I got greeted as soon as I walked into the store, they had a bunch of sales employees out on the floor and are very knowledgeable. They've got a huge variety of products in the section. Having recently relocated to the area, I was looking for a store to purchase beauty products. I had the good fortune to meet Kendra - what a lovely, kind and talented person. I am in my 60's., and was looking for face makeup that looked polished without looking like a cakey mask. She did a great job of picking and color matching the correct product. She understood what products to use given my age. She also recommended and applied eye makeup which looked terrific. I am thrilled with the results. She has a great command of skin care as a licensed esthetician and does brows as well. For Ulta Corporate - PLEASE upgrade the chairs. Uncomfortable (cut me off at the back of the thighs) slippery and sloping downward so I fought sliding off the entire time. The store is welcoming, with nice and personable professionals. I had the best Ulta customer service experience ever at the Eugene, OR store on 4-22-25. I was traveling from NorCal to Newport, OR for a birthday celebration in my honor. About half-way there, I discovered I had left my makeup bag at home. I googled and thankfully found an Ulta store an hour or so away. Upon arrival, I was promptly greeted by Shelby. SHE WAS AWESOME. She totally understood my situation and helped me find some cosmetics to tide me over for the next few days. She gave me a sample of a Clinique foundation which I loved. Most of my bag at home consisted of Ben Nye and Cinema Secrets products. I was not disappointed in the ones I used from Ulta as a replacement. They were great. Many, many thanks to Shelby for for her help in choosing and making me feel comfortable that I would be fine with my purchases, which I was. The last time I went shopping here was with my American mom in 2022. Specifically we were there to buy a gift for my American sister, who now lives up in Bremerton, Washington, west of Seattle. I bought her a makeup kit, since she absolutely loooooooooooooooooooooooooooves makeup! Now my friend, Kendra, who used to be my PSW (Personal Support Worker), which is a care provider, works there. I've been trying to get in touch with her since October 25, 2023, and I'm not sure I have her correct Email address and phone number. I called yesterday to find out if she's still there, but one of the workers, Crystal (I hope I spelled that right), told me she's currently on maternity leave! Do NOT go to the salon. My friend and I scheduled appointments for hair styling (+ makeup for her) in advance at the salon. We arrive early and they tell us that our stylists are still working on other customers and we can sit or walk around the store while we wait. (I'll note that we had our senior photos scheduled for later this day). An hour after our scheduled appointment time, which we spent waiting for our stylist, we ask them how much longer it will take. (Mind you they don't say anything to us in this hour we have been waiting). Finally they start working on my friend. I wait 10 more minutes and then they begin on me. Their offer of compensation was a free deep condition. Unfortunately that doesn't make up for us being late to our senior photoshoot that costed us hundreds of our hard earned dollars. I came in because I had received a hair service by Lisa and needed to buy shampoo & conditioner and a shower cap. I was upset because I really didn't want to spend $10 on a shower cap, and the manager Tiffany ended up giving me two from the salon free of charge. She even helped me fix my account because I didn't receive my points from my hair service. Her and another staff made it happen for me, and fixed my account where I got my points and even an extra coupon because of the trouble. I cannot thank you Tiffany enough for your kindness and really making it right me. You truly went above and beyond and thanks to you I was able to cash in my points and get some really great stuff that I haven't been able to buy myself in a really long time. I hadn't really thought much about this place when it opened. I noticed and knew about it, but I so rarely wear makeup these days. So I never really explored very far into it. I have gifts people have given me and such, but that was it. That was until yesterday. I was actually really impressed, which I didn't expect to be, given other reviews. It all started a couple weeks ago, when my mother was having a makeup class at the American Cancer Society. I had the brilliant idea to have a professional do my mom's makeup for the Elton John concert. I thought this would be a perfect compliment to her new wig, and just a chance to make her feel really good about herself. She shakes in her hands, so it's next to impossible to have her do her own makeup. I do it periodically, but I really wanted a professional to take care of it this time. I remembered my best friend's daughter worked there, so I asked him if she did makeup. You know, in conversation we ask how people are doing and you get a quick update, but don't really think twice about it. Until you need that little nugget of information. He gives me the info I need, and I make an appointment. I booked one online, but since I was doing both mom's and mine, I needed two. The online booking wont let you do two of the same service back to back. Annoying, but it makes sense, so people can't accidentally book multiple appointments. I had to call McKenna at the salon and change this. I came in with my mom yesterday and had such a fun time. We were greeted as we came in the store, which was really busy. Of course, it was Saturday. The woman who greeted us asked if we needed anything specific, which I said, McKenna. She sent us to the back of the store, kind of in a general direction, but said all the way in the back. A second one asked if she could help us as we were headed toward the back. She was closer and pointed out exactly where we needed to go. Perfect. When I went to cash out and pay for my services, the woman who helped me was nice. She was helpful, and never impatient. No one in the store was impatient. It was like we were the only ones there when they were dealing with us and sending us to the right area. The store itself is huge. It doesn't look nearly that big from the outside. I was impressed by how much inventory/stock they had in there. There's a million different choices and colors. There's something for everyone, and I saw many employees helping customers, giving them tips, helping them use a tester to try out colors. No one was lazy in the store, by any near means. We have our makeup done, and it was so much fun. McKenna is a sweetheart, and she clearly enjoys her job, she's personable, easy to chat with. She still helped customers nearby, answering questions or giving them directions in the store, sent other employees if the help required her to walk away from us. Everybody in the store was taken care of, it seemed like, nobody ignored. Both mom and I looked great when it was done. I was definitely impressed. So much so that I made another appointment for a second event I'm taking my mom to in April. Mom said with her wig and makeup done, that she felt like a regular person again. Not sick and dying. That's one hell of a compliment to both McKenna and me. I damn near cried, because she glowed for the rest of the night, and felt great about the way she looked. I told McKenna about it, and she was excited as well, stating this was exactly why she picked this profession and why she loved it so much. Would I return? Absolutely! I was impressed by the customer service provided in the store, and McKenna is a gem of an employee and knows her job very well. I would highly recommend McKenna if you're looking to get makeup done for a prom, wedding, or any special event. I had multiple compliments from people throughout the evening on how both mom and I looked. It was absolutely worth the money and well-spent to help make a special event that much more perfect. This is a great stop if you are looking for something super specific or even need to pick up a long list of items. Ulta covers all of the bases: Drug-store end of things up to high-end salon, makeup, etc. Overall, the prices seem fair (some things I was looking for were the same cost on Amazon). And always check the Ulta website for coupons before coming in if you can! I did not interact with staff except during check out, and that part was quick and pleasant. For some reason the ambience inside doesn't do anything for me though. I don't know what it is, but I never want to hang out and peruse the aisles. I've been in this store 4 or 5 times in the last 5 years. Each time I've entered the store I've been ignored. I'm a woman in my 60s with gray hair. Recently I entered the store and some younger females entered behind me. The door greeter ignored me and asked them if they wanted help. I did flag down another worker and said I needed assistance. She asked the person who ignored me if she could help me. They traded and she left to help the younger women leaving me with the original person who ignored me. I was looking for multiple items. She took me to the first one and then pointed across the store to where the others were at. Horrid service. I keep hoping that someone in management gets a clue and trains the employees to not ignore people who don't look like them. POC of color have complained of the same treatment. read more

I've been to this Ulta quite a few times with my close girlfriend. Sometimes they're sold out of product, but the staff have always been super helpful when we had questions. Today I picked up a product to read the box, and it set off the alarm tag on the unit behind the one I picked up. I held the item in my hand and waved to staff. The woman approached and said "was it one of you?", in an accusatory tone. I clearly waved her over, so it was kind of surprising she was so rude. She then ordered a security sweep of the store (we've all had retail days & know what's up), and the same woman proceeded to approach us THREE separate times within an hour to "check on us to see if we needed anything". I wish I caught her name, but I honestly just wanted her to leave us alone after politely telling her we didn't need help. We've spent a lot of money here over the past few months as we're recently vaccinated and felt it safe enough to shop in person. We both studied chemistry and like to spend time reading ingredients lists to compare products. Being stalked as we shopped made us really uncomfortable. read more

I put all my purchases on the cashier counter, she rang up my purchases and I paid. Only then did I realize I had a 20 percent off coupon for all items. So i went to Ulta Beauty Salon in Springfield to get my hair cut like the one in the picture. I showed the lady a pictue of the style of cut i wanted. I had the same cut five years ago. It shows both side front and back of the style of cut i wanted. This is what they did to me. How in the hell do you mess that up this bad. My hair was plenty long enough to cut it correctly. So the manager evened the sides a bit. Agreeded it was a little to short. Um not not a little to short its completly wrong cut period. The he said that the cut was free. Um yeah im not paying for the fuck up and then they said i could come back in after it grows out some and they will shape it more for me for free. I will never go back to them again. Its cut so short in the back that you can see my natural hair color in spots and it makes it look like i got a really bad dye job. I know it will grow back but until it does i have to go around looking like a boy. My 3 yr old could of cut my hair better. Next time i will probly let my 3 yr old do it if this is whats going to happen. read more

I walked in to just take a look and walked out with wayyyy too much, but all good stuff. Make up, shampoo/conditioner, perfume and ,basically, everything a woman needs to keep up the appearances ;-) If you're in the mood you can also visit the hair stylist/beautician in the store. Went to Ulta to get a haircut before my daughter's graduation. I was very skeptic because a new guy (Tommy) was going to cut my hair instead of my regular expert. I was nervous the entire time Tommy was cutting my hair because he didn't seem confident on what he was doing. He kept asking and confirming if he was doing what I wanted him to do with my hair. After over an hour he finally finished. I thought it looked ok but I knew the ultimate test would be when I wash and style it myself when I get home. I left him a tip anyway because he was VERY nice. To this day (a month after), I LOVE, LOVE my haircut. Tommy did such a great job. I have been looking for someone to cut my hair like this ever since I lost my longtime hairstylist over 10 years ago. So I'll get down to the bottom of it. This Ulta is really bad. I had to go back 3 times to return their KAT VON D tattoo eyeliner. When I first brought it home I noticed that the eyeliner was completely dried out. I thought it was just that specific pen, I tell the manager and she checks out the other ones and it turns out they had a bad batch of the entire product. I go back later to that store and an employee tells me that they fixed the issue and there shouldn't be a problem. Low and behold, the same thing happened again. So basically they knew this was a bad shipment and they were still selling a faulty product on their shelves knowing they had a bad shipment. That's shady. Don't sell faulty products and try to sell.
