If you are a vegan or not, this is the place for you! This cafe has so many options. I love to get the Breakfast Burrito (sometimes Vegan, sometimes not) and Martinelli's Gold Metal Pure Apple Juice. I did get one of their bowls before which was greatnesses That apple juice is seriously the best. I also get smoothies there. The location is near Forsyth park so, it gets some traffic. The service is quick and the staff is personable. Also, their catering is great. I have ordered it in the past for meetings and events that are over 15 people. I was kind of obsessed with this place during my visit to Savannah. I ate here almost every day whether it had been coffee, a vegan treat, or that one day that all my friends went to go eat fried chicken at some popular joint in town but I had them drop me off here. That day I ended up eating the vegan super bowl and was very pleased with the meal. (see pic). When they came to pick me up after they had eaten they ended up having coffee and dessert and were surprised to find that vegan desserts don't taste like cardboard; who knew huh? I especially loved the hippie vibe of this place, they have super cool art hanging on the walls and for me it felt kinda like home. It was a place where i'd see myself hanging out all the time. Food: was pretty good (I felt like it was pricey) but it was tasty and good portion sized. I had the Shepard Pie and my wife had a Big Daddy Sandwich. Both were good. Though the Shepard pie had the side salad in the same box. So it heated up the side salad which wasn't my favorite. Coffee: coffee was okay. Nothing to write home about (we both had iced lattes). Service: service was pretty good. They let us know the timing on the food. They were slammed, but had a unique system for order numbers that was fun. I did get asked if an item was my food or not 3 times. But they were busy so it wasn't a big deal. Ambiance: plenty of seating was a plus. It's cool that they sell art and such there too. It was louder which is nice to have private conversations (as others can't overhear you). Bathroom was a bit beat up however. What a quaint coffee shop! This gem was three blocks from my Airbnb and is perfectly situated near Forsyth park. The baristas are attentive and knowledgeable. I ordered a small iced chai latte and oatmeal, both with oat milk. In hindsight, I would've selected a different alt milk, as the oat flavor was too strong in the latte, but it was palatable. The table markers are old trophies which cracked me up. Such a fun idea! I'd absolutely revisit! read more

My vegan son came to town so we picked SB as a brunch spot to accommodate his food choices. We had a breakfast burrito, breakfast tacos and some wrap with vegan sausage in it. The tacos were good with scrambled eggs and black beans but I would have preferred to have the abundance of spinach wilted some. We all loved the salsa - it has a nice kick - and our coffee drinks were great. It's quite loud inside, a serve-yourself, bus your own table kind of place. There's no warm and fuzziness in this shop but it was good nonetheless. They serve breakfast foods all day. read more

Maybe Starbucks has tainted my perception of cafes, but this place was simply nice. Service was quick, nice, helpful, and in less than a minute on a busy day, we got our coffee. You can't mess up on a cappuccino. That much is a well known fact. They certainly didn't. I usually drink coffee when it has at least more sugar than bean juice, but the coffee as it was very nice, and you wouldn't be able to beat the price for the product being that good without modifying the drink. Overall, very nice place if you're going there just for drinks, I can't say much about the food because that's not what I ordered, but according to me looking like a creep because I was in awe of how it looked (and people there aswell) I would say that it's good too. Upon searching for healthy options for lunch on Yelp I came across Sentient Bean. I am very familiar with the area where Sentient Bean is located because of local attractions, Forsyth Park, several stores to include Brighter Day. Somehow I missed this jewel. Sentient Bean is a small quaint place. I really like the atmosphere. I didn't know what to order lunch wise being new to vegetarian meals. The menu has lots of options with detailed description / ingredients. I chose the quesadilla with a side of salsa. It is very tasty and affordable. AMAZING lemonade, okay cold brew, and not so great sandwich. Was feeling hungry and thirsty when I popped in here and as a result ordered the lemonade, cold brew with oat milk, and a 'trees and cheese' (?) sandwich. The lemonade was amazing and ice cold and totally worth every penny. The cold brew was fine but possibly over brewed and retaining lots of bitterness. However I was super disappointed by the sandwich, it had a single slice cheese, hardly enough to be listed in the title and the bread tasted like a homemade project. Quaint little coffee shop that makes a mean local latte for those searching for a local brew. Pros: Very inexpensive for coffee or a light breakfast! Friendly service. Great selection of local coffee beans. Beautiful park views and easy access to public transportation and going downtown. This place was decent. It was super busy because the farmers market was going on across the street. I didn't try any of their baked goods because they didn't look great in the case, but I should try it next time since the reviews seem to be good. I got an Italian soda and asked for heavy cream inside. Apparently cream in an Italian soda is not a thing on the East coast, but they allowed it. They were out of heavy cream, which is super strange for a coffee shop, so they gave me half and half instead. It ended up curdling a little bit and didn't taste like a normal Italian soda. I asked for a couple more pumps of syrup because it was super carbonated and they said they had already put 12 pumps in which seems like a ton. My friends said their coffee wasn't exceptional. I would go back because I saw a picture of the cinnamon roll and it looks amazing. They are also really good with saving the environment too which I really respect and support. read more

Very trendy coffee shop near Forsyth Park! There was a long line when we visited, but it moves fairly quickly. I ordered the Breakfast Burrito and a large drip coffee. I was excited to see that they serve Cafe Campesino coffee beans, which is Georgia's first organic and fair trade coffee! I can't remember which coffee beans they were brewing the day I was there, but I remember it being a medium roast that tasted lovely. I've only had this type of coffee one other place in Georgia and remember it being great, so I couldn't wait to try it again. The breakfast burrito was great- so great that I just dug right in and didn't even get a picture of it! It was a good portion size and very filling. I asked for it to go and was expecting for it to be given to me in a bag like all the other to go orders ahead of me. But, instead it was just handed to me awkwardly with no bag and no sides of salsa were provided as mentioned in the description. When I asked for a bag and the side of salsa, the employee scoffed at me as she handed it to me. I had high hopes for this place but was not super impressed. The vegan burrito was missing the house made vegan sausage (which was the reason I got it) as well as the salsa. It was just tofu egg black beans and spicy Mayo. It was ok, but not as advertised. The savory scone also was not bad in flavor and texture but not anything too exciting. Staff wore masks under their nose which seems to be common but the reason I didn't want to go back and ask for the missing parts of the burrito. College hipster establishment with decent vegan/vegetarian food. I had heard of the Sentient Bean and after seeing the menu, we stopped in for a quick snack/late lunch. It's situated south of Forsyth Park in the Victorian District which is kind of odd since it's such a hippie-dippy place, surrounded by old Victorian mansions. You order at the counter and they have a wide variety of vegan and vegetarian food, with almost all the vegetarian dishes that can be made vegan. You can also order smoothies and coffee. I ordered their Chai with skim and it was very heavy on the cardamom, but overall, wasn't too bad. I also ordered the BBQ Tofu tacos which were vegan. The tortillas were a little chewy and the tofu was scarce. It was heavy on the greens and you couldn't really see the tofu buried inside. The topping with it wasn't very good. Literally felt like all I was eating was chopped greens and a few cubes of BBQ tofu. For being a place that prides itself on vegan/vegetarian food I had higher expectations. I would come back, though. Perhaps what I ordered isn't the thing to order there. There were a lot of things on the menu that sounded good that I'd try next time! read more

I also love grabbing a coffee and walking around Forsyth park. Their coffee is great and lattes are even better. I loved the intimate vibe of the place and when I noticed the pastry bar and that items were Vegan, I snagged a few for the remainder of the trip. Chocolate Chip Banana Bread was my favorite and the only one that I remember.
