I am giving one star because I had made an initial appointment with Dr.Jewell which I drove 3 hours to do, paid for a hotel, and was seen for about 45 minutes. I paid their $1k down payment and made my appointment. Then Covid hit. I was scheduled the week before we were required to shelter in place and when I called to let them know I didn't feel comfortable having elective surgery during a pandemic, Mary tried to discourage me saying it would be fine. When I persisted, she basically said "well you probably won't get your deposit back" So, I planned on scheduling when things were better. Fast forward a couple months and while my life struggled (soon to be single mom, small business owner) I realized I no longer would have the money to do this even though I really wanted to. When I called to let them know that due to the pandemic I could no longer afford to complete the procedure, Mary once again didn't want to give me any of my deposit back. After persisting, and being brought to tears, she said "well, we can give you half". I was seen once, for 45 min. That's not worth $500. Charge me a consult fee, I get it. But don't keep my money you didn't earn. That's stealing. And this was not a situation that anyone could have helped. When I told her I didn't think that was fair, her response to me was "do you want the $500 or not?" Rude, unfeeling, and just plain wrong. I gave the Doctor time to respond to me before I wrote this, to which I never received a reply. I doubt you will find yourself in my situation, but it just showed me what this office actually cares about. Money. Not the individual that walks through their door. I plan on having this procedure, but not with this office. You lost a customer. Just because I couldn't get it done now and needed to get back on my feet before I could reschedule, you threw me away. I hope that this review causes you to take a look at the poor way in which you treated someone who needed compassion and kindness not greedy rudeness. read more

**Don't come here if you need less than 25 units of botox** they will turn you away. I am very disappointed with my interaction a few minutes ago with the woman who answers the phone (I did not catch her name). I got botox out of state and need a touch up around just one of my eyes, probably just a few units. Well, I asked the woman how much Dr. Jewell charges per unit, I was told they don't do it like that and offer 25 units for $400. I explained my situation to her and that I only need a few and she said yeahhh we don't do that go back to where you got it. I again explained it was out of stare and I'm looking for someone to go to here. I am absolutely shocked that any business would turn away a a prospective client because I only need a few units, not 25 units of Botox. I recently moved to Eugene and am actively looking for a Dr. that can continue my Botox and filler treatments and unfortunately Dr. Jewell won't be the one. Adding to this two weeks later because I honestly had hoped for an apology and that someone would tell me they could do what I needed because I have heard great things about Dr. Jewell. But not the case, I will have to take my business elsewhere. read more

We have known and have been treated by Dr. Jewell and his par-excellent staff on many occasions over the now many years, including for 'full-thickness third-degree burns' and most recently to close a substantial 'wound' resulting from the large excision of a potentially serious face lesion. To try to say / describe just how well we have been treated at all level and the fine results on all occasions as so very personally focused as a 'just excellent' would be a serious and just inaccurate understatement of great magnitude. I sincerely cannot thank Dr. Jewell and his entire staff enough for the utmost care, concern, professionalism and kindness they have shown me. I had a breast reduction surgery and the entire experience from start to finish was as great as it could be! They billed it through my insurance with ease and got an approval in less than 2 weeks (after being told by another doctor that they rarely approve these and it wasn't worth the time). They made me feel comfortable and confident from the first phone call and initial consultation. They patiently answered all of my questions and addressed all of my concerns like it was perfectly normal for someone to be as nervous as I was and helped me work through the fear. The experience at the surgery center was terrific and then I woke up with no more neck pain. It was amazing! Then back to the doctor's office the next day for a very kind meeting, helping me understand what was next and what to expect. Then drain removal and again, such a kind experience and then even helping finding new bras and adjusting to my new body. I had the personal cell phone number for the nurse if I had any questions, which I did and she answered quickly. What a kind and caring group of people and I can't imagine a better experience. And the results? Well, everything turned out great and I think the results are amazing! I'm not yet completely healed, but I can tell that I'm going to look great in the end. If you are considering this surgery, don't hesitate and I would do it all over again and I would 100% go through Dr. Jewell again too. In the wide world of Asthetic Plastic Surgery there are Board Certified Asthetic Plastic Surgeons, and there are Artists. Rarely do these two talents (dare I say necessary talents) exist in the same vessel. In Dr. Jewell, they do. And it is magic. Online research will aprise you of Dr. Jewell's many accolades and high opinion his colleagues have of him. These are huge comforts from the patient perspective for me: I have always "known" what I have "liked" or "not liked" about my appearance, but putting my finger on exactly what needs to be altered in order to acheive my desired look is something few patient's can do well and I too suffer poorly at this. Dr. Jewell's years of experience and reputation give me comfort that he does indeed know more about what will improve my overall "look" than I do. Google "face symmetry plastic surgery" and photos of men and women all over the world will pop up -- The Good and The Bad. What WE think we have always wanted (a smaller nose, more prominent chin, higher cheekbones) is NOT ALWAYS WHAT LOOKS BEST. Dr. Jewell listens well and his talent allows him to give us many of the things we ask for... But when Dr. Jewell makes a suggestion -- this is when you are really getting what you pay for! If you disagree, talk it through with him! His bedside manner is wonderfully caring -- he wants you to be comfortable with the decision the two of you make together. Several times I have "put off" a small tweek or filler change he suggested so I could do more research at home before deciding...but I'm so glad I take his suggestions into account. Because when I finally made the decision to "pull the trigger" so to speak, on my first filler (after he and I spoke at length about my anti-aging goals at a consult) - I was shocked at what an amazing difference such a tiny bit of filler in the hands of a well practiced artist could do. I still error on the side of "less is more" -- and I love that Dr. Jewell is conservative in his practice as well. I will always do my research. But I will always take his suggestion into heavy account. Dr. Jewell creates a balance between two halves. He takes his time carefully sculpting certain areas, improving the definition, shape, and contour -- taking into consideration my desired look as well as what would look most natural and balance out my face. He is a genie in a bottle =) I first met Dr. Jewell and his staff in 2011 when I had my breast augmentation after having three children. I didnt want a "new me", I just wanted the "old me" back =) His staff was incredible. They were patient with me as I was quite nervous about coming out of this surgery looking like a different person. I must have gone in 5 or 6 times before coming to the conclusion that I trusted my future appearance and health in his hands. Since then I have routinely gone back for occassional fillers, Botox to alleviate the furrowed brow many of us mommies have from bending over late night homework sessions with our kids, and have even started a wonderful anti-aging skin routine in his Medi Spa area that has been such a great thing for my skin. I have friends who spend hundreds on face creams and facials at nice spas in town. I agree -- its nice to have a face massage and feel pampered for an hour on the regular. But for just a bit more you can actually acheive what those creams will never do -- you can walk out of Dr. Jewell's office with a younger looking you in just 1 appointment. Its noticable. But nobody will know what you did unless you tell them. Do your research. Know what you want. But listen to his advice and give it some consideration -- then jump in and smile. I had a breast reduction surgery from Dr. Jewell about 10 years ago. I was just on the web looking for a good dermatologist, and this popped up so I thought I'd leave a review. The great thing about my breasts is that I healed pretty quickly and without a lot of pain. However, for looks, there are a few things wrong. My nipples aren't at even levels. My right side is about half an inch higher up than my left. It wasn't even something I noticed until looking in the mirror one day without a bra on. I'm 35 now, and married and my husband doesn't care, but it really bothers me when I swim in public and such, that's when its the most noticable. The other problem is that my left nipple ended up distorted. my nipples were very large and had to be cut down, my right one turned out great, a perfect circle, but my left is scarred. I do have obvious scarring on my breasts, but again, I've been married for 16 years and I'm fine with that, the nipple thing is what I don't like. I will say my mother in law had breast cancer a couple years after I had my surgery and Dr. Jewell built her new breast and she was very happy with it. She chose not to do the nipple tattoo as she's in her 70's, but she was happy with the way her new breast matches the size of her healthy breast. I did get treated well in the doctor's offices. I went there when he was still downtown by Sacred Heart, and the staff was excellent. It's just the looks of my breasts that I don't like. read more

Talked to the doctor and showed pictures of the results I wanted at a consult and on the day of the procedure. He said he could achieve the same results. He starts to fill and then I point out an area that he didn't fill at all. He then proceeds to tell me that he can't do anything about it. So he actually fills out my brows for a "lift" when I wanted him to add volume to my eyelids. He didn't even do the procedure I wanted. I didn't need an eyebrow lift! He also used Juvedem instead of Restylane even though I specifically asked for Restylane at my consult. Now since Juvedem is hydrophilic, I'm starting to have pillow like bags under my eyes. To top it off I left his office with lumps of filler all over the place. I should have left looking like the final result with some swelling, not lumps of filler, occurring over the next couple of days. I had to have the lumps massaged out. Luckily I didn't just trust him and let the filler sit. I would have ended up completely disfigured. He also said there was no way to correct the effect which is completely false. You can use hydrolase to dissolve the filler. He may be considered an expert injector, but he did everything wrong. I wouldn't trust this guy with fillers ever! Oh, and don't even get me started on the fact that they cancelled my original appointment without telling me. read more
