4.5 out of 5 stars…read more Generally, the moving experience was fine. However, like a lot of moving companies they have absorbent fees that are only mentioned after the move. The fuel/transport fee was above average especially given the move location was only a 2 miles distance. They added an extra mover the day off bc we have stairs. Though that was their decision, we were charged above the quoted rate for the additional person. I paid cash, which gave us a 10% discount but with all the extra fees, the 10% isn't much of a savings. I still tipped and nothing was broken or damaged during the move. They also arrived on time and helped taped boxes that needed additional reinforcement. Boxes were placed on the appropriate rooms based on the labels. I would hire them again but would budget for 15-20% more than what they quote.

The worst moving experience of my life. Took them over 10 hours to move me into a two bedroom…read moreapartment. Scratched up furniture, broke items & stripped nuts/ bolts during reassembly. Leaving most items unassembled and taped or boxed up. The lead mover even threatened and did leave unfinished because I asked if the bolts on my bed were being stripped, as I could hear the drill stripping them. Then attempted to charge double what was quoted, charging me extra for an additional mover I didn't request and for unnecessarily used tape. They literally wrapped tape around a mattress and taped up sofa pillows and charged me an additional $165 for packing supplies used. But somehow managed to scratch up my entire dinette, chairs included. Giving them 1 star is being generous; there is nothing professional about them.

Mike and his movers would be the last movers I ever recommend anyone to us.

Wrongful sale of my belongings despite payment attempt and communication…read moreThis review is for Public Storage - 8228 Belair Rd, Nottingham, MD 21236. On January 26, 2026, my storage unit was sold even though I made repeated attempts to communicate and make payment. I called multiple times that morning and left messages trying to find out the exact amount required to stop the sale. No one returned my calls. When I finally reached an employee named Chrissy, I was told my total balance was $1,000.48 and that they would accept a partial payment of $555.00 to stop the sale. I had the $555.00 available and agreed immediately. While attempting to process the payment, my bank showed a system error, which was later confirmed by my bank as an issue on their end -- not a lack of funds. We attempted the payment multiple times. I also tried using another bank card and successfully sent $1.00 to confirm that card worked, with the intention of immediately submitting the full $555.00 payment on that card. Despite these efforts, my belongings were still sold. On January 27th, I called again and begged them not to release my belongings to the buyer. My bank confirmed that the funds would be fully available on January 28th, less than 24 hours later. I explained this clearly and pleaded with them to wait. My unit contained irreplaceable personal items belonging to my deceased parents, which are the only things I have left of them. I would not refuse to pay knowing that. I was later told Public Storage gave me "two extra days," which is not true. My account had already been closed on the 27th, and my belongings had already been released to the buyer. The timeline does not support their statement. I did communicate. I did attempt to pay. I did everything I could under the circumstances. The lack of compassion, accountability, and honesty shown in this situation has been devastating. In my opinion, this was a wrongful sale, and no one should have to lose their parents' belongings this way.its not like i did have the money they can look on payments history they could have delayed the buyer but yet they lied and said they gave me truth extra days the day my things was sold was on the 26th i tryed to pay it it was a system problem on the bank end the 27th of january i talk to an manager that morning and told the promblem i beg him to hold the buyer up because they said the problem woud be fix the very next day which it was thats the 28th of jaunary i had the 555.00 ready to pay the next morning reguardless of how they do things they seen i was paying not lose my things i beg them and the 28th would have been the extra day they claimed they gave they seen i do pay so why not held that buyer off ...sometimes yall need to give people grace and not be so horrible and lieing on people because they did not give me that extra less then 24 hours

I needed to relocate to Baltimore and was referred to Orly moving…read more Let me start by saying that Liz who was my contact was EXCEPTIONAL in the process of preparing for this move. The cost was comparable to the 2 other quotes I had received. On the day of the move, I ended up in the hospital, and with a few friends to direct the process in my absence, it really went off without a hitch!!!!!!! When it came time to deliver everything, they were efficient and careful with most things and nothing was broken in the process. there were 3 issues... 1) they could not get a couch out of the old apartment (Even though it was brought in) and they left it and I had to pay to dispose of it. 2 )When they unloaded everything unbeknownst to me a number of items were placed in the garage. (I am in a wheelchair and couldn't watch everything. I had to pay someone else to bring them in to the condo. 3 ) I spent $250 for $25,000 in additional insurance and after unpacking I realized the tub with an essential computer for my business was missing. The computer while valued at $800 was secondary to the files and records on it that were not all able to be backed up. When I tried to find out what happened they said they talked with the lead mover and they didnt know what happened to it. And because I was still sick from being in the hospital and couldn't unpack everything quickly, they said because it was 14 days later that I could not make a claim. While the move was accomplished and with relatively little trauma, I can not recommend Orly moving.

Moving can be traumatic - there is a lot that has to go right before, during, and after. I have…read moreused Orly twice - once for my organization, and once to move my mom's stuff out of her retirement home after she passed away. Both experience were exceptional. The entire process from getting an accurate quote, to the team showing up on time, taking care of the items (they did the packing up of my mom's stuff as it was too difficult for me), to moving items to their eventual place, was easy. I used a different mover (found on CraigsList) when I moved out of my home into my apartment and I ended up doing at least 1/2 of the work. For my mom's move I sent Liz pictures of what was in her room, the team showed up on time after calling me when they were a few minutes out, were kind, packed things with care, and made sure I understood the process. Frankly the bar is so low for this type of work, that it isn't hard to be disappointed (showing up on time? Charging what the quote reflected?). The local team is great. Payment was easy. They work their butts off. When I eventually move again, I will only use Orly.

I was relocating from the state of Virginia to Texas. I received an estimate of some $12,000 and…read moreagreed I gave I believe about $4000 down payment prior to the day of the move. I was informed that that had been some mistakes made in the estimate and the price was increased. I do believe it was some $1200. On the day of the move. A box truck arrived, and I asked about the semi and he told me that they were going to repack at a different location. Well, that seemed kind of odd because I was told that I would not have half of a semi of material and now I'm being told that it's going to be more so now that he's telling me it's gonna be more he's pointing fingers back at the people I talked to at the company and the company is pointing the finger back at him telling me to both wrong, but of course he's not gonna do anything until I pay him an additional fee I was looking for the semi that they had told me was going to be not quite half field with my belongings when the movers arrived I was informed by the supervisor that this would be more than had expected, and that the area would be more than a half of a semi, but they came with a rental truck that was maybe 24 feet box truck pack this truck at my home and go to the semi and they rit well in the day of the rival on 11 August I was told that they wanted the final payment and it could not be a personal check. It could not be credit card or debit card. It had to be in postal money orders so now I'm on my way to the post office for money orders for some over $4000. Once the movers start bringing the belongings in I see that I have been charged for additional packing and their packaging was and I have photos taking wardrobe boxes and just piling things in on top of each other. No packing material no nothing just pile it in a wardrobe box tape it up and I had several boxes this way and charged for additional packing. This was a nightmare you wouldn't believe but , I'm told that moving is one of the most difficult things that you do well I have moved several times in my life. This is the worst, it could not have been worse. I have other folks property in with my shipment and I am missing several boxes that I packed. I guess you should never say it couldn't have been worse, but it was terrible. Cross country Movers has a number of moving companies that just aresimply called Cross country Movers but my Movers came out of Maryland, and as I said, it could not have been worse. Anyone using this company after I write this review you get what you get. PS I have a new phone and the photos are on a thumb drive. If I can figure out a way to get them off the thumb drive onto the review I will place them there.
