It is time I update this review. I feel like they have a whole new group of women since I wrote my review, because when I go in now I don't have any bad experiences, and I get excellent help. One thing I like about this place is you can get samples to take home to try out colors, or to see if you break out from face cleanser, or moisturizer. I have very sensitive skin, so this is really important to me. They seem to have hired pretty knowledgeable girls who know the right color matches. In the past I would not have said this. I am very picky when it comes to my hair, and make up products. There are a couple of products I recently tried, and I have been really liking them with no break outs. The Ole Heneriksen lines, and the make up wipes by Sephora. I don't care for the cucumber scented ones I recently purchased...I liked the coconut one better. I also really am liking the Born this way concealer by Too Faced. I sampled some foundation which was the Lancôme ( I use already) and Laura Mercier. I think I like the Laura Mercier better. I have been a faithful Lancôme user for many years, but I hate the scent they put in the foundation. The Laura Mercier powder I tried a sample of as well, compared to the Lancôme, MAC, and Clinique. Laura for the win. There are too many favorite shadows to list, and eye liners I have not tried here. I use MAC. I did really like the Too Faced mascara, but it doesn't last long. It seems to flake. It is beautiful on. I just can't stand the flakiness. I went back to the MAC. Might try another from here. Also the Benefit brow bar rocks! Danika is legit! She gets your Oscar the Grouch looking brows looking happy in no time. When she gets a free second she is great at helping chose the right colors, or product. read more

I have been a Sephora customer for nearly two decades and I have never had such awful experiences in one of their stores as the Eugene, OR location. The horrible experiences I have had in this store have made me decide to never give Sephora my business again. I have been in twice and both times it ranged from incredibly rude attitudes to desperate mania to 'help' me despite me declining assistance at least 3 times. Once I gave in, the 'help' they tried to offer was pushing me to buy the exact opposite type of product that I had asked for. When I say I want a natural looking matte eyeshadow palette I'm not sure how one would think that a super sparkly cakey palette fits the bill. The employees also seem to think they know more about cosmetics than anyone and were incredibly judgey when I came in bare faced, which is hilarious considering the lack of any skill at applying their own makeup. I would also emphasize the borderline deceptive sales practices at this location, but I am gathering that the lies I was fed about the return policy were more out of ignorance rather than malice. read more

I will say we were asked by two employees if we needed help so that's a plus, however both times were extremely condescending. I have a cane and am albino and know I am a shade 100 in Fenty. I needed help finding which foundation type to buy but the employee, without asking what I needed help with, assumed I didn't know my shade and said I would be 120. And when I corrected her she ended the conversation and walked away without helping us. The second employee looked me and my friend up and down very dirty as if we also didn't know anything. Overall it just rubbed me the wrong way. It seems like their employees are just very judgmental and assume no one knows makeup. read more

I've been to this location several times, unfortunately, it seems like there are always new employees here. Those employees have always been knowledgeable and helpful though. I've always had good experiences and been met with very friendly people. The only thing stopping me from giving this location 5 stars is that they are a smaller location and don't have some of the things I'd like, and a few times they've been out of stock on what I need. They do have a great return policy though, and while I've never needed to return anything, I'd image it's an easy process based on my interactions with the staff! read more

Every time I've been in this store the staff are snotty and really don't care to help with products. The staff is a bunch of young girls and no one has an ounce of maturity. I go to ULTA now where everyone is friendly and helpful. If They don't carry a product I want I'll just order it from the makeup companies website. Why was it so hard to help me experience the eyeliners that you sell? Number one, when I asked for help, you rolled your eyes. Excuse me, but YOU are the one who asked for a customer service job, not me. So, do your JOB! Number two, if you're applying my eyeliner, have me take a seat, don't apply eyeliner to a standing customer. Where are your CS skills? Go back to bed or just start all over again and seek a different job, this one is not for you. As for the customer, be prepared to answer your own questions because the few that work there won't look you in the eye and are too into themselves to be quality CS employees, so you're on your own. read more

Elizabeth is a beautiful person inside and out. My daughter had a horrible experience at the eyebrow waxing place where they basically removed 2/3 of her eyebrow, even though she stressed to them that she likes a full brow, and just wanted them cleaned up. She was barely holding it together when we arrived at Sephora and were greeted by Elizabeth. She recommended a great product and took her time showing my daughter how to apply different looks. She was very kind, positive and so so very helpful. She totally gets 5 stars! I deducted a star because the line was horrendous and it took forever to get out of there. Just when I thought Elizabeth couldn't get any better, she signaled us to come out to jewelry to get rung up. read more

I look forward to going in there every time when Neta is working. She has been beyond helpful with getting me the right skin care and face wash. Neta is always more than helpful and has great customer service skills. It's nice to have someone to relate on the skin care level. I enjoy seeing her and in fact look for her when I walk in lol. I trust her opinions on products and if I have a question she is more than helpful. If you go in there I would recommend seeing her if you have any questions about products, and she will also tell you first hand experience with products she uses. read more

This is my local Sephora. Let me start out by saying I have worked retail and I am a makeup artist. The staff, on every occasion I have been in on, have been rude and incredibly uninterested in helping even when they are slow and not doing any task work. They have so many great products but are usually out of stock of what I'm searching for (totally fine and not in their control). What they can control is at least greeting clients as they walk in and maybe giving a smile or something? I don't need to really even be assisted but I'm so sick of going in here and feeling incredibly unwelcome. Bummer! read more

I've only been to the Eugene Sephoria once. I looked online for " the best moisturizing lip balms" and Sephoria had 2 in the article, Bites and Fresh Sugar. I went in and asked about them, thinking I was going to take my chances and purchase them without being able to try them out. Bites alone is $26. This store has by far the worst customer service. They are incredibly unhelpful,bitter , snotty , lazy and rude I am never never coming back again.I tried to return items that I purchased from Oakway. Last week I came to return some items I accidentally brought a different credit card than the one I used to purchase it so I was unable to return them , okay I can understand that. Next time i brought in the right card and they still refused to return it because she said you can only do it at Oakway but last time I was there they had it all setup to return the items but when it came time to insert the card I realized I brought the wrong one, I told her this after she told me I can't return it at her location and she said that is imposible that there system can't do that and as If I was lying . I was literally there personally At that exact location last week and they gave me no problems except I accidentally brought a different card. They just didn't want to help and they were incredibly lazy. Never coming back to this crappy store it's tacky anyways. The new location at Oakway is much better with a more friendly helpful staff. read more

Every time I come into Sephora, I feel like I'm inconveniencing the staff if I ask a question. On several occasions, I've had to seek out employees and then stand there awkwardly while they finish their conversation before they help me. I love this Sephora. The only thing is they're always missing the "try me" products which is a bit annoying but I realize that's not really their fault. Also the staff can be kind of annoying because every like 5 seconds they ask you if you need any help. But I know they're just doing their job. But they're super helpful when you actually need help. i had a horrible experience returning a hair product I had received in the mail. I was trying to exchange it for a similar product of the same size and price. They acted like they could not find the price I had paid for it. And they said I needed a different receipt than the one that had come in my package. I suggested they look it up online...but they tried doing that and couldn't seem to find my record. That is strange as I had used my JCPenney master card and the store is in the middle of JCPenney and the back of the receipt in my package had said that was all I needed to return/exchange my item in person in the store. They kept making excuses for why they could not make the exchange...but finally called Sephora after trying to get rid of me for about 30 minutes. Of course at that point they got the info they needed and could make the exchange but by then I felt like crying and decided I would never set foot in the store again. read more

I went in looking for a specific shade of foundation, but they were out of it. The girl who was helping me was really sweet and gave me as much information as she could about when the next shipment would be in and you could tell she genuinely enjoyed her job. The woman at the counter was a different story. I bought a beauty blender and she asked if I wanted to get the beauty blender/cleanser combo instead. I politely declined saying I'd set a budget for myself and I really shouldn't go over it. She looked at me with such disgust and says, "Okay yeah... But it's only five dollars more." I just told her I wasn't interested and was okay with the things I'd chosen. She pushed for me to get the cleanser for a solid 5 minutes more to the point where I just bought it so she would leave me alone. I totally understand up-selling as I also work in retail, but if someone says no you just need to leave it at that, you don't know how much someone is wanting to spend. I then asked her if the Fenty primer would be restocked soon as they were out, and she again looked at me with so much judgement as if I'd asked some incredibly stupid question. She said they wouldn't get another shipment until the following week which was fine, but her pushiness and attitude towards me like I was some idiot was incredibly off putting. read more

Was lucky enough to have Alaisha (spelling might be wrong!) at the Sephora inside JC penny. I didn't feel pressured to make any purchases and she spent a long time patiently helping me pick out the right color of foundation for my face. This place is amazing and the workers are sweet but I wouldn't recommend going here if you want makeup done or to be shade matched. When I had my foundation applied here it was so light it looked like white face paint. Every foundation I've gotten here is about 4 shades to light or wrong undertone. read more
