Upon arrival I was greeted very warmly at the door and the young lady asked if so was looking for anything in particular and I said Eyebrows, she called over the radio and within a moment an lovey lady by the name of Jade approached me and helped me with my request. She was extremely knowledgeable in the products that she showed me and also put them on me giving me tips on how to use the product properly. She also recommended other products which I bought. This store is dangerous just like MAC because your intent is to only buy one item and you walk out of there with a few more items that totaled over $200. I used to be a die hard MAC makeup and skin products fan. However, because my sister gave me Shu Uemura's eye lash curler as well as someone ooohing and ahhing over the Fiberwig Mascara by Imju...I developed an affair with Sephora. While I raved about the brushes and makeup cleaners of MAC, I secretly embraced the products of Sephora. While I raved about the skin care products of MAC, I was introduced and developed a relationship with First Aid Beauty sold at Sephora (NOTE: Great for any types of skin especially sensitive) And what truly hooked me was the brand "Aqua Eyes" eyeliner because it was waterproof and did not smear. What I like about Sephora is their awards points program because you can redeem it for makeup or skin care items. If you sign up for emails and offers, they'll remember your birthday and what girl does NOT like that especially if they have a special for you? The staff at the Pearlridge location is very helpful and knowledgeable if you have any questions. Another thing that is dangerous is their checkout line...there are some strategic travel or mini products surrounding you as you wait in line that will have you picking up and looking at each product. Then, before you realize it...you decide to buy those as well. Impulse shopping! I absolutely LOVE Sephora!! This great store features so many different brands of make-up, fragrance, skin care, and tools. I along with many other women out there could spend many hours in here just sampling their testers and admiring all of their fun make-up tools from their tweezers to their make-up brushes and false sparkly eyelashes. It's sooo much FUN!! I especially like their Pearlridge branch because I found the staff there much more pleasant and less pushy than their Ala Moana branch. Both the make-up artist and the cashier that helped me were very friendly and easy to talk to. (Unlike one of the MAC make-up artists I have recently dealt with.) This store is located in Pearlridge in Uptown. The customer service here is great. Most of the time, the sales associates are very helpful. This store will definitely have what you are looking for. And if you can't find it, they have excellent and knowledgeable workers who can help. The employees really try to help you meet your needs and don't pressure you to buy anything. This location is less crowded than the Ala Moana location and usually is pretty well stocked. Only some items such as the tokidoki line when it came out was completely out of stock which can be expected due to high demand. I love their Bare Escentuals makeup and now they have a hello Kitty makeup line. I knew I was holding out on writing a review for some reason! ;) Both makeup lines go on smoothly and are great quality. They have some great products for all budgets. They have a great selection of perfumes/colognes, skin care products and makeup lines. Their own Sephora brand is very affordable and pretty good. I've used their eye pencils and brow gel. I am not a big fan of their body products (lotion, bath gel). This place is great also for tons of tools like various tweezers, makeup brushes, nail files, etc. Also if you get a gift, there is no problem exchanging it with or without a gift receipt and there's no time limit. They have a great perks program to join that's free too. Beauty Insider is a great points program too. Once you accumulate so many points, you can redeem it for sample beauty products or perfumes/colognes. You also get special deals and coupons for free stuff. If I could give this visit less than one star I definitely would. I'm a regular customer, with a rouge VIB card and was disgusted by the way I was treated. I was greeted by every single associate; however, as soon as I grabbed a pair of my favorite lashes, they swarmed to me like glittery wasps. Three of the employees asked me how I was a SECOND time. A fourth actually asked me "do you need a bag for those lashes babe?". Way to be discreet! I work retail too and know a recovery statement when I hear one. I was then followed around by 3 other employees and heard them talking on their radios about me. Another employee made a beeline across the store to fix a display directly behind me. I've never been more offended and disrespected and it took everything not to cause a scene. I grew tired of pretending not to be bothered, put my lashes away in the right spot and took my business to the MAC next door. I like coming here on my lunch breaks, it makes me happy to try on products without the constant supervision and pushy salespeople. Sephora is located in the Macy's side of Pearlridge, upstairs by the escalators. There is always cheerful music playing and it's very clean. The workers are always pleasant and attentive. I'm glad Sephora has their own lines of makeup, they are pretty good. There is a wide variety of brands for your personal hygiene and beauty. You can walk in a plain Jane and walk out an awesome smelling rockstar. If you spend $50 on makeup, you can get a free makeover too. I also like the points program. Every dollar you spend gets a point that you can use for a free gift. They also give you a present on your birthday. The lipsticks they gave this year was great and super convenient when I went to Las Vegas. Every item you buy is wrapped in red tissue and given in a cute striped bag. I came here for a color match & new foundation. I worked with the guy who's a "manager" and "travels all over the world with Sephora to promote make up" & gets "so much free make up". He kept making the rudest side comments to me about my skin. I was recovering from cystic acne & a sunburn and he would make comments telling me my skin is "gross" or "trash" like I don't already know my skin. Very disappointed in the service at this location. I walked in hoping to find someone to help me. I had walked all the way in the back where I saw (2) workers. I asked one of them where the eyeliners were and had wanted to ask them which one was popular. She had told me to "go towards the mirrors and that's where they're located". Stop by this location today only because I was in the area. I usually go to the Kapolei location. It used to be a 5 star In my book, but it seems it's gone a little down. When Fenty Beauty launched, I was excited to try it so I decided to head over to the local Sephora store. I was utterly shocked with how nasty many of the employees were at the store. Nobody greeted me and one of the makeup artists made a comment about how large my family was. I tested for my color and still nobody came to help. When I looked to get help they rushed by to act like they were busy with other customers. I had heard that Sephora is the Walmart of the beauty industry and after my terrible experience I will warn others. My only thing that doesn't make me give them the 5 stars that they deserve, was I did ask the worker where the ATM was, (so I could make sure my debit didn't decline if I decided to spend more than I was thinking), and the response was, "I have no idea. Went in today and bought two make-up kits for my 17yr old sister's bday. I was helped by Saphaire. Let me start this off by saying: I don't expect much from sales associates. Most of the time, I prefer not to be bothered. Let me do my thing, and you do you. When I do ask for help, however, I expect to be helped. If you're rude to me, whatever. If you're rude to one of my family members oh hellllllllllllll no. *woo sah* We come in on a Saturday night. The store doesn't look packed or anything. I ask for help finding a good foundation for my mom (who is with me). The first guy who was so friendly and helpful goes to find a makeup specialist or whatever who comes back. He chooses a shade and applies it to a small area of her face. It looks great! yay! But she wants to see how the coverage is on a different area of her face so she asks (very sweetly...she is literally the sweetest woman you will ever meet) if he would be able to help her apply it to that area. He got a little annoyed, took a sharp breath and said ya well I'm the only one on the floor right now so I'm gonna just give you this and you can try it out. At first I'm like, oh poor thing, he's the only one on the floor! He must be so stressed out. Then I see him go solicit someone else, have her sit down and help her for like 2 minutes. We're still looking in the mirror trying to see if it's what she wants. We go back to look at the display and I see him just talking story. He looks at us and continues talking story. Okay, not feeling so empathetic now. He doesn't even come over to make sure that everything was okay. We were still looking at the display so obviously he didn't fulfill our needs, but whatever. I guess ensuring our satisfaction wasn't his primary concern--it was getting rid of us so he could jibber jabber with his co-worker. I go to get rung up and the girl is annoyed I don't have my VIB card. and spoke to us with a blank look on her face and a monotone voice. She asked if I wanted to redeem my points, so I asked my mom if she wanted anything. The cashier gets even more annoyed, so I look behind me and see NO ONE THERE. JUST BEWARE THAT even if u return items with a receipt and unopened, they HIRE A 3RD PARTY to monitor EVERY SINGLE RETURN. So as far as I can tell, I'm pretty much the second guy to write a review here. No shame, right? No, I didn't come here for cologne. I actually have been battling an onset of adult acne. I'm seeing a dermatologist, so what he's given me hasn't kicked in yet and in the meantime, I'm embarrassed and need a way to hide blemishes on my neck. I get the attention of one of the fully made up girls in black. I tell her my dilemma and try my best to walk her towards the back, even though I have no idea where I'm going. I did my research on acne concealers and had my list that made it easy for her. We tried them all and she handed me an applicator and a mirror to check how things blended. I nervously make small talk and ask if she's known of other guys that have come here for the same thing. She says, "ah, no, not really." Geez! I could literally feel my balls shrink at that very moment. Then she says, "Oh, yeah, this guy came in once looking for a new line of men's makeup. Is that something you'd be interested in too?" I went here to exchange a makeup brush I got from the Ala Moana location for a different one. I had used a 20% off VIB coupon on my original purchase. When I went to the register, this flamboyant male employee wasn't sure how to handle the exchange because I had used a coupon. So he calls a manager and she takes my receipt to the back I guess to consult with someone else. She returns and tells the guy what to do. He tells me that they can only credit me back the amount I paid for the brush as store credit or put it back on my credit card. Then I would have to buy the new brush without the 20% off discount because the coupon was only good for one-time use. This made no sense to me because they should be able to just credit me back the difference (the new brush I wanted was $2 less than the first brush). Most stores I've been to were able to do something like this, so why not Sephora? It's not as if losing $2 would force them into bankruptcy. So I tell him that I will just return the first brush and that I wasn't going to buy the new one. He says okay. But after he processes the return, he starts the transaction for the new brush. I tell him no I'm not going to get it. He rudely says "SO WE'RE DONE HERE THEN?!" with his high nose-I'm better than you attitude and huge glasses. I say yes and he hands me my receipts in a sassy way. I will never go to this Sephora location ever again and I highly urge you all to avoid this one too unless you enjoy being mistreated! The perks for being a VIB are awesome! This Christmas, I received a card from Sephora giving me $20 off my next purchase of $50 or more. I am in love with their Lavanila products. I also adore how the sales associates don't stalk you when you are browsing their products like how the commission-based beauty consultants at department stores do. Love this location! You will never have trouble finding what you need, whether it's being a new foundation or that perfect eyeshadow shade. The customer service here is awesome! My skills of choosing my right foundation shade is in the negatives so I always have an artist help me. On my last visit a lovely gentlemen helped me (I wish I remembered his name!), I told him I was looking for a foundation that has full coverage and won't make me any more shiny then I already am. He pointed out the CoverFX cream foundation and we headed to the makeup station. I told him that I have oily skin and breakout a lot. He asked me to break down my entire makeup removal process. After doing so he pointed out the flaws in my removal process and recommended a new moisturizer / primer and face cleanser that will completely wipe off my makeup. He never pushed any of the products that he recommended (excluding the foundation), instead he gave me a whole heap of samples to try out and told me to come back if I loved them. On a few occasions I asked if they had a certain item in stock (because the shelf was empty), instead of just checking the bottom drawer they'll actually go in the back and check. Love that! Tell me, how many of associates will actually drop what their doing and check back stock? Rarely! I walked out happy and I love the foundation! I came in as a first-time makeup buyer, so obviously, I was pretty clueless about everything. In a few minutes, a lady set me up with a makeup consultant AKA makeup teacher. Her name was Mariana and she was fantastic!! She wasn't annoyed or impatient with me that I didn't know anything, she was surprisingly very helpful and informative!! 1 hour later, she showed me all of her beauty tricks and tips and she even went through the trouble of writing down instructions for me (since I have extremely bad memory). She wrote down everything I would need (specific instructions and ingredients hehe) and she explained everything really carefully, right down to how to do brush strokes and etc. I am very very very pleasingly surprised at how much I've learned! Not only did I learn about makeup, but I also learned about how to take better care of my skin, as well BONUS! We ended up taking longer than I expected and staying back after closing hours (I felt horrible). Although it was past closing hours, she didn't seem in a rush to leave or she didn't seem annoyed, which I really appreciated. Having some retail background, I know how inconvenient it could be when customers come after closing hours and make workers stay back even later, so hey, I felt really bad. She made sure I was well taken care of, right down to the small brushes I wanted! Anyway, alls I gotta say is, if you're looking for some help in this area, I highly recommend asking for Mariana!!!!
