I used to avoid doctors like the plague. Doing so ended up costing me a large part of my shoulder. Lesson learned. Dr Baird had the right amount of empathy for my particular situation balanced by a stern word of caution to avoid repeating the same. Her staff is top notch as I have not had to spend more than 5 minutes in the waiting area. She is concise and explains exactly what to expect. My appointment was with the PA-c Cheryl Bourgault I found her to be unconcerned with my medical history. did not fully asses my medical issues before trying to treat my condition. I felt like she was trying to push a drug on me without trying other things first. she also did not do proper testing before prescribing a medication. Her treatment caused my health issues to worsen. I am over 60 with a significant family history of skin cancer. I have seen many dermatologists in my life and have many sun related skin issues. I was seen by the PA. The appointment was unfriendly, brisk and not helpful. She did not listen to my at all. She did not answer my questions nor did she assist me with further treatments. She burned off several lesions that I noted had been treated similarly in the past without results. I had to pay out of pocket for those treatments and because they (again) did not work, I need to find another dermatologist to see to get my issues cared for. read more

I saw Diane Baird for an all-over body rash that was a side effect of a new medication. She told me it wasn't a new rash. She said it was an old one that I had just noticed. When I explained that it was indeed a new rash, she became hostile and insisted over and over that I had it for years. She also was adamant that medications didn't cause rashes although the most serious side effect of the new medication is stated as a rash on the warning that accompanied the medication. I didn't have a dermatologist in Eugene and kind of picked her because she took my insurance. I took it as a good sign that she didn't have any available appointments for two months out. WRONG! I waited a LONG time in her waiting room, a long time in the office itself, and then when she came in and I told her I wanted to have a full skin cancer screening, I almost felt like she looked at me like I was nuts. Well, maybe not nuts, but like it was an awkward request to be making (!). She looked my body over for approximately 1 minute and it did not feel like she was looking very carefully or in any hard to examine places. After the minute, she declared that I was "fine." After that, she asked me if I wanted to do anything about some of the acne on my face, which I've always had spots of. She wanted me on antibiotics and birth control, just like every other doctor trying to give you prescription after prescription instead of discussing your lifestyle or addressing root causes of the issue. I refused both, and she wrote me a prescription for "an antibiotic cream for acne" that should help. When I went to fill it, it was probably the most expensive cream I have ever heard of at like $85 w/ insurance. Not her fault probably, but this would be a talking point if I were a doctor. To make matters worse, I looked it up and it turns out it's an ointment for rosacea, which I know I do not have and she never discussed. My appointment lasted roughly 7 minutes total. Is a friendly demeanor, a little professionalism, and 15 minutes of time that much to ask for in a doctor? Needless to say, I won't be headed back. read more

I saw the PA Cheryl Bourgault. She gave me powerful Retin-A Tretinoin skin cream for wrinkles with absolutely no instructions for use of this cream verbally or on the prescription. As a result I used too much of the cream too frequently which caused terrible burning on my face and neck. I fear permanent skin damage but I don't know. read more

My review is for Cheryl Bourgault PA-C, who works with Dr. Baird. I moved from New York City to Eugene about a month and a half ago for school, and I needed to find a dermatologist who could continue to maintain my prescription for Humira (I take it for psoriasis). I made my appointment several weeks ago and found the office to be very receptive and kind; they mailed me my paperwork in advance to save time in the waiting room, and the receptionist who helped me couldn't have been nicer, despite the fact that I haven't yet received my insurance card from the school. I will admit that I was hesitant about seeing a PA instead of a MD, mainly because I had always seen a MD back in NYC, but that turned out to be a completely unfounded fear. Cheryl was very kind and had a great bedside manner, even chatting with me a bit about school (her husband, like me, is also a PhD student at UO, and, like me, she went to school in North Carolina). Overall I was quite pleased with my visit--Cheryl even offered to get me a Humira sample to tide me over until the health insurance/prescription paperwork goes through. I feel like I was treated exceptionally well, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to a friend or colleague. read more

It was a terrible experience! BE AWARE!!!!!!! -Don't trust the clinic about the insurance part too much. The business dept. didn't tell the truth. What the dept. estimated to me was TOTALLY WRONG and OFF even though they had my entire health insurance information. -Find the second opinon if the doctor asks you to do the surgery. She does like to do surgery. (She would persuade the patients so bad. After the surgery was done, asking her some questions, the patinets would find out it was not that necessary at all to do the surgery.) read more

Terrible! The physicians's assistant assessed my benign cyst and discussed removal with me for less than 3 minutes total office time. For that I am being billed nearly $200. What a rip off!! read more
