The catering spread!! Omg!! So good
Lauren O.

Aw man,I think this place fell off. Still no salsa bar and containers that can't even fit a chip to try to dip in. I ordered chili lime chicken said and in the past, it's my favorite salad. This time, they didn't provide enough dressing so my salad was mostly dry.. very tiny container and 1/16th of an avocado. Two small slivers. Bummer! I actually have a pic of how the salad used to look in my previous review here, so I can really see the difference. And The tortilla chips tasted like they were made in bad oil. I also got a fiesta bowl, any sour cream is extra$. Just overall, not what it used to be.

I've been a fan of Señor Salsa for so many years and every time I return the quality never wavers! The burritos are the perfect size and packed in beautifully, the quesadillas have the perfect ratio of excess tortilla to filling and cheese, the nachos are so loaded you'd think they were Jeff Bezos himself on a platter-- needless to say this spot knows how to give you the biggest bang for your buck I will always remain loyal to this wonderful establishment!

Always a good meal at Senor Salsas! My wife and I frequent this place when we are in the mood for a quality meal with fresh ingredients. Place is right on the Post Rd. and has a parking lot. It's an order at the counter and take seat type of place, no server. My go-to is always the Steak Fajita, i either get the soup or the platter. I prefer the soup a little more, just feel like it captures more of the steak chili flavor. The platter is served over a bed of rice with a crunchy tortilla bowl. My wife gets the Chili Lime chicken salad which is her absolute favorite salad to get anywhere. Good size portion and is always fresh and spot on. Kudos to Senor Salsas for including free chips and salsa which should be normalized everywhere, we love this place!

They need to change the name to Poca Salsa!!! The Salsa bar is no longer available! You have to ask for hot or mild, and they are very weird about getting both or salsa verde. A great thing totally ruined. Los Tacos #1 in the city still had their salsa bar...and it's the city! The big apple...ain't no one worried about Covid right now. What did the landlord increase the rent or something? Either way, 5 stars down to 2 stars. Oh how I've grown..."Senior Salsa" apparently has not.

Chips are good.

We were a group of motorcyclists that started at Chipotle in Bridgeport but the wait was 40 mins with only 5 customers on line. Workers there didn't care so we left and headed over to Senor Salsa which was recommended by a friend. Glad we went because we were immediately served upon arrival. Small restaurant but pretty busy when we arrived in the afternoon. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We opted to sit outside because it was crowded. Menu consisted of typical Mexican dishes which were very good. Nice spot for a quick lunch which suited us well. We definitely would go back. Saw some bad reviews of this place but not during our visit. So far so good.

Been at Senor Salsa a few times now. I always for the Cancun Shrimp Burrito and haven't been disappointed so far. This time I went during COVID and first thing that caught my eye was no salsa bar! I understand, but I miss the salsa! Second thing everybody working wears a mask except the manager--not leading by example it's called. Thirdly it was kinda dirty, the tables were not cleaned in between costumers, and they have enough personnel that day. Lastly the burrito is not quite matching up with the pre-COVID one. It was still alright though, but I hope they will step up their game.

This a a great spot for a quick bite! I couldn't believe how quickly the staff was able to dish out so many orders in the short time I was there! Senor Salsa seems to mostly operate as a take-out spot, but the seating and ambiance is charming enough to sit down and enjoy a meal in the space, too. Excellent eats!

Pico de Gallo/ salsa size for 50 cents

What happened to this place???   I used to go to the Westport branch pre-pandemic, and had been to the Fairfield a couple of since Westport closed.   Well, not after my order today...   Shrimp tacos: 2 small/medium shrimps per taco A ton of cabbage No tomato as per menu A bag of tortilla chips with no salsa Had to pay 50 cents extra to get pico de gallo (half a regular portion, look at picture)   Burrito Grande Completely dry, since it had no salsa and no guacamole as per menu, and steak was double overdone Very little meat, lots of tasteless rice and beans A bag of tortilla chips with no salsa Had to pay 50 cents extra to get an avocado salsa   I understand they had to close the salsa bar, but to not give you ANY salsa with a meal and a bag of chips and expect you to eat everything completely dry is absurd.   Get your money's worth in much better, fresher and yummy places nearby, like Bodega Taco Bar, Mil Sabores, Super Taqueria Las Salsas, Park City Music Hall.

It is small, but very nice place for fast and not too expensive meals. We would stop by again!!! And I do recommend to try.

I still order cases of salsa shipped from Las Cruces because I've never found anything on the east coast that comes close - until now. Green Chilitos is the real thing. The tacos, the homemade salsas, the queso, the black bean dip was amazing. The guy who owns it really cares... Portions are REALLY big - like leftover lunch big and terrific. The space is small and simple - don't come here for the ambiance. but the food is really the star. One humble suggestion for GC (I decided to give it a nickname)... throw up a BYOB sign out front. This is Fairfield. We will show up with a bottle of wine faster than you can say guacamole. A sign in the window could change your business overnight. Again, awesome - you should go - or take out (but really go, and bring a bottle...)

The mole sauce is amazing - like what I had in Mexico 30 years ago and never found since. The two homemade salsas had complex and balanced flavors from smoked vegetables. Highly recommend each of these: Bodegarita - Cazadores, luxardo triplum, lime juice, agave...this is their classic marg. Nice balance, well mixed. Bodega Original Guacamole...fantastic. Basic in a good way. Very avocado forward. Not over-salted. The chips were fresh and not salty..again in a really good way. I did ask for a few lime wedges to add a little juice, but the guac was excellent. Pork Carnitas - Crispy potatoes, onion, serrano-avocado crema, cilantro...very good. Americano - Seasoned ground beef, manchego cheese, salsa de russa, crispy taco...kinda unique. A little like a big mac meets a taco. Unexpected but very glad I tired. Gambas - Seared ancho chili shrimp, cucumber-mango salsa, chipotle mayo...my favorite one. 5-start taco. Chicken Tinga - Tomato braised chicken, cotija cheese, mexican crema...excellent as well. Service was very good. Attentive, prompt and gave good/accurate recommendations. Didn't laugh at all my jokes. That's ok- few do. Set back from the Post Road, I must have driven passed here a million times. Unassuming storefront. Cozy spot. 5 table tops and 5-ish tables. A nice bar w/ excellent tequila options. The decor matches the food and experience if that makes sense. No brainer 5 stars from me. I'll be back and I'll certainly recommend.

Road trip to Boston…read more.. Needless to say it was a Friday afternoon and traffic was a pain from the start. A quick little yelp search and we had an instant detour for some sustenances, while we let the other motorist continue on their way. Bodega, located in a small little shopping strip, is also small and quaint. Not much wiggle room so be prepared to be neighborly. We arrived half past 4, just in time for HH @ the bar. So we grabbed some seats at the end of the bar where Alex the bartender took care of us. We started with Passionritas (passion fruit margs) and guacamole. Both were equally delish and the guac is bowl licking worthy. However, I do not recommend since you are dinning in public. Lol. In addition we ordered the bodega blistered brussels sprouts and baja tacos to share. The sprouts were an absolute stand out. I opted for the Mexico City Ceasar Salad with Salmon. Presented slightly deconstructed, which didn't take anything away from the great taste. We had an absolute great experience from Alex our bartender whom was very impressionable to Diego (possible manager) whom also made a nice impression. We tried a few more margs before our departure. With the hibiscus being one of my faves. A wonderful spontaneous detour, that will now be a welcomed stop on future road strips north. Just A Note: - HH @ the Bar only (Tues-Fri 4-6pm) - You can take Bodegaritas to-go they have them bottled for sale.

The quacamole is excellent though expensive ($20, 5/5). I want the recipe. The chicken sandwich was very good, but the "side salad" was shredded iceberg lettuce with halved tomatoes (3/5). If you're going to call it a side salad put some effort into it. The foccacia bread was tasty but too large for the sandwich creating a ratio of bread:chicken error. The birria tacos were disgusting (my son loves birria tacos and he gagged on his first bite and almost vomited) (1/5). He ate literally 1 bite and the server did not even ask what the issue was, which is very poor service. the chicken wings were excellent (5/5) but also very expensive for 6 wings ($20). Overall I'd give the food a 3.5/5, ambience 4/5, and service 3.5/5. It barely got rounded up to 4 stars. I'd recommend going for a drink and some guacamole, but skip the tacos and entrees.

We were meeting friends from Norwalk so decided to go closer to them and try Fairfield which was a totally different experience. Tableside guac was solid to start. Burrito was good, but my yucca fries had no seasoning and should have had a better dipping sauce than ketchup. One of our favorite things last time was the smoked black salt rim on the Tropicale margarita. Our first round had regular salt. Second round we asked for the black salt which they did but it wasn't smoked. Fried ice cream wasn't fresh, it had been fried in advance, so the outside wasn't warm or crispy. Ultimately we ate it all. It was good but for the price (with tax and tip over $400) I'd expect something with higher execution.

The chicken was probably crispier when it left the kitchen, but it had softened by the time I got home. From it being packaged with no air vent for the steam to escape. The chicken itself didn't do much for me either. It looked like dark meat, possibly thigh, but instead of being juicy it was a bit dry; the The portion could have been more generous. The cilantro rice was mushy. I also ordered a side of ají verde, and for the small portion, I thought it should have been complimentary. A lot of places offer a sauce like that as a courtesy. Overall, I wasn't a fan of what I ordered this time. That said, I wouldn't rule the place out. Their tacos and happy hour margarita specials might be better, so I'd be willing to come back and give those a try. The bartender was gracious, friendly, and accomodating. Super guy. I ordered a margarita and nachos with steak. Both were delivered quickly. Tortilla chips were said to be made in house, but these were not. They were multi.colored and not made in house. Nacho cheese from a can, not cheddar as advertised. Like the cheese you get at a 7 11 or gas station. Yuck. I was not impressed at all by nachos or steak and at $18 would never order again. Service was top notch and friendly, and the place was clean, inclluding the restrooms. Great Happy Hour deals daily so may return for that but cannot recommend the nachos.
