This store set the bar high for my future visits to Sephora. The reason for my visit was very special and I sure felt (not to mention looked) incredible afterwards. I made an appointment at Sephora to get my makeup done prior to my engagement pictures. Krystal (spelling?) did my makeup and OMG is she talented!! She spent an hour making my face into a masterpiece. It was definitely much more than what I ever expected! Especially considering I only had to spend $50 on products in order to get this awesome look. Additionally, everyone I talked to in this store was so helpful and so friendly. All of the girls wanted to hear about my engagement, wedding plans and my trip (I was on vacation). They really made it special for me and I am so thankful! I usually go to the AlaMoana location but I was closer to this store a couple of days ago. I was just browsing products when I noticed how much calmer it felt in this location vs the crowds in Alamoana. I was very satisfied with the customer service here as well I didn't need wait to speak to a consultant. I bought a few products with the help of the workers and was out in a breeze! Sephora... located in Pearlridge Center; Uptown. Sephora... you are dangerous!! Normally I'm not much of a shopper. Every once in a while I'll get into a "mood". Mood for shoes... mood for Victoria's Secret... mood for jeans... mood for purses... mood for sunglasses... etc etc. I never need a "mood" to go into Sephora. There are so many products that you could spend hours in here! On my second to last visit, Daddy took me on my annual Xmas shopping spree. We stopped by Sephora and I really wasn't interested in anything... and then... he ended up spending $300 on stuff... bwahaha! I really like the MakeUp Forever lipstick, lip liner, and lip gloss. I got all of those. I also got a Bumble and Bumble spray for my long hair. I also got a T3 rod to curl my hair. I got some Dr. Brandt items to reduce the size of my poors. I got some Boscia poor strips, Philosophy makeup remover, oh gosh the list goes on! You can ALWAYS find SOMETHING new to buy!!! It's DANGEROUS lol!!! Ask for MELVEEN.. she's absolutely a sweetie! She curled my hair for me with the T3 and although it's pricey, she showed me how it's SO worth it! She curled all my hair (I have hair PAST my waist) and she did it in less than 20 minutes! I just visited Sephora with my mom to help get her a new foundation. Today we were instantly greeted by numerous workers with a happy smile. Tara was the sales rep that helped us out. So go see her cause she is awesome!!!! She color matched my mom for a few foundations and was very patient with all the questions we had. She also gave us her own foundation advice as to what she thinks is good. When we were finally done she gave us a few samples too! I really like this Sephora, not too crowded and the workers are always very helpful. Went yesterday to purchase new brush heads for my Clarisonic. While I was there I inquired about sunscreen (haven't found a daily sunscreen that I am in love with) so I asked one of the workers for suggestions. While the lady I first spoke to was very nice, she didn't really seem to know much about it so she directed me to someone else. Great customer service if you ask me, getting someone else with more knowledge in the area instead of bs'ing me or telling me idk (that's the kind of service you get at Ulta at Pearl Highlands!). The second woman that helped made great suggestions and also was able to tell me the difference between Tatcha Water Cream and Dewy Skin Cream (just a question I had when walking past it to look at the sunscreen). I ended up purchasing the brush heads and a sunscreen so she was definitely a good salesperson. Would've gave five stars but was slightly annoyed that the item I wanted to get with my beauty rewards was not available because they didn't get it in their shipment and also didn't know if they were ever going to get it. She sat me down put it on for me she was so helpful and made me comfortable I told her what I wanted she gave me that didn't try to push anything on me. Sephora is my favorite store of all time. I actually prefer the Pearlridge store because it's so much less crowded than the Ala Moana location. Granted, I believe the Ala Moana location is a flagship store, so they have a slightly bigger selection. But honestly, I'm an insane makeup hoarder, and the Pearlridge has everything I need, and more. I also find that this location seems to be better stocked. The Ala Moana store is so often sold out of the exact thing I want or need. The staff are always friendly and helpful and not the least bit pushy. They are usually able to recommend me a couple of options for what I ask for, and they never try to up-sell by offering me the most expensive products first. I also find that the staff at this location are much more forthcoming with the samples, nor do they ever turn me down if I have to ask for one. I use several of the Sephora brand products. They are decent and super cheap, compared to every other brand in the store. Great for experimenting with new colors and whatnot. However, some that I've tried are total garbage quality-wise, so it's hit or miss. I'm referring primarily to the liquid eye liner. Lots of fun colors, but takes about five or six coats to get bright coverage and does not last. I'm absolutely crazy about the harmony trio bronzer. Every time I wear it, someone comments on how good my skin looks. Their powder eyeshadows are perfect for experimenting with new shades. Who knew how much I would dig blue? I'm judging this store based on my comfort level. I hate crowds, pushiness, and people all over me while I'm trying to shop. Sephora Pearlridge is a perfectly pleasurable, stress--free shopping experience. Not to mention...who really wants to deal with town traffic just for an extra brand name or two? read more

Visited the PR location in the evening to purchase cosmetics for my daughter, which both of us has individual accounts, being loyal customers. Cashier mentioned that I couldn't pay for my daughter's merchandise with my credit card bc she gave her phone number for points. This has never been mentioned in the past. We have been loyal sephora customers... Til tonight. Who cares who pays for the merchandise? Money is money. We almost returned to the store to get a refund. They lost not just 1 customer tonight but 5, we'll be shopping at Ulta where you can actually be serviced quickly and not have to hunt for a sales rep for assistance and their promotions and selections are a better variety. read more

Every time I walk into this Sephora I don't get greeted & when I walk around the store out of the five times since we moved to the island that I've walked in there I've only received help once. I've had to return items twice & they never give cash back, only store credit. They seem to always be sold out of the most popular items. Overall their customer service needs work. read more

Poor layout of this store puts the cashiers towards the middle and back of the store instead of at the front of the store for high visibility and prevention of pilferage...Associates at the front of the store welcome you warmly, but it ends there. Further inside, associates are scarce or non-existant. When checking out, the cashier is perfunctory and unenthusiastic or engaging. "Spend your money on our make-up, then get out" is the clear message from this store. Shame! read more

It's a rare occasion that I venture out to Pearl City or Aiea during the hours that Pearlridge is open but when I do, I'm almost always happy. I was lucky enough to be enjoying the mall with my son, sister in law and nieces when I happened upon this immaculately clean Sephora location. It's organized and all of the samples are pristine...something I appreciate considering the rather gross testers you find at Ala Moana's location. Though this Sephora has less variety than Ala Moana, it is spacious and the employees are helpful and knowledgeable. I thoroughly enjoyed shopping here the other day and perhaps I'll venture out to Pearlridge more often just to visit this Sephora. My favorite part of this location is that they had EVERY single product I wanted to buy. I am usually rather unlucky and end up liking something that is popular and sold out. Thankfully, every item I coveted ended up in my shopping cart because there was a good amount of stock at this store. I suggest that if you are ever fortunate enough to happen upon this Sephora location, you find solace from the crowds and browse the isles of makeup, perfume and other beauty products!! read more

Before I came to Hawaii, ULTA and Sally's were my go-to places for beauty supplies. Because Sephora always seemed to have so much more selection than ULTA on their website, I would always end up ordering online. I enjoy going into the Sephora at Pearlridge. They have a much wider selection of brand names. The women who work there are very helpful, I haven't had such good customer service in any other beauty supply store. They are willing to help you sample products and aren't too pushy with their products. I also love the way they wrap up your purchases. It feels like I'm treating myself to a gift! First of all this is why I don't shop at "ALL" Sephora's. Not that often do we get decent customer service. Today I visited to a less enthusiastic and inattentive; "hi" or "welcome." While there were three employees on the floor walking around in circles asking other people if they needed help, I was only looked at and was not approached. Although one girl helped after she noticed my boyfriend got super irritated and asked for assistance. She was the first helpful associate I have ever encountered at Pearlridge Sephora. I didn't get her name, but she was nice. After she helped I went to the cash register to purchase. The guy there was asking for my email. I couldn't comprehend what he was saying due to the loud music. He then got irritated and impatient when no one was behind us in line. After I paid, he gave me a sarcastic look as if I was dumbfounded the whole time. Next time I'll shop at MAC next door or the makeup section downstairs in Macy's. It's a beauty crack store, I tell you! I would go to the Ala Moana one, but it's too far :( This one is good though :D They have the goodies I like to ogle at and if I am lucky, I will have enough money to get something from there :D I honestly don't bother to deal with the clerks, the few times that I went to ask for help, they didn't give me the time of day...but when I decided to say "eh, whatever, i'll look for it myself" they have one of the employees following me around like a vulture or like I'm going to steal something. I guess it's the way I dress? Either way, I thought it was a bit rude. I mean, if you spend that amount of time eyeballing me and following me around, why not approach me and help me when I ask? I lose my frustration when I get to the cashier, they're always, always friendly. It's in Uptown I think? I still haven't gotten the two down yet lol. There's a bunch of parking, but not all may be available nearby. You may have to walk a bit, but that's the fun of going to malls! Walk around, shop around, have a good time! That's what it's about for me, anyway lol. They have cosmetics to skincare and even fragrances. I love it alll! They have this beauty insider card thing, and I believe they give you a free gift for your birthday if you've signed up for one! It's cool! The Sephora store at Pearlridge is hands-down far and away better than the Ala Moana Center store. There is much less crowding and all of the staff from Arlene the Manager to Crystal the color and makeup specialist are extremely knowledgeable and a pure joy to be around! My wife an daughter took me to the Ala Moana store about 6-months ago so they could shop and do girl things while I carried bags for them and the staff there made me feel like an old pervert and one of the staffers humiliated me in front of a crowd of tourist by telling me they did not like "dirty old men cluttering up their store!" I had considered suing Sephora but after lots of calming and cajoling from my wife and daughter I went to the Pearlridge store today with my wife and what a delightful experience that was! As a direct result of the fun and knowledgeable staff in the persons of Crystal and Arlene, I spent nearly $500 on a Temptu airbrush makeup system for my wife along with tons of other makeup and some Jack Black lip balm for myself. I would highly recommend going to Sephora on the 2nd level of the Pearlridge Mall for all of your beauty needs. read more

When it comes to make-up I'm not familiar on how to use or what products to buy. Most times I'm just a casual window shopper when it comes to beauty stores such as: Sephora, Mac, Sally's Beauty, etc. But in need of a tinted moisturizer & with great customer service I made my very first purchase at this store. Heidi(sales associate) greeted me when I first entered the store & right from the beginning asked if I needed any assistance in finding anything. To make a long story short she patiently helped me pick the right tinted moisturizer & chose a foundation brush that I could use to apply the moisturizer. Not only that, but she taught me how to apply it with the brush. In this type of business excellent customer service is needed & that is exactly what I experienced. I am not what you call a "girly girl" at all. I don't wear make up. I usually don't "do" my hair. I like to keep things simple and as easy as possible. I do however, like to feel pretty from time to time. My girlfriends are always so well put together and made up when we go out for a night on the town and I always seem like the plain blah one and envy starts to rear it's ugly head. I've attempted to do my make up on my own, but I don't know what the hell I'm doing so I end up looking like Bozo or the creepy looking Asian lady from the "Grudge". So I call two places at the recommendation of a fellow yelp friend for make up consultation. First I called Sephora and the girl was some what rude and short with me and told me they were booked for a Saturday night (of course, it's prom season!) Then I called MAC and she was kind of short as well and informed me that a session would be $70! With no freebies (as in make up samples)! No thanks. I gave up after those two phone calls and decided I didn't care about looking like the plain one. A few days later, I had a change of heart and called Sephora back only because I saw a fellow yelper (who I think is pretty stylish and cool) check in. After reading his (yes I said his, Sephora is for guys too!) review and tips, I made the decision it was worth a shot. The girl who answered this time was a little bit nicer than the first and was able to fit me in at a good time for my schedule. When I got there earlier than my appointment time, I was greeted immediately and I was brought to a girl for a "face prep" (just a quickie face wash!) During my "face prep" Heather, the girl that did my make up approached me and introduced herself. She asked me questions as far as what "look" I was going for and gave me tips along the way. She was very nice and helpful, and she didn't make me look ridiculous or over done. More importantly, she wasn't pushy about selling me products and gave me several samples to take home. I was there for about an hour which includes the face prep, make up application, and check out. For a custom consultation, which is what I received, you're required to spend at least $50 on whatever you want. That's not bad considering I got a ton of samples and when I called MAC, it was $70 for the consultation only without any products. There's a good variety of high quality products to choose from and the employees are willing to help you decide which ones are best for you. They have a VIB program which is free and helps you accumulate points towards freebies. If they don't have a product in stock, they can order it for you and have it shipped to your house for free. They are located on the second floor of Pearl Ridge Up town next to MAC and across from Victoria's Secret. The only reason I'm docking a star is because I wish the make up consultation wasn't out in the open. I don't like being watched by passers by like a dog in the pet shop window. Also, the first time I called, the girl was some what rude. Other than that, I love Sephora! My husband can now have something else to complain about since I've found a new place to shop frequently! read more

Anyone who loves beauty/fashion will automatically go weak and into debt bc of this store. It has EVERYTHING!!! and when i mean everything, it even has things you didnt even thought you needed or exisited. Its uni-sex so boys and girls can go buckwild in here. If you need a color match or have questions with the product the workers are very helpful and can suggest alot of diffrent things. Last time i went they had that Pantone machine that could help you color match to any foundation in the store. I thought that was neat, since i have a funky undertone color. Let me start by saying that I am not a make-up type girl. Besides my Eos/chapsticks, I don't wear any make-up. For anything. So I generally avoid stores like this. Do you ever get that stand-off feeling when you walk in somewhere & you don't look like the "type" to be there? Totally me with make-up &, let's face it, Sephora is like the holy Mecca of everything beauty. But I stopped in yesterday anyway because I had some time to kill before my massage @ Body & Mind Spa plus I've been wanting to pick up some dry shampoo & I figured they'd have the best selections of the best brands. All the associates were very friendly. I couldn't have been wandering around in the hair care area for more than a minute before Kerri came over, asking if I was looking for anything in particular. She pointed out their best seller in dry shampoos & even discussed with me the CONS of it (very nice!) so I knew exactly what I was getting before spending a penny. I love the maze of impulse buys that make the line to check out. I would never pick up any of them ($30-$40 travel size perfume?? Heck no!) but it definitely keeps you busy while you wait your turn. I love going to Sephora. So much so that with all the free time I had after I graduated, I would go at least once a week. I was sooooo happy when they finally opened one in Pearlridge so I didn't have to go to Ala Moana and deal with the crowd. Its great, too, because you can try out different makeup lines and compare different brands. The staff are always approachable and ask if I need help. (One thing I will say though, even if its probably not their fault, but I have the Sephora app on my iPod and when I asked someone about the "Daily Obsession," she didn't know what I was talking about :\) On a recent visit, I was looking for a black liquid potted eyeliner. The person that helped me was very helpful, and her makeup was colorful and done quite nicely (so I felt like I could trust her judgement). I use a few Sephora products. I like the lipliners because they are just $5 and the longwear lipsticks don't dry out your lips. I also like the oil-free foundation primer. My face is usually pretty oily so I need it. I also have a lot of Sephora brushes. They had a great deal on a brush set a couple years back so it was a deal at the time. read more

Whether I wanted new eyeshadows or instruction on how to apply eyeshadows, or a new blush, lipstick or brush, I have always had great service! There are not enough Awesome words to fully describe how much I LOVE this store!!! I always get giddy thinking about even venturing near Sephora Pearlridge! Im like a kid in a candy store every time I'm in there. Lipsticks, eyeshadows, nail polishes and more. LOVE-LOVE!!! Something I love more than the products sold at Sephora is the awesome Team. I call them a team because thats what they are. Sherissa, Miles, Gary and Bernard are my absolute faves!! They are always willing to help me find the perfect shade of lip gloss or fill me in on the next in store event or even tell me what new Hello Kitty products are available. I absolutely love them. They sure make shopping and spending money very fun! I appreciate how Sephora offers samples of each product. It allows me to try what they have without having to purchase. But if I do purchase and am not happy with what I've bought, they have a no hassle exchange or return policy. That sure beats any big department store! I love how I can find almost every brand of makeup in one store. It makes it easy to compare multiple brands to find what suites me. Its so easy to spend $$$ and that is why I'm a VIB!!! read more

I just started getting into make up and for Christmas a I got a Sephora gift card for $50, so I figure I'd better spend it! But being a newbie and all, I didn't know where to begin. As I wondered around the store aimlessly an employee named Yalasia offered me some help and I was definitely willing to take it, she asked if I was looking for anything in particular and I told her I needed everything. Lemme tell you that $50 went quick! I ended up spending about $200 of my own money but it was well worth it! Yalasia was so helpful, she even shared a few tricks of her own with me. She sold me the beauty blender, which I love! I ended up buying brushes, liquid foundation, compact, bronzer, blush, all of which are Sephora brand. I also bought Urban Decay eye shadow primer, Buxom mascara, and a few other things that slipped my mind. I can't wait to go back there and buy more! read more

I came to Pearlridge to kill some time and walked into Sephora for a little beauty time. I was looking for a fire engine red lipstick (which I had no idea how to pick out because I don't even wear lipstick) and had one of the salesgirls help me. She was very patient and helped me pick out several colors and formulas based on my preferences. There is a little mirror section in the middle of the store where the makeup artists help you apply different products, and she had me sit down in front of the mirror while she walked me through how to apply the lipliner and lip color. I also was thinking about buying some Bumble & bumble products, but they are very pricey. Fortunately, another salesgirl gave me a generously-sized free sample! She even gave me tips on how to best use the product. I like the product and will return to buy the full-sized version. Great service, nice selection, and organized. Wow talk about bad customer service. So I went to the mall for shoes and realized I needed perfume. I rememembered my friend told me that sephora has it so I went there. Now when I walked in there I walked in with no make up. (I try to let my skin breathe when Im not at work or going out.) And immediately when I walked in I got looks of distain. (It seriously felt like they were thinking "Oh dear lord she's not wearing make up?!") But anyways after I walk in I get completely ignored. No welcome to sephora just a stare then they went back to talking to their friends. Well whatever. I looked and found that they did not have my perfume so I walked around the store. I was there for 15 minutes and I was ignored by the ENTIRE STAFF. Really? I guess it was more important to talk to their friends than to make a sale. I wont be coming back to sephora. If I absolutely need something I'll do what Cely H. does and order online or I'll just go to MAC or smashbox. Seriously please train your employees better. Can't believe it took me a long time to write something on this place, but my Dior Extase mascara had me thinking "Wow! I just love cosmetics :)" This has to be my absolute go to place for skin care and make up. It's the most convenient (two locations) to find all my go-to products which include the Clinique Clearing Moisturizer, Murad Witch Hazel toner, Phyto hair care products and the list goes on and on. What I really love are the coupons, discounts and promotions that this store has to offer. As a VIB (very important beauty insider) you get VIB only discounts and promotions. Plus you sometimes hear about items before the majority of the population. The one cool promotion going on right now is the Skin Care Challenge which involves purchasing about 8 skin care items which after the 8th you get a FULL REGULAR sized product of your choice!!! And what makes this place awesome is the help. Every time so far that I've been to the store, there's always a rep asking me if I need help. They're also so friendly to help me find my products and even introducing me to new ones like the unbelievable Dior Extase eye shadow that just came out. It's so awesome that it makes your eyelash curl without a curler or like when I tried it, make my weighed down lash curl :) If I had to equate this to something, I'd say Sephora is to me as a hardware store is to a guy (or girl who likes that stuff!). read more

How come I've never reviewed this place!? Sephora is my all time favorite store. While I love and sometimes prefer MAC products, it can be a little intimidating going into one of the stores or even just up to the counter. In Sephora I feel right at home. I prefer the Pearlridge location vs. Ala Moana because it's much less crowded and thus easier to browse around and test out products. The workers are helpful but will leave you alone if you'd prefer that, as I do. At the Ala Moana location there tends to be more workers so you're gonna have to tell each one a few times that, "Oh, no, I'm okay, just browsing." You can't blame them for not remembering that they just inquired with you two minutes ago as that location is just too crowded. So, unless you've been living in a cave you should be aware that you are able to test out every product sold at Sephora. This is AWESOME and funnn in my opinion...however, watch out when trying certain lip or eye products. Just be aware that some/ a lot of people will put the products directly to their mouths and eyeballs instead of using the available disposable aplicators, which means they are highly contaminated! I usually just swatch things on the back of my hand and hold it up to my face to be safe. Oh and you should also be aware of their extremely generous return policy. You can basically return any product at any time, no matter how long you've had it or how much of it you've used, for a full refund. I've never taken advantage of this though, not sure why. Did you know that you could go to sephora, and get a sample of an item, if its available, and then you can try it out for any allergic reactions or for color. I went one day to get a sample and Mehling helped me she was great, another day Maka also helped me. Both ladies were just outstanding, informative, professional and nice, especially Maka. I've waited a while to review this location since I kept thinking "ok, hmm let's give them another chance" but after about 5 visits here and being disappointed each time I think that's enough chances. I don't even know where to start. First of all, I really don't like how you have to keep trying to get someone to help you. Usually I try to get someones attention with eye contact but when that doesn't work I usually have to go up to a worker and ask for help. The greeters never greet you. The next thing is that I feel that their makeup samples are either missing, not in the right place or are just gross. I think the event that prompted me to write this review was my last visit a couple of weeks ago. I went into the store looking to buy a new foundation since I'm more tan and my current powder was too light. After trying to get someones attention, I found a girl and told her that I wanted to use the color IQ to help me find a new foundation color since I'm too dark for my current one. She has me follow her to the counter and she asks what I'm using now. I tell her my color and she disappears and comes back with a foundation that's one shade darker than my current one. She applies it on my face and asks me how that looks. I look at her and say it looks too dark. (Mind you, I already did this...I played with the different shades before I asked her for help! Since I couldn't find a color that matched me that's why I asked to use the color IQ!!) She then asks if I want to get that color.. Hmm if I said it's too dark why would I get a foundation that will make my face look darker than my body? I declined to buy the product and thanked her and just left. I love Sephora in general but this particular location is my favorite. It is not as crowded as the one in Ala Moana or Waikiki. They are many employees on the floor and they are very helpful. I usually go in the store without any makeup and try full makeup. read more

I like that I can get the stuff I like here...I also like the fact they have the reward card program. Most of the people are phenomenal...you have to be careful because every once and a while you get someone that looks like Crayola threw up in their face. Who doesn't love Sephora?!? Just don't come here when it's the holiday season. Last night when I went, the line was absurd. Good thing, I was like the 5th or 6th person in line.
