I mean I was in the Army and NEVER had my hair that short aside from Basic Training, AIT and if I had to go to a school. To make matters worse the bottom was buzzed and there was no blend or fade. just a harsh almost non-existent transition. THey have overall decent reviews. Maybe they do nails really well. i love getting my nails done but i didn't want to find a new salon here while i'm at school. this place seemed perfect so i wanted to try it and the whole experience was amazing, however i wanted acrylic and the lady convinced me to get dip. this is where i went wrong because full sets typically last me a good while and i can just get a fill every three-four weeks but with this set it has been just over two weeks and not only have i broken 3 nails, two of them broke so far up that half of my actual nail is gone. usually i am not this upset over broken nails, however she convinced me that the dip was better than acrylic and it very much so has not been. this being said just know exactly what you want before you go in and you should be fine. EDIT: they are going to replace the set of five broken nails, very nice and quick to fix the issue! thank you read more

I wish i could give zero stars. Went there a year ago to cut my hair & they kept telling me to not dye my hair black anymore. i have no idea what that had to do with me getting my hair cut, it was so frustrating . the girl before me got a hair cut too & they had wash her hair after her cut & styled it too. i asked the girl before she left if it was additional charge and she said NO! all they did was wet my hair with a spray bottle and cut it half a**!! fast forward a year later and i tried to give it a chance again hoping they'd do good... this time i just wanted a color. ALL black with a SMALL blonde strip. black was ok but the blonde strip??? she really missed my hair up!! im leaving here with it looking ORANGE! she didn't color to the roots either. mind you, i went in with dark brown hair!! she bleached the strip ONCE and said "ill try and bleach it again but i don't think i can. washed my hair, put a serum and that was it. they're horrible. the owner, the guy... was there and he said nothing!! just stood there and looked at me. i even came here to do my nails & they did horrible on that too. i wish i could add pics but this is so embarrassing. im leaving the salon right now with dye still on my forehead!! please save your money and go anywhere else but here!! read more
