This is my second time coming here for a massage. I decided to give myself a little early birthday treat. It was super easy to schedule online. When you book your appointment, you pay ahead of time. They had called on Monday with an appointment reminder and sent a text yesterday. In these days when everything is go, go,go, these reminders are super helpful. When I walked in this evening to check in, the lady at the front was super nice and welcoming. I had my session with Kalani. She was super friendly and did a great job workingout all the knots i had. This place is located at Pearlridge at the center court (Macys side) but located on the second floor near the center court, the small hallway entrance is easy to miss. I came for a 45 minute full body massage for $61 which is a good price point for me and my therapist's name was Yukiko. She was fantastic, always checking on me to see if I was okay or if the pressure was okay, Some of the other therapists here talk the entire time and not massaging while talking that I didn't like in the past. Yukiko on the other hand was fantastic! She was mostly quiet except for asking me if i was okay then telling me after everything was done how tight my back was. Long story short: The masseuse is named Kalani. And if you don't want to feel like you're being bullied, do NOT go to her. I've been to Body Mind Spa many times in the past & have never had a major problem. Maybe a few minor hiccups, but nothing to warrant a negative review. But the most recent one...let's just say, I have never wanted to full-stop a massage & just walk out until this latest experience. I decided to schedule a one-hour with Kalani since my usual masseuse wasn't available. The beginning was fine; she was friendly & asked what my primary concern was. I explained that I was moving furniture around my home & was pretty sore from it. But for some reason, she didn't believe me. I don't know why I would lie about that, but she kept reiterating that my back muscles were too tight to just be from moving furniture. Okay... Then my massage quickly turned into her therapy session. She complained about her husband getting a new dog that she didn't want, about her son not visiting enough, about her clients mom getting hit & killed by a car, etc. I couldn't get a word in edgewise! At that point, I honestly thought she either had far too much caffeine, or was on the effects of speed. Eventually, the conversation veered towards me. And every single thing I told her about my life was belittled or just plain ridiculed. At one point I mentioned eating spam, which made her state she didn't eat pork because she didn't want to become a porker. Good to know. She also emphasized my butt was very small like I didn't have a butt, and that I should do squats because people like big butts now. Wonderful thing to hear when you're naked under a very thin sheet. At the end of my session, I pasted on a fake smile, thanked her, told the receptionist the massage was amazing to avoid any further conversation, and quickly left. I was too tired, too worn out, and too despondent for a confrontation. I just wanted to go home. I left my session stressed, self-conscious, and like I had to defend my own life choices to a complete stranger for an hour straight. When I on the whim wanted to get a reset on my neck and back and found a mall spa being one of the top near me I was pleasantly shocked at that especially at the relatively cheap prices but it follows through and then some! For a half hour that felt so much longer than that costing 40 bucks pre tip was amazing. My masseuse was running late so I had an uncle take me in instead. He did a good job being firm and my back actually feels looser and less bent out of shape. We also had a good conversation about the state of ball nowadays which was a welcome surprise considering most spas I've been to are more quiet. Had this saved in my drafts and thought it was lost. I've had a good experience with the company in the past when I went in for acupuncture. The staff that work in the acupuncture office located in the building next to Big City Diner were always friendly and accommodating. I went in for a walk-in massage in the mall location and got lucky that they had a cancellation. I had a great massage therapist and wanted to book an appointment for my dad. I called, made an appointment on May 4, 2024 and got a call on May 7, 2024 saying they need to change the massage therapist and I need to call back to confirm. Called back on May 8, 2024 and also got an email reminder for a 60min DEEP TISSUE, SWEDISH, or SPORTS massage. No one got back to me but I got the email confirmation and thought everything was good. Come the day of the appointment and I get a call saying that they have to change the massage therapist, they never heard back from me, AND then come to find out they booked the appointment as a FOOT massage. One word for this place, INCOMPETENT. I had a prescription from my Doctor for a massage and this place was listed as a provider with my Medical Insurance so I called on Tuesday 12/21 and asked if I could schedule an appointment and was able to on Sunday 12/26 at 10am. The receptionist confirmed that they took HMAA and to bring in my medical card and ID when I came in. I had also received a confirmation call on Friday, 12/24 to make sure I was coming to my appointment. Again, I was told to bring in my medical card and ID on the day of the appointment. I arrived at 9:50 to make sure I had enough time to fill out paperwork and give them copies of all my documents, including a written prescription from my Doctor for my massage. However, the receptionist working did not know what was going on and didn't know why I was giving her all my medical documents. She said that they don't accept my medical, only if it was for Workman's Comp. Anyways, 2 other coworkers came out and didn't know what was going on either so we went back and forth about the initial call I made to schedule the appointment and they had to call some Doctor Woo (maybe the owner) to confirm they took HMAA but he didn't answer. I was so over it, especially since there was a language barrier because the employees are ESL. I decided to leave because I can't deal with that level of incompetence. I suggest they remove themselves from being "PROVIDERS" for any medical insurance and basically train their employees on how to schedule appointments and maybe better in-house communication. read more

Great chiro experience! Yes, Body & Mind Spa provides chiropractic care for your back health. Dr. Craig first serviced me at another clinic where they adjusted my back quickly and sent me on my way. He since moved to Body & Mind Spa and is able to give longer services. First he hooked me up to an electric machine that tensed and relaxed the muscles in my back. Then he adjusted me by popping my lower back, neck, and upper back. No one can pop my upper back like Dr. Craig. Also, the staff at the front desk are really friendly. I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect when I walked into a shopping mall for my appointment. I found this business on yelp with good reviews and didn't realize it was in a shopping mall. I was a little apprehensive when I got to a counter that was sitting in the hallway between a Victoria's Secret and an elevator. Luckily, they had a nice quiet corner of the shopping mall where they do their massages appointments. I made a reservation for a deep tissue massage and it was great. I was really pleased with my masseuse. A couple of things to note, I was asked to pay for services and tip before were rendered. I assumed that this was because I had a later in the evening appointment and the front desk would be closed. They were still open when I went to leave. Not sure what the rush was there. As I mentioned, my appointment was later in the evening. So when the office staff was vacuuming it was a little disruptive during my massage. I'm sure that they were just trying to clean up quickly so they could go home. I can understand that. it was just noisy during a time I was trying to relax. Well I am back again for a third round of treatment. I was rear ended on the freeway and my car got shoved into another car in front of me so I ended up with some whiplash injuries. I literally could not turn my neck which made driving, working, virtually anything difficult. I was fortunate enough to have great PIP coverage through my no fault insurance and I got a prescription for massage therapy from my treating physician. I also got approved for chiropractor treatment, which I was a little worried about since a chiro at a different office I visited a few years ago was a waste of time. The chiropractors here are so awesome. I have no other words. Dr Behruz took my non mobile, stiff neck and gave me range of motion with one visit. He also adjusts my back which suffered from the accident as well. I have also seen Dr Vu, and he has these magical adjusting hands that relaxes my entire spine. Due to the nature of my injuries, the symptoms do come back, but the docs here straighten me out every time. The massage therapists are so awesome. Sam, Vittorio, Neil and Jherold all have strong arms and hands that melt my stiff muscles into jelly. I am so happy every time I leave. I do a lot of bending and lifting at work which just doesn't work with the injuries I have, so I look forward to coming here to take away the extreme pain I get from just doing daily activities. Personally I prefer men masseuse because they have more strength that makes it feel relaxing and comfortable and no long nails. I've had women masseuse and the strength from elbows and fingers plus their nails just don't do it for me. I feel more pissed during the massage that it becomes painful. This massage was very relaxing, I have right shoulders and lower back pain and I usually do a 90min deep tissue. Cris helped make my shoulders loosen and that was so soothing. They say after your deep tissue massage to hydrate because you'll feel like you just had a hard workout the next day from the toxins releasing.
