We were going to Arby's and passed by BoxLunch. I love to go in and see kind of merchandise that they have. They carry a lot of whimsical stuff, along with anime and cartoon things. My favorites are Hello Kitty, Strawberry Shortcake and Disney items. I mostly love the clothing and bags. I don't buy too much, but love to just browse. The sales associate asked if I needed any help. She told me about the promos that they were running. If you purchased an apparel item you get the second one for 30% off. They also had their sale racks. They had a 30% off rack and I spotted this read Mulan jacket. It was velvety, smooth and so soft. Plus, it was 30% off. I had to get it. I went to the register and paid for it. It was about $40 with the discount. Did I need it? No. Did I want it? Yes. I knew I should have stayed out of this store, lol. read more

Need the latest Funko pops, anime or comic book related apparel? BoxLunch is the place! This store is located in UPtown Pearlridge on the 2nd floor. It's a small store jam packed with things up to the ceiling, so look all around. There are a lot of cool items, but they're kind of pricey in my opinion, and not worth it. But there's a way to save money! Order online and pick up at the store. Also, create an account as you get several coupons you can use. I ordered online, and there was a 25% site wide discount plus an extra 10% discount for picking up at the store. Oddly, the website listed my items as all out of stock except medium size with two left. When I got to the store, it had plenty in stock of different sizes too! Perfect! I switched to a Large size, and I was able to cancel my pick up item and get a price match for what I paid online too. Overall, it's a good store to shop around. The items were pretty organized for having so many. The staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. A quick note: every $10 you spend at BoxLunch, it donates a meal to FeedingAmerica. And apparently, $1 can provide at least ten meals. Ten cents! Better than nothing! read more

We had a much better visit this time around. I called in yesterday after checking their website hoping they would have more Avatar merch than what was on the website.. I asked for the promo's, it's currently buy 1 get 1 50% off. Welp, we booked it there and found some cute things and more. I'm hoping they get more Mean Girls items, I'd love to buy some. The entrance is blocked and they only allow a certain number into the store since it is a bit small inside. Hand sanitizing didn't seem mandatory but like always we do it when entering and exiting. We were checked upon in store. Finally at the register, the girl was really sweet and could uphold a great conversation. I don't recall signing up the last time I bought something so I was able to this time around and start to receive rewards. Since my purchase was over $30 I got a coupon for my next trip/online. On top of the promo, she asked if I was military, thanks! Unlike my last review, I've been really digging all the character and merchandise they have in store. Cute cute loungefly bags. My daughter, hubby and myself come here to buy cool shirts. They have so many items here from different cartoon characters. I bought a shirt and a lanyard. My daughter got two shirts and a pair of socks. I had some $15 coupons to use so I used three of them. If you join their membership club, you can get coupons depending on how much you spend. The inside is limited to 10 people. It was crowded and small. I like the location at Ala Moana. It much larger at Ala Moana. Luckily, the store wasn't too crowded today. They had 50% off sale. Located inside the Pearl Ridge mall. I would definitely come back here over and over to purchase my tee shirts. read more

Had a $5 credit to spend here but didn't really want anything stuff-wise, so I saw candy and went for it! Tried a couple of the Taiwanese mochis filled with milk creme and strawberry. LOVE this store!!! Favorite favorite things here! They have Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Harry Potter, you name it! Of course I get stuck in the Disney section. I have a mug with the Genie on it that changes colors when there is hot liquid inside! Bags and wallets here are so cute, and very high quality. First time shopping at this store and I must say I'm pretty impressed. The workers were very friendly and helpful. Several of them asked if I needed help as I moved through different parts of the store and couple of times they took different items that I was holding up to the register making it easier to shop. I like that the loungefly wallets are in a case plus it wasn't hard to get help to see one of them. It's also nice that they limit the amount of loungefly items that can be purchased (same goes for funko pops). With no Disney store in Hawaii I will definitely be back to get my fix. read more

I came here for Christmas shopping in December 2022 looking for anything Stitch character. Boy did I find just what I needed to please my grand daughter. Then I looked around and they have things my other grand children like Anime items but am I gonna hug the jack pot this Christmas so much to choose from it's like I kid in a candy store. Maybe you think some things are expensive but I thought they were pretty reasonable being I waited the week of Christmas to shop. The store is beautiful there was a tall young man very helpful asked him where stitch items were and he led me right to them very helpful I loaded my arms with as much as I could carry and when I Fitbit the register I asked for one more item I couldn't reach. If you want unique items this is the place for that too lots to choose from I was totally satisfied with Box Lunch a I will be back for the kids Birthday presents this year too I'm a happy shopper. read more

This review makes me sad because the store has super cool products and its #GetSomeGiveBack campaign is really awesome but the customer service I've experienced lately has just been horrible. I made an online purchase back in early September with a limited edition item and a clearance item to be shipped to store, which was a free option because shipping to a Hawaii address would've been super expensive. A day after I placed the order, I realized I didn't want it anymore so I called the national customer service line and spoke to an extremely sassy representative who basically told me I should've read the fine print because it said I only had an hour or so after placing the order to cancel it without being charged. Sure, that was my fault for not reading that but I didn't expect that kind of attitude coming from a customer service rep. They said it would be shipped by the end of September to the store and that I would be notified of when to pick it up. That never happened. By mid-October, I still didn't receive any notification of my items being available for pick up so I visited the store to ask if they could track my package (since my account on the BoxLunch website said it hasn't even shipped yet). The sales rep asked for my name, walked to the back to check their inventory, then told me it wasn't there so I should just wait for a confirmation email. Okay, whatever maybe shipping to Hawaii took ESPECIALLY long? So I waited. End of October, I returned to the store and spoke to another sales rep asking about the status of my order. When she couldn't find my items in the back, she told me to call the national customer service line. Why couldn't she? Wouldn't that have been easier for both of us? I was frustrated so I left. A few days later, I called the customer service line and spoke to a really nice and apologetic rep who helped me a lot. He found out that it had been marked as delivered a while ago but when he called the store directly, they said they didn't receive it. He also tried to reorder my items for me but neither were in stock so he ended up processing a refund - which I'm still waiting on btw. It's a good thing I ended up not wanting the items or else I would've been even more frustrated. Basically, I understand this was a rare error on behalf of the company itself but the customer service, or lack thereof, I received from the store staff wasn't so great either. The entire experience deserves a 1-star but because most of it wasn't the Pearlridge store's fault, I'll give it a 2. read more

Great store with an almost overwhelming selection of original merch. Definitely a collector's dream! They always have fresh items every time I visit. Their rewards policies are off the chain! The staff here is ever-present and extremely helpful. Their website even makes your online experience just as enjoyable as it is in-person, and they even have a mobile app! I do love that a portion of sales from this arm of Hot Topic goes to feeding people, so it kinda takes some of the guilt away that is a byproduct of living in the consumerific capitalist system we're all oppressed by and required to participate in just to eek out a living while surviving in one of the most expensive places to live... That being said, it's a good place to find things for your own collector/nerdly needs or gifts for that nerdling/collector in your life. The staff at the Pearlridge location is always friendly and helpful. I've never stepped in here without a staff member letting me know the specials or sales they have going on at any given time. During the 'Rona Pandemmie however, the hours have been weird... I'm guessing it has a lot to do with the City regulations and the mall complying. Anyway, I ordered a figure with the Ship To Store option to get around that ridiculous "international" shipping rate Hot Topic/Box Lunch has for Hawaii. The 50th State. Of the same country. Explain to me HOW we're "international" if we're part of the SAME NATION. Hennywayz... I got an email notification to pick it up. The store hours were listed from 10:00am - 9:00pm but when I went to pick it up at the reasonable hour of 8:00pm, LO! they were closed. I was kinda peeved that I schlepped myself down there like a responsible consumer/nerdling/collector but I get it. My issues with it is more about corporate not being ON IT when it comes to disclosure of store hours on their website or their emails. This store is like a muted hot topic. I absolutely love both stores but I think there are a lot more Disney items in box lunch. Earlier this year, I took the fam to Disneyland and this was our go to spot for all our Disney gear. I was able to get hats, backpacks, jackets and cute little odds and ends for accessories. I love that they have kids and adult sizes. Scored matching Minnie jackets on clearance for both my daughter and I. It might have been an after Christmas sale but I was able to get a discount on everything purchased that day. Which is a huge plus for me because I had been looking for a Minnie backpack for a while and they were all really pricey. They have so many different licensed loungefly items. Pokémon, sailor moon, Harry Potter, almost every Disney character you could thing of is sold in this store. I'm always giddy about everything they have. At one point I've seen tiny character appliances. Captain America crock pot, Star Wars mini fridge, sailor moon kitchen apron. Recently I've spotted rick and Morty operation board games, sailor moon/Harry potter monopoly, bobs burgers Jenga. I swear if I could, I would buy everything in the store! Updating my review. It's an duality of an experience for me when I go into this store. The female staff are usually very nice and welcoming. One girl was very sweet and asked if I needed help and offered to hold a small keychain I was holding onto until I was ready to check out. I also earned box lunch money that day. I came back today an hour before closing and the male workers did not bother to welcome me and even went to help other people while avoiding having to ask me if I needed help. I was looking to use my lunch money before expires but was very turned off with the lack of enthusiasm, obviously they were ready to just close the store. I keep going in to this store everytime I go to the mall but I almost never buy anything. First, everything is pretty pricey unless there's a sale and of course most things I like in that store is not on sale. Even their clearance section is pretty high priced. I went in today looking for one of those little card holder things that can hold my ID and like maybe 3 or 4 other cards, since my current bag is too stuffed to hold my entire wallet. I spent a good 5 minutes searching the same section of shelves without ever being greeted or acknowledged. There was one female leaning over at the counter and another male. My last time there I found a Stitch card holder and the time before that they had an Ariel one. This time i didn't find anything. I didn't feel too disappointed leaving empty handed since the customer service was non existent anyway. Oh well, maybe next time. read more

Thank goodness they opened up a Pearlridge location! This is easily my favorite store in any mall now. I keep telling people BoxLunch is basically a Hot Topic without all of the edgelord merchandise (though Hot Topic has gotten better with that over the years). Basically everything that makes a lot of people not want to walk into Hot Topic is absent from BoxLunch. There's no dark, edgy vibe, no ugly band t-shirts, no loud obscure music... and they're sister stores! I still shop at both regularly but BoxLunch has a more mature vibe and seemingly a wider range of fandom merchandise. My parents are a lot more comfortable walking in this one than the other. Main merchandise lines you'll find are: Mickey Mouse, Lilo and Stitch, Star Wars, some Marvel characters, Star Trek, Doctor Who, Pusheen, Nintendo, Rick and Morty, Studio Ghibli and some generally trendy themed merchandise. Lastly the service is great, I've never had any issues here. They're always fun and friendly. read more

super clean store. I like how thing are organized. staff are friendly. I came in looking for infinity war funko pops that just released. hot topic was all sold out of the hulkbuster I was looking for but boxlunch came through and had it in stock. woot!! I know it was just coincidence that they had it but I definitely rather shop at boxlunch moving forwards. they felt less crowded and their inventory seems to match my preferences more (anime). hot topic stocks all kine which gets sort of nuts to filter through to find stuff I want. their pop promos are more budget friendly too where I only need to buy 2 for $18. at hot topic, I have to force myself to find 3 for $27. don't think it matters to those hardcore collectors though. money ain't an issue or consideration. self admission / judging... yes yes, I admit I'm essentially buying toys. I try to resist and only shop for ones I absolutely love (which makes the hot topic promo even harder for me to do) every dollar spent on these things is a dollar that's not going into my stomach and making me fat and happy. the struggle is real being a hungry chinese funko dabbler. just had a random thought... omg. what if they made and sold chocolate molded funkopop...buahaha. do I eat it!?!? ahem... sorry. back to being serious. This is my new favorite store! Comparable to Hot Topic, but not so goth. Disney is my favorite, so I'm happy they have a pretty big selection of Disney things :) I want almost every Disney item in this store...and Bob's Burgers too! They did have some Stranger Things before, but not now...probably when season 2 starts up again. It's called BoxLunch because for every so many dollars you spend, it feeds a person for a certain amount of meals...pretty cool! read more

They "forgot" to give me their advertised discount and the manager gave me attitude when I tried to get the greatest discount possible. It was as if they felt they were doing me a favor by selling me stuff. I wasn't given the correct discount and the manager remarked, "She's going to have to ring everything up again." Uh, yah. Opened a DBZ throw quilt and was not able to exchange it...Don't sell things that can't be return once open, the store could've put it back together or send it back to the warehouse but they chose to point out that they don't accept open products..so I'm unhappy and stuck with something I'll give to my dog...I'm stop buying anything from this store. I am not a customer of this store, nor do I intend to be. I had an order from another store that was delivered to box lunch by accident. Mistakes happen and while I don't hold that against them. What I do fault them for is holding my property for almost 40 days before returning it to its rightful store. In the meantime I had to have some of my order reissued and a partial refund as some items were no longer available. I consider this gross negligence on the part of all parties in this store as they have essentially stolen my property, even if they eventually returned it, and have lost any potential business from myself any any acquaintance who would ask my opinion on this store. read more
