Called very last minute to see if they had any appointments on Friday and they said their last appointment was 5:00 pm since they close at 6. I got there at 5, but there is only 2 ladies and they were both doing pedicures so I had to wait a little bit but I did not mind. Overall loved the shape and how thin she made my nails. Although when she was gluing the fake nail she had put A LOT of glue so it was spilling everything so my skin was getting stuck to my nail and she would push her nail under my skin which had hurt every time she was pushing it, even after I had to remove a bit of the glue that was still stuck under my thumb because I was uncomfortable. And then I noticed there was an piece she didn't take off. But overall was a nice experience. Full set came out to be $69.69 with tax so it was like $66.55 before tax I guess? read more

Made an appt here because my usual spot wasn't able to take me in the day I needed to come in. Lucky for me I recalled seeing a cute little salon and looked them up on yelp for the phone number and called to make an appointment. Booking my appointment was easy, I was very grateful they were able to take me. My appointment was at 1pm. I came in 15 minutes early and they were able to sit me at a table right away. One of the girls gave me a complimentary water bottle so that was a nice touch. The salon overall was small. But clean. There's only 2 workers there but they are very attentive and don't chit chat. I work in customer service so I appreciate when good customer service is given to me. Helen did my nails and she was very sweet and nice. I had bought in a picture of what I wanted for my nails. I was having an acrylic set done with gel polish and designs, and she did a really good job! I really like them. She did, however cut me twice. When she was using the tool to clean off the acrylics under my nails she went in too deep and cut me. On both of my thumbs. I didn't make a big fuss because hey, accidents do happen and I'm pretty understanding. But it did hurt, and it still does right now. even days after. But she took her time on the shaping and the art work and I appreciate that. Some of the polish is kind of starting to chip on the sides and tip which is a bummer but hey maybe it's cause I'm hard on my hands. I also got a French pedicure done which I know she also cut me by my cuticle part because I felt it when she sprayed alcohol on my toes in the end, i felt that stinging feeling. But back to my pedicure part I was a little disappointed that she didn't ask if I wanted to upgrade my pedicure. I was looking forward to relaxing and getting a good massage and I saw that they have 3 different types of pedis. but she didnt offer and I decided not to ask because maybe she was tired and just wanted to be done so she can go rest up and maybe get something to eat. She did take a long time on my fingers so I understand if she just wanted to go get a break. I paid around $115 including tax. My acrylic set with gel polish and designs were $80 and and my basic French pedi was $30. I tipped her $25 because overall I liked her and she was really sweet. I will definitely be returning because besides her cutting me, it was a pleasant visit and Helen was very nice. I'm looking forward to getting new nails in 2 weeks. I was able to walk right in and get a mani/pedi with gel nails. I appreciate when I can get my toes and nails done at the same time- so much more time efficient. I do wish they had more color selections- I picked a color that totally shocked me- not my normal color. I wanted a color with sparkles- this one was the most sparkly. This business runs small and gives very friendly and attention to detail service. I walked in for pedicure but technicians were not available. So I made an appointment and returned a few hours later. The place is small but tidy and clean! I had Apple Spa pedicure and it was amazing. The technician took care of my curled toe nail and super made sure I didn't feel any more discomfort there. Then the massage was heavenly!!! She could tell where was right or not. So she could adjust the pressure as needed. I write this only because anyone who cares about their health (as well as thier loved ones health) and well being, deserves the right to know. In my previous review I gave a 5 star. I LOVE my technician, Lea. Very skilled, sweet, professional, and 'follow the rules' kinda girl. However, after my experience with the manager, Danielle, regarding poor CDC protocol today, I have to give 2 stars (should be 1 but I give 2 bc a single employee's poor judgement call shouldnt effect the entire business). I came back to see how well they have been adjusting their business to CDC sanitation guidelines. This salon is a small space but I'm always the only one in there, they have plexiglass borders every where, and they say they wipe down everything between each customer; So I felt safe and it SEEMED like they were doing a good job with sanitation protocols... They have NO AIR FLOW in this small space - this is a simple CDC guideline and also the main reason the recent spikes of new cases occurred (gyms/yoga studios with closed spaces not following air flow guidelines and spreading it to over dozens in the city alone). For those of you who have you been doing the research on the mannerisms of COVID virus, you know why this is crucial. The 6ft rule applies only to the respiratory droplets, but the virus can go beyond 6ft in the air; therefore, closed spaces must have open doors/windows for fresh air to come in to dilute the virus as well as any possible virus to get out and avoid contaminating others. I requested the manager, Danielle, to crack the door open and explained the reasons from above. She responded with "NO" because of two reasons; 1. She didnt want to waste the AC (also informed her then that AC is circulated air; thus more chances of spreading the virus). 2. There are crazy people on the sidewalk that randomly walk in; This, I can understand, however, there was an elderly just 2 seats away from me. I asked her "So you'd rather save money on AC than possibly risk someone's health, worst case life? And the wide window will give us plenty of warning if a crazy is about to approach. Can we please place a trash can in the door way for a crack of air flow. Safety should always be first". She then continued the same argument. By the end, she agreed to crack the door open and there were no crazies. There were also total of 6ppl in this space about the size of a large 1BdRm. Also and unfortunately, I did not see her sanitize the customer's seat after she left. read more

We were walk ins first time there. I got my husband to come with me to get him a Mani/Pedi! He had a nice hand and foot massage from it. I got acrylic nails with ring finger designed with a little shell starfish and pearls. The staff were super nice and friendly. I learned it's best to use Gel Nail Color if I'm applying 3D designs so it stays longer. The lady I had was very detailed about how my nails looked and shaped and things like that. Super good! This is a previously great salon going through some major growing pains! My nails look great and have lasted 6+ weeks , with only grow out , no breaking nails or chipping. Van is fantastic. Friendly and does a great job . She recently sold to a new owner, and the result is disorganized. First, they changed their hours, closing at 7 not 8. The new owner left several hours early today and never returned , so Van is left working a longer shift alone. A woman came in for a scheduled appointment and was turned away because there is nobody to do her service. The new owner also bought a new credit card machine and didn't teach Van how to use it! I like Van very much but not sure I will return for some time. read more

This was my first time at Apple Nails Spa and I'm definitely going back! I ended up getting my old acrylics removed and getting a new sculpted set. I only paid $50+tip and I am sooo happy with the results. The whole process took about 1 hour and 50 minutes. To be fair I like to sit in front of the fan to dry my nails for at least 20 minutes. Cause I ALWAYS mess up my paint job. But this is the fastest and cleanest service I have gotten yet. Anyway, Helen's attention to detail is amazing. She applied the acrylic super carefully and even had to redo a few(because I changed my shape last minute) and she did it happily, free of charge. She was so precise when it came to the dremel, I was never hit once by the tool. And when it came to the paint job she took her time and didn't "give up". I say this because so many salons will give a great service and then get lazy and rush as soon as it comes to the paint job. Making your entire manicure feel like you could have done a better job at home. She also gave me some nail advice cause I'm still new to this. She was very knowledgeable and happy to share with me! The service was outstanding and the end results are exactly what I wanted. Other then that it was very easy to find but it's a really small salon with only a 2 women-sister-team. So I suggest making an appointment probably before Noon otherwise the get pretty busy with walk-ins. While I was there she had 3 people walk in wanting services but her sister wasn't coming till Noon. The salon was comfortable and they do have AC. They don't play any music, all though they do have a TV; that wasn't on at the time. But it was just me and Helen and I was OK with that because I really enjoyed the 1 on 1 attention I got from her. All in all this is a really great salon that doesn't seem to get to busy. Just call to make sure you get an appointment for the time you really want. I've always thought it was better to book an appointment rather then just walk in. If you can schedule it why not make it a garunteed thing right? read more

My new go to nail salon! It's like a hidden gem, so I'm torn to write this review. But they definitely deserve my five star rating. The salon is clean, there's lots of polish options, the girls are accommodating, and super sweet! Both nail techs really take their time and make sure everything is perfect from shape to coat. I always get gel and they last for 3 weeks unless I pick them off. Side note: My nails are pretty basic but I brought my gf here and she wanted the coffin shaped acrylics with marble details and she was really happy with the end result. I drive all the way from Ewa Beach just to have Helen do her thannng on my funky feet and fat fingers. Periodically, I get these crazy ingrown toe nails, yeah I know biiish it's gross, anyway she gets em out without hurtin a b***h. I am always snoring by the time my pedicure is over. A+. As for my hands...She shapes my fingernails beautifully, puts up with my bulls**t ideas for nail art, is always so detail oriented and has never failed to deliver a bad ass end result. She has my sausage fingers lookin like a million bucks in about an hour. Frikken amazing. The only negative thing I can say about her is that she never has a table full of snacks waiting to be murdered by me. But maybe now I'm just being a fattie. This was my first experience with getting my nails done and The service was great. The store owner, Van was very nice and worked very fast. I was surprised at how quick and clean she was. My nails were a mess really uneven and my cuticles always bothered me I didn't know what to do with them (I honestly thought I couldn't do anything). But Van did just the trick! I had a wait a short wait for my appt to start, but Ly was an excellent nail technician and my manicure was done professionally and the massage on my hands was very relaxing. I've been coming to Van for my nails since June. I have had pedicures, acrylics, and gel nails and have never left unhappy with her work. She is also such a sweet person and her prices are reasonable. She works alone so is not able to accommodate groups and it is best to call and make an appointment ahead of time to make sure she will be available. You can also text her which is super convenient! I came here for the first time this past April and again on 8/17/17 this time with my daughter. As the first time I came, Van (owner) was very accommodating and nice. Obviously she did great the first time around and its why I came again. First off Im from the mainland, Im 41, young at heart, and prefer classic style when it comes to my nails. When I say classic, it means normally red, pinks or french. On rare occasion you'll see me with blues or greens but thats rare. Anyhow, trying to find a nail place, where they do simple manicures was kinda daunting for me here in the island. My daughters condo is flanked between two nail places. One was too extreme for me, and the other Apple. Van did a great job with my mani/pedi. It was no frills, quick and simple. Now, if your looking for a SPA type of thing, this might not be the place for you. I've only seen Van and Van only so her work could seem rushed because of her next appt. My nail girl in the mainland takes her time with her massages, and I enjoy the relaxing soothing feel. Although Van massages, its a quick thing. So I guess what Im trying to say is, if your looking for spa treatment with slow motion atmosphere.. this might not be the place for you. If your looking for a quick thing (which I was) this place works! I would go back again :) Price point wise, she's very reasonable. I would come back again. I Love this place! I went and got a manicure and pedicure here a few days ago. There we 2 nice ladies that worked on me. They helped me pick out colors, and painted a Palm Tree on each of my big toes just right.. The price is reasonable and my nails are still perfect... This may sound basic but I have gone to other nail places and felt like my nails were messed up by the time I got home! I honestly haven't done a review on yelp in a long while. But I really want to let future customers know about this place. I got my nails previously done back home in San Francisco before coming to Hawaii with my boyfriend for our birthday trip. During my trip I chipped the side of my nail and ruined the manicure I had on. It was the start of the trip. I had to do something about it, so I called around a few shops near my hotel. Majority of the first choices that I called were all booked up. Then I found Apple Nails, my boyfriend called for me to see if they had any availability, they told us to come in at 6:15pm. As I got there, it was two ladies working on one client. She said it will only take a couple of minutes for them to finish up. So I sat by the waiting area, one of the ladies were kind enough to direct me to one of the massaging chairs and set it up for me while I wait. ( That was very nice of them. ) After 10 minutes, one of the other lady's came over and asked if I had gel on still? I said yes. She then started preparing the foils and nail polish remover for me. After she was done, I continue to sit there and wait on them to finish up there previous client. In my head I was wondering if they would show me any gel color charts or colors for me to choose? I literally sat there for another 20 minutes and I can feel the tip of my fingers getting soaked for too long under the foils..what's worse is after they had finished up on their client they sat me down and started taking my gel off very quick like she had somewhere to be..when she asked if I wanted to cut my nails, I said yes. The lady pulled out the nail clipper and started cutting down to the nail bed. You would think they would ask how short you want them? No! As she finished cutting my nails, she started sanding them down and I can feel it sanding the tip of my fingers as well...during the whole process I can only say one word; RUSH! Honestly you could have told me you don't have any more booking and I would of called somewhere else to get my manicure done somewhere else. As the lady was about to apply color on, an elderly women came in and waved at her, I'm assuming it to be her ride? The lady then said it was her mother and was waiting for her to go dinner. Now I see what's going on..so she is really in a rush...so she started applying very quickly to try to finish me up. My whole manicure time took 30 minutes or less in total. I know for a fact I won't be coming back here since I'm just here for vacation. However I want to let further customers know, Incase you might want to consider this fact. As a first timer here just for one service, I was not happy at all. Good luck! read more

My friend and I wanted to do our nails last minute, so we were calling various salons, asking if they would accept any walk-ins. Of course they were booked for the day, but luckily, we came upon Apple Nails. We found this location on yelp, and I noticed that the place had good reviews. I called and I assume that it was the owner that answered, greeted me nicely, and had the time to take in 2 walk-ins!! As we were approaching the place, I was a bit concerned about parking, but as we passed by the place, it said on the window that there was free parking at fabric mart. Anyways, I was in need of filling my acrylic nails and my friend wanted to do a full acrylic set. When we got in (it was 6:30pm), there were no customers--which was great because we had the technician to ourselves! Anyways, long story short, the nail technician did an amazing job within 30mins!! I have never been satisfied with my nails!! She took her time at a fast-pace (because she knew what she was doing), and she ensured that I get exactly what I wanted such as length and nail color.
