Even though their rental agreement states they need to provide written notice of policy changes at least 30 days in advance, they added the online fee and 30 days later sent out a notice. I don't think that's the intent. Want to avoid this and pay in the office? Nope, they closed the front office too. Their idea of climate controlled units is turn the thermostat off or set it so the inside temperature is acceptable at 85 degrees. Need help on-site? Good luck, there isn't anyone there anytime I go. When the office was open, they were always on a lunch break regardless of when you needed them during the day.

I also thought the service was a good value for the level of work they provided. What I especially appreciated was that they worked with me to find a solution when my plans changed. At one point, I was considering storing my belongings at their warehouse for less than a week. Rather than simply taking the additional business, they told me it did not make sense to move everything from the original location into warehouse storage for such a short period because it would unnecessarily increase my costs. That advice was one of the reasons I ultimately decided to use PODS instead. My moving needs did change at the last minute, which made the overall move more expensive than I had originally planned, but that was because of the changing logistics, not because they were trying to increase the price. I really appreciated that they were focused on helping me find the most practical and cost-effective solution. I would absolutely recommend them.

I have moved 10 times before this in as many years. This is BY FAR the worst experience I have had. I KNOW how long it takes to move my place. Not only did this take more than TWICE as long with allegedly a whole other person, they brought a fourth unauthorized guy. And still took more than half the time. One guy sat in the truck most of the time, I have pictures, the others didn't start on my kitchen until the end, had to wait for that....later to find out when I went back to the old apartment they hadn't even finished the whole kitchen ...ran over my allotted time at the building I was moving out of, at my cost. And then they ruined my couch. So I paid DOUBLE what I was expecting, which was already more than what was quoted cause I was adding a little buffer, but ended up tipping a whole additional person because I'm not a jerk. The guys were nice but inefficient. Kept saying this is what you get with a higher quality mover, but it was not even a better experience. They were wasteful with the amount of packing supplies they used, never presented or communicated the prices of the materials they were using, which I was told was included anyway but also others I never approved or asked for. Just popped it on me in the end. Oh and then they say "we are going to adjust your time by 15 min you'll see a refund on your card" and two and a half weeks later still waiting for it to even show pending at least. But you better believe the charge was instant. I was debating sharing my feedback but was so mad I finally emailed the company. But no one had even dignified me with not even an automated response, just silence. So I come here to do something I pretty much never do. But that's how annoyed I am. Sorry but would rather recommend. Cheap Movers, way better. I used last move were a thousand times better and a QUARTER of the price. I'm not even cheap but I hate being taken for a fool, and it turned out to be just that. That's what I get what I get for using hourly movers for the first time, never again. A slow work scam, exactly what I was worried about, but like an idiot I bought into the reassurances Karen gave me but they truly let her down. I hope she knows they're having her selling lies.

My trailer was damaged in the fall at the storage space provided. Strong winds and a tree that was not not trimmed damaged the roof and the local management claims that is my fault and on my insurance. Even the employee said, "I mentioned this several times to the manager, but he won't do anything." The employee moved me to a different spot, and then I had to move back because that one was taken. They trimmed the tree and I moved back to the original spot. My spot was surrounded by 3 snow trucks that fills both sides of there spots and it was way more than difficult to even get out, let alone try to back-in. The so called manager is a complete smart-ass and has absolutely no customer service, unless you consider being told NO and wishing your storage needs were met elsewhere.

So after receiving a few quotes from a handful of businesses, I went with Potomac Moving due to the speed of their response, clarity in communication, pricing and overall warmth and professionalism. In our first phone call to walk though my needs, they were very assuring and accommodating, which is a such a relief in the midst of stress and coordination that comes with planning for a move. They were also always very responsive in the few times that I reached out between the time I paid the deposit and the actual move. A night or two before, I sent at email regarding wardrobe boxes, since I was debating whether or not I should buy and have a few delivered to me. The owner responded quickly, assuring me that wardrobe boxes were tried, true and if I wanted to buy any directly from them that I could. That ended up being a great call, because they were able to properly enforce the boxes so that even the boxes filled with my heaviest coats remained in tact. On the day of the move, the movers were communicative regarding their arrival time. They were also very nice and hard working. I had a few large furniture items that needed to be disassembled and they ended up being quite beasts to tackle. But they worked diligently to break them down. Once it came time to move things to my new place, that was a breeze. One gesture that I thought was just so classy, was the owner called in the middle of the move to check-in on how things were going - I really appreciated that.
