I purchased the locks and keys from them. After moving, we emptied one unit and told management we were keeping the other unit. The manager said no problem, I will update everything. Guess what??? The dumb motherfuckers, said they didn't know whose stuff was in the unit I rented. The manager never officially had the second unit in our name. So, they illegally sold all my stuff. Family heirlooms, tools, etc.. all gone. You know what the upper management did??? They did absolutely nothing, I called and was promised over and over that someone would get back to me. Here we are 3 months later and I'm no closer to getting any help. I tried to hire an attorney and was told that these disputes are hard to litigate. The attorney said, it will probably end up costing me $1000's of dollars to prove they sold my stuff. What the hell!! So it's ok for them to illegally sell your stuff and then you're left spending money that is hard to come by. Public storage are crooks and they don't care about their clients at all. They only care about making you go away and they know that most people can't afford to fight it. I wish I had the $5-$10,000 I need to fight their ass.

The storage mart employee called me after emailing me asking if I still needed the unit. I told him I didn't but assumed I lost my money (which was the most reasonable price in my area). He told me they could just vacate the unit and return my money even after I said to him that I was okay with them keeping the money since they did work on my behalf and I signed documents. These include the back gate left unlocked and wide open as displayed in my photo. To make matters worse, the buildings are left unlocked 24/7, and many units have hollow core doors. So much t would be a small matter for someone to enter, put their fist through storage unit doors, and empty the place. As a former police officer, my advice is to keep the back gate locked at all times. Lock the buildings at night, and replace hollow core doors --including the one to the office -- with solid core. And while you're at it, a basic alarm system would be well worth the expense. If you did these things, your property would beat anything else in NVA hands down.

They said the regional manager would call me, 3 months later still no call. 2) came back on Monday and the same thing yet again. The store wasn't open but their HQ people on the 1-800 number didn't know that. So I lost around 3-4 hours, this time with paid labor while I waited on anyone to show up with a key. Finally 4 hours later a manger of a completely different store showed up with a key. 3) When I went to turn in my unit, their were no employees on site at 10:30 (their hours are 10am-5pm) but they had a sign that they would return at 11am. I returned at 12:05 to see they had changed the be back time to 12pm but the store was still locked. I had to once again call the 1-800 number to cancel my unit. I gave them 1 star as zero wasn't an option.

Asphalt is always clean, that's hard to say about many other facilities. Even on windy days, it's apparent that they keep up with the "housekeeping". All units are accessible with a large truck, and the facility is close to the highway, yet feels safe. It's directly in line with approach at Dulles airport, and that's awesome. Take the opportunity to meet the manager, she's very nice and friendly. Reliable place with customers, (several of whom I've met) that seem to be happy with their experience.
