Had an afternoon appointment and pleasantly impressed by the availability of parking at Harbor Center. Located at the last row of the center you can see a nice view of the harbor as you turn left into the parking lot. Walking into the shop it looked nice, clean and welcoming. They use Vagaro to book their services. I booked the sugaring service which was very easy to do. You can pick a specific esthetician or like me it didn't matter who was available, I needed someone at a specific day and time. I had Maria as my esthetician, who was a total professional and super knowledgeable and friendly. Another person was there to check me in and she was just as friendly and professional as Maria. I randomly found this place on Yelp after looking for somewhere to get a back scrub.. I know, random lol. I've been having skin issues and needed some help so booked a back scrub about 2 weeks in advance with the owner :) There was no one else in there except just us 2 but she was really friendly so it didn't feel awkward. The first 20 mins or so was intense, lots of extraction and exfoliation :/ but I straight knocked out after she put a hot towel and did a light massage. She had to wake me up lol. She offered me some canned Arizona iced tea and water, then gave me a small exfoliation serum. Went here today to get my brows laminated/tinted, along with a lash lift/tint for the first time. I've got my eyebrows waxed here previously but wanted to try something new. This was my first time getting sugar waxed, and it was worth it! I got the Brazilian and the brazillian smooth. I've gotten waxed before in the past and it's been quite a while since, so I was a little nervous about jumping back in. However, the sugar wax was fantastic. Obviously it was still uncomfortable (comes with the territory ) but it went much quicker and was much more effective than previously. I'll be sticking with sugar waxing from here on out. My esthetician was Maria, and she was fabulous. Super chill and friendly, and she had some great breathing techniques that made a world of difference. I also got the Brazilian smooth, and it helped with sensitivity and soothing the red bumps after the waxing. Highly recommend doing this, especially if it's been a while. I was a virgin for a Brazilian, wax that it is, and was in dire need of one. I've always been shaving in an effort to save money and doing so in the comfort of my own home but lemme tell you..I just couldn't take it anymore. Life can be predictable, and so I went for the unexpected! It was my partner's birthday and I booked his very first facial! It's fair to say "Men" deserves some RnR time, don't you agree? Self-Care is for everyone! After contemplating which package he should do, I messaged via Yelp for recommendations. Business Owner, María was very patient with me and recommended exactly which customized services based on his needs. As I like to make sure all goes accordingly, she gave me reassurance and confidence! As we arrived, I dropped him off for his session with Esthetician Angie. After he went inside, I tried to sneak in to pay for his appt before he had gone and done it himself. There was a slight hiccup waiting outside with the kids for a while. Door was locked and no one had answered the phone for over half hour. I messaged Maria and she was able to take my payment via 3rd party app. The only downfall to this was that I was told the session would take 1 hr and 15 mins and it took 1 hr to complete. However, the upside to receiving a facial did him good! He looked glowy and radiant, such healthy skin feeling silky smooth! Angie made me feel at ease as she identified what type of skin I have and instantly knew what she would do for the facial. She briefly explained why my skin was oily and what she would be doing to remedy it. The facial began with a steam machine that opens up your pores and after proceeded to apply a cleanser to remove dirt and dead skin. Next came a facial massage which was designed to help drain fluid and improve your skin which was relaxing. She than applied a liquid to close the pores and this one actually had a slight burning sensation but she assured that it was doing its job. The final step was applying this gel mask over your entire face and this was cold and interesting, but felt nice. During the entire treatment Angie kept asking questions and checking to see if I was OK and not have it quiet and awkward. Went to get my brows done for the first time here at this location. I really loved the vibes, everyone was so very kind. Unfortunately though, my left brow was waxed thinner than my right i was given a mirror at the end to see results but what more can you do? It's not like you can undo a thin brow I had nice thick eyebrows and now I only have one thick eyebrow. and I don't say this to be dramatic but because my eyebrows is a favorite feature of mine. I also know the waxing process may be different for everyone but I felt the wax may not have been at the right temperature as I've had multiple waxings done with my brows and I personally feel that the consistency was not right as when she was placing it on my brows it would literally pull my whole eyelid and it definitely wasn't overlapping nicely.
