This was my first time trying this place. The service was great. Super kind staff and they attended to our asks so well. They were patient with us when we needed some more time to decide what to order and answered our questions about their most popular items. The food came out within a reasonable time frame (maybe 10 min from ordering). I got the beef bulgogi bowl and it was really good! The only reason I'm not giving a 5-star review is I had stomach pain the following day and strongly feel it was connected to this meal. Seoul Bap - Korean Near Me - Carson, California

This Korean cafe opened down the street from CSU Dominguez Hills about a year ago. It is not a BBQ restaurant, and they have a limited menu, but everything we have sampled from their menu has been excellent. Kimbap. I make no pretense of being an expert, but in my experience it's either really good or really "meh." Theirs is really good. Generally, I haven't been a fan of the glass noodle dishes I've tried in the past, but I'd eat their Japchae every day; it was that good. I prefer kimchi fried rice and don't typically care for Chinese style fried rice, but again the egg fried rice at SB is beyond good. It was not oily or greasy at all, and, though soft, the rice had a slightly dry and fluffy texture. Honestly, I have never had fried rice as good as this. Their main go it is rice bowls, which one can order with white or purple rice. There are options to select one protein, two proteins, or one protein with two additional sides (like dumplings or japchae). We have tried the bulgogi, the spicy pork stir fry, and the fried chicken. They are all very good, though I am partial to the spicy pork. I cannot recommend Seoul Bap highly enough. On top of everything else, the portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. My colleague at CSUDH mentioned yesterday that she spent $25 at Taco Bell for three menu items. She would have done much better to spend her money at Seoul Bap. read more

My daughter and I decided to order dinner here tonight after discovering it on social media. We were not disappointed. The service was great and the food did not disappoint. We ordered the L.A. kalbi bowl and the Bulgoggi dosirak. Both meats were on point. The taste of the marinade on the meats reminded me of what I grew up eating. The fried kimchi took me back to my childhood. It was the perfect amount of heat and flavor (some people may find it a bit on the spicier side) for what I'm used to. The Soy Garlic Korean Fried Chicken is absolutely incredible- I could eat this every day and not be sick of it. It's AMAZING. If I could give a 4.5 I would. Only reason it wasn't 5 stars is because they forgot the sides that is stated to come with the catering party pack, but I can't fault them too much since it was short notice on an order pickup for 1 hour after they opened. Otherwise, the food was delicious, we got the beef bulgogi, spicy kbbq chicken, purple rice, and salad. Okay, first of all, customer service here is pretty good. They are kind and helpful. I also think their points card with crayons is so cute. However, comments about the food: 1. It is not the most flavorful, not something you find yourself craving and may be easy to even make at home. 2. I wish there are more side options besides pickled onion, broccoli and kimchi. Wish there was something like cheese corn like in another place I went to, bean sprouts, seaweed or fish cakes. Kimchi is good though and maybe they are going for healthy or mainstream. 3. Protein portion to rice is not that great. I usually find there is not enough meat. Sometimes I wonder if it is worth the price as a result. 4. Availability of their kimbap is not reliable. The first time I came, they did not have one of the options, and the second time I came, there was none at all, and it was only dinner time at 6 pm. I am not sure why they don't make some since it seems fairly easy to put rice on seaweed with other ingredients if they are available, esp since they offer the same protein options as the more expensive bowl. So keep this in mind if you are traveling from a distance. Overall, I thought I found my kimbap place, but I don't think I have. Giving 3 stars bec customer service is great and it's a place to get over Korean cravings like bulgogi and spicy pork and chicken without breaking the bank. Stopped by today for their grand opening. The line was out the door and I can definitely see why! They've got so many different kbbq bowls and it was hard to choose, but the spicy pork bowl with a side of their green sauce is *chefs kiss*.
