My fiancé and I recently moved into this area and figured we try Senor Tequila's cause it was so close to where we live. It looked so promising when we went out to exercise the other night (tuesday) so we figured, what the heck? We should have left when we got our chips. Other people might like hard thick chips but I like a thinner chip. It was too thick for me. Almost stale tasting? Fiancé ended up getting the steak fajitas and I got the Tijuana enchiladas. I looked at yelp before ordering and nothing really seemed appetizing other than these. When we got our food, it wasn't all too bad. Everything looked as it should. One flag though, the fajitas weren't like sizzling to the point where you'd burn yourself. Usual places I've been to in the past has the fajitas coming out with steam and smoke coming off of them. And you can hear them come out of the kitchen. Steak fajitas - nothing to write home about. You know how I know that the skillet wasn't hot enough? There was a pool of liquid from the veggies on the skillet. I've never seen this from places I've been to. Enchiladas are bad. It comes with 4 "varieties". Chicken, beef, beans(?), and cheese(?). Beans and cheese? I know what I was getting myself into when I read it on the menu but I was expecting something little different. It was literally beans wrapped in tortilla and cheese wrapped in tortilla. Food quality, no good. Don't come here for food. I don't know how their margaritas are but don't come here for food. 2 stars because our waitress was very nice. Taco Bell has better Mexican food than this. Go get your money's worth at Taco Bell instead. read more

The decor is vibrant & interesting. My server was tentative and kept the soda refills coming. The food was okay. The salsa that came with the chips needed a flavor boost with the hot sauce and salt that was on the table. The queso was good, but wasn't hot. The rice & beans were lukewarm. The chimichanga wasn't fried too well, or crispy like the description in the menu. It was more greasy & soggy than anything. When I cut into it there was a very faint smell of older cooking oil. We had been meaning to come here since they opened, but tonight was our first visit. We were overly impressed! The chips were the thicker kind, but still had the perfect amount of salt like the thin ones. We got the kids quesadilla, kids carne asada, burrito bowl, and then a build your own platter. All were delicious. Even the side of rice and beans that you typically ignore were delicious! We ended with the fluffy sopapillas that had a fabulous coating of cinnamon sugar. Food was exactly what we were wanting. The atmosphere is fun and bright, but the service really stood out. Our waitress was attentive and took the time to explain to us the authenticity of the dishes. The manager came by, as well, and actually had a real conversation--not just a fly-by--and made us feel appreciated for our first time. They kindly let us sit wherever we wanted so we chose to sit outside and got ignored for the first 20-25 minutes being there. Finally we got a waiter who was seemingly competent but took forever to get us anything and we didn't even get waters until about 45 minutes into the meal. Food was awful to say the least. Biria tacos tasted like water it literally just had no flavor. It was lacking some traditional seasoning and well... salt. There was no salt and pepper at our table. Then, when we wanted to split the bill across 3 people the waiter got upset. So I guess the customer isn't always right. I still tipped and got out of there but I can tell you that server did not deserve a tip after getting frustrated at us for simply splitting the bill, aka his job. My wife and I have eaten at this place dozens of times and have never been disappointed. I've no idea why people say the waitstaff is rude or uncaring; did they go to the same restaurant expecting it to be some five-star Michelin deal? Honestly, the staff is friendly, the food is great (try their new salmon dish!) and speaking as a Hispanic man whose mother comes from Mexico City, this restaurant is probably as close as you're going to get to authenticity outside of the southern states or Mexico itself. This place is great and I'll definitely be making a return trip when I get back into town. Yes, it's not perfect - a lot of the stuff are towards a general palate rather than specific Mexican/Hispanic ones, but you've got to expect that for a restaurant. And I'm giving this restaurant four stars because of that, but that's not due to a lack of trying. I must say, the place was packed because everything was 50%, but the service was spectacular. We opted to seat ourselves in the bar section, since we were limited on time. +The food wasn't too salty which is a mega plus. +They make their tortillas fresh in-house; there's a tortilla factory station in the front of the restaurant. +Everything from the fresh chips and salsa to the enchiladas and the carne asada was pretty good. +Surprisingly, the customer service was very impressive as various staff members including a front of the house manager came by and asked how our experience was coming along. +They also had a marketing team promoting Bacardi Limon at the grand opening event, which was cool because they were giving out free bandanas, trucker hats, and shots of Bacardi. -No loyalty rewards program. Hey Senor!!!!! OMG I am so glad I finally made it here. While sitting at my desk on a Friday and craving all things mexican, I found myself here for lunch. I remember the location in Sterling and by the time I got ready to make a visit they had closed, only to pop up five minutes away from my work location. So it was a no brainer. Immediately upon walking in the door, I was greeted by the hostess who asked if I wanted a table or if I would like to sit at the bar. After seeing the television located directly above the bar, the choice was easy! There's something about having the entire bar to yourself at lunch time! Which by the way is pretty roomy, making it a good spot for happy hour. Any who, after choosing my chair, which by the way had Frida Kahlo ( love her) I was greeted with warm freshly made chips and salsa. The chips were tasty and fresh. You could taste the freshness in the salsa which is always a plus plus! After taking a thorough look at the lunch menu, I settled in on the Fajita Express that let you choose your protein. I wanted a little bit of everything and was not disappointed to find out I could get half chicken, half steak and add skrimps (shrimp) for an upcharge. No problem, I'm good for it! The wait was standard for freshly made fajitas but the hunger pain in my tummy made it feel like seven summers. And then, i hear the sounds of hot love as the sizzling cast iron plate made its way to greet me. Hot, fresh and steaming just the way i like it!!! I am the strange bird who orders fajitas but never eats the tortilla and eats the meats and veggies right of the plate!!! You know its hot when you have to haffsa haffsa haffsa haffsa a few times before you actually make contact so you do not burn the entire insides of your mouth!!! The meat was seasoned to satisfaction and there was an ample amount of veggies !!! The side plate was generous with all the fixings but the most important one to me, the guac. I need the guac and while I was hoping for a spoonful, it was more like a tablespoon. Le sigh, I get it though. The service was good. Based on the other reviews, I'm glad I did not have the same lack of customer service. The gentlemen at the bar was cool, making sure I had everything I needed during my visit. No complaints there! As if the food was not worth the trip, the interior is fantastic. You catch all the vibes while you are here!!! You are emerged in a total experience from the chairs, the wall art and the music that slow trances your ears in the background. The decor was really nice, and while the menu items seemed abundantly impressive, when we got our orders, we were extremely disappointed in the quality of the food. While some of the reviews tend to be overly positive, the truth is that the food is far from authentic. I had the chile rellenos, and the batter on them was merely scrambled eggs, and not the traditional whipped egg white batter, leading me to believe the cooks were not Mexican nor did they know how to make Mexican food. The salsa that came with the warmed up corn tortillas was nothing more than diced tomatoes: no cilantro, onions, or jalapeños as it should have had. My daughter had the mixed molcajete. She and her husband could not finish it because it tasted like stew. Even the water they served tasted horrible (like soap). Will not be ever going back there again. read more

There are a lot of misses here, and only a few small hits. We've tried it twice now, and probably won't ever be back. Service is s-l-o-w. Long waits for drinks, longer wait for food. Servers don't come back around very often to refill drinks and such either. We could see we weren't the only table waiting for servers to come back, and on our second trip the restaurant was mostly empty! The food starts off great. The salsa brought out with the chips is first rate, nice and flavorful. But it quickly goes down hill. The queso dip is extremely thin, like the consistency of milk thin, and was served luke warm at best. Tacos al Carbon were just bland grilled chicken in a corn tortilla. No grilled onions, no dash of cheese dip, no seasoning. Sides of beans were consistently cold. Rice has great flavor and texture but was cold. Enchiladas were tepid, and the cheese one in the combo had not been fully melted. The only dish everyone was impressed with was the kids chicken quesadilla. Lots of chicken, good flavor cheese mix. This place is going to have to seriously up the food and service quality if they are going to make it. read more

This is a very great place with great vibe. Being within a very nice restaurant centers with apartments right across, the air and vibe feels very fresh and nice. The service was excellent and our server was very friendly and was always checking on us, making sure we are good. The drinks were great and the dessert was excellent. I particularly love the tres leches. We also had the churro, which was served with caramel and chocolate dips. Those were a bit dry. The main food looks great, however, was not the best kind of food. The meat were not tasty enough and you can feel that it is dry. However, it was an OK experience with everything accounted for. Called to place my order this time around. Figured it would be easier and faster. Faster as in less wait time and more break time. The young I talked to turn out to be the young and talented Alejandra Delavega...okay her last name is made up, but I like it. I placed my order at 1:51 and it was ready at 2:04pm. You do the math. The food is nice and hot, and just as tasty when it is cold. Alejandra Delavega's smile was warm and friendly. She greeted me with a smile and thanked me when I left. After my visit, "Someone" in the restaurant decided to throw away my receipt that I filled out with the tip and final sum I authorized to be charged on my card. We also left a cash tip which the server said was not found at the table. A receipt which management has on file now apparently shows the extra digit added the tip total and this receipt is not filled out completely and it is not signed , because I didn't leave that receipt... if a receipt is not signed it is not valid. Also, changing anyone's receipt to a tip you feel entitled to is basically fraud. I called to tell the restaurant management what happened and the vibes I received were : this would never happen why would you say this and no one that interacted with you on your visit would do this and the server said they didn't do this. Why would I make this up , why would I forget what tip I wrote on my signed receipt. I gain nothing with this inconvenience. Situation was handled bizarrely with zero acceptable resolution. The margarita was good, and that was the only thing that was good. I always order fajita when I have Mexican food, but unfortunately the fajita was disappointing. Came here with my family for dinner before watching a movie at AMC nearby. We were promptly seated inside in a booth. The chips and salsa were okay- nothing crazy or unique. Our waiter was initially a little hostile. When we were ordering the enchiladas, we asked if they could use flour tortillas instead of corn. Our waiter responded by saying that's not a thing and definitely not possible. He seemed a little confused and uncertain so we asked if he could check with the chef at which point he said that they can make the substitute. My parents both liked the enchiladas they got. Spinach enchiladas can sometimes be a miss but they were a solid vegetarian option. This restaurant actually had a good deal of veggie options. I didn't love the chicken enchiladas but that's probably my fault because I usually don't like Mole sauce so I should have gotten something else. I just received my order tonight for $13 nachos and $14 chimichangas. I've never been so disappointed and dissatisfied with a dinner. As you can see in the pictures, the nachos came with little -if any- cheese and were soggier than a Louisiana swamp. Tasteless and gross. The chimichangas were basically (1) shredded chicken and (1) ground beef egg roll. We will never come back to this restaurant. Their dishes are smaller than similar restaurants and they charge for chips and salsa! The service is not very good at Señor Tequila, they tend to make mistakes when you ask for small changes in the order, and the servers are not very friendly. Chuy's, Plaza Azteca, los Tios Grill, even los Toltecos are much much better. It is best to avoid the aggravation of going to Señor Tequila. read more

Happy hour margs are pretty solid, for only 5$. They are full sized and have a good amount of tequila in them. We didn't order any food so I can't comment on that. It looked pretty average. Happened to be staying in town for the night and after a long day at the airport, figured i'd come in for my favorite cuisine. There were about 4 people at the bar and it was later in the evening. Took a really long time to be greeted by the bartender who was having a conversation with these two ladies at the end of the bar. When my order was taken, took a while to get the draft beer because the bartender was continuing his conversation. Took a while to get the chips and salsa because... you get the picture. Got the food. Chips were fresh and the salsa was very good! Had the enchiladas. Meat was fairly dry and not seasoned well, but the rice and beans were done well and I usually don't eat the whole thing. Only saw the bartender when he brought me my beer and the check which is hard because the bar is pretty small and there was basically no one there so can't rave about the service. Someone else brought me my food and I finished my food before the bartender checked on me so I figured I'd go drink at another bar. I think the timing was just off for me to come here. The open kitchen in the front was inviting and I'm sure the place has good food, but just a miss on that day with service and execution. Not sure if I'll ever be back in town, but there doesn't seem to be a ton of Mexican options, so our paths may cross again. read more
