I strongly recommend that anyone in the area who needs storage, use the Extra Space Storage facility on Woodland Road and specifically ask for Ms. Sahar. We had tried Extra Storage down the street, but their computers were down and they couldn't access our online reservation with them and told us to go to their other location down the street and do the paperwork there and then come back. That was a hassle with our toddler in tow, so we tried Public Storage instead. I made an in-line reservation on my phone from the car and we headed over there. Fariba, the manager at Public Storage, was very friendly and helpful. The rental process was quick and they had a good promotion going on. The property is clean and well maintained and seems very secure. Glad we ended up renting here.

To top it off, police arrested an on-site employee. This property is highly unsafe; avoid at all costs. My Experience: I stored my truck at this Sterling facility, expecting a secure environment. Instead, I returned to find my windows smashed and the battery completely stolen from my vehicle. What makes this situation incredibly alarming is the management's response: Zero Communication: The property manager flatly refuses to return my calls. Withheld Evidence: They refuse to release the security camera footage, which would help identify who committed the damage. Criminal Activity: To make matters worse, the police actually arrived and arrested someone working in the office.

On top of that, they don't send bills, reminders or any sort of e-mail, so you just have to figure it out... By then, I assumed they had my credit card on file, since no reminder/bill arrived, so when we went to move our things, our space was locked, we owed the rent, and they charged an extra $60 on late fees. When I asked about that on the phone they say "they don't do that (send bills)". Not only did that delay our move for 30 mins that we had to pay our movers, but left a horrible taste. When we called a few days later to cancel, our account was already canceled, even though we had paid until the 31st. An absolutely horrible experience, with a malicious business model.

Asphalt is always clean, that's hard to say about many other facilities. Even on windy days, it's apparent that they keep up with the "housekeeping". All units are accessible with a large truck, and the facility is close to the highway, yet feels safe. It's directly in line with approach at Dulles airport, and that's awesome. Take the opportunity to meet the manager, she's very nice and friendly. Reliable place with customers, (several of whom I've met) that seem to be happy with their experience.
