My husband and I rented a unit with the intent of only having it for 3 months. Unfortunately, our…read morecontractor went under and we had to pick up all the pieces, which means we had our unit for nearly 4 years! We signed a paper contract when they dropped off the unit, although I don't really remember signing a contract. But then 3.5 years later, they sent us a digital contract and asked us to sign it. But because I don't remember the paper contract, I refused to sign the digital contract. Even though we were paying every month on time for the last four years, they refused to give us one more month with the unit because we refused to sign the contract. Additionally, after returning the unit, my credit card was charged two months in a row, and I had to call the company to get a refund on my credit card. I would recommend the business because the delivery and pickup of the unit was simple. But everything else involved with renting this unit, I don't recommend.

I should've listened to the reviews on this company that were so low. Unfortunately, we were in a…read morepinch needed to move quickly after another moving company canceled. I spoke with someone on the phone who gave a low quote, had immediate availability, and I understood the terms of the quote which were they charge a full hour just to come to your house for travel and then a two hour minimum. Our move went two hours over the minimum. This was not helped by the fact that they insisted on taking their time to wrap everything in plastic wrap even when we had some cheap stuff that we said just throw it on the truck we don't care, and disassembling things that really didn't require it. Our house was only 900 square feet and we did not have all that much and were moving less than a mile away, not across the state or country. We had to finally stop them and say this is getting to be too long and decided to dismount and move our TVs and bed frames by ourselves the next day. We were fine with paying for the extra two hours. Then comes the surprise: A $400 FEE FOR MATERIALS. What materials? Plastic wrap and packaging tape, and I suppose depreciation on their moving blankets? Seriously folks, this company will get you one way or another. Make sure that you have wrapped up everything yourself. Their workers were personable and hard-working, but the business model here is to ensure you go over the two hour minimum and to charge an exorbitant rate for materials. Do not be deceived on the phone when making the initial appointment by their very knowledgeable and reassuring booking staff. That's why I thought a two star rating must have been a mistake. I was talking to a real person. The text messages that were sent seemed to have prepackaged responses and I ask if I was talking to a bot they said no. They claimed their Yelp rating is low because they "don't pay for reviews like other companies." Well, I'm a real customer and have paid dearly to provide you, the unwitting consumer, with this review. Moving is stressful enough. Getting ripped off is just insult to injury. Their phone number will come up as spam on your phone, and if you've made it this far reading this review, you can understand why. If you're desperate and have lots of cash to burn, this company will be great. However, avoid if you can!

I'm so sorry I can't continue the lease, but since I have to give up my staging business I just didn't have a choice. They went above and beyond and helped me with all my questions and concerns. A good example was when they found I hadn't locked my unit properly that same day - I could have lost all my inventory!! It just shows they care about their work and about their customers. I always felt I was in good hands, plus they've both been a joy to work with. Denise and Wade were always polite, welcoming and happy. I highly recommend this business!! I sure hope I can use this business again in the future.

I had had a great experience with them just last year when I last moved and knew they'd be able to get the job done again. My project was immediately responded to and they were able to help me move two weeks later on their soonest available date. The three movers, Pat, Renaldo, and Kevin were incredible. Communication leading up to the move and theday of was great. They were able to move all my large furniture within 2 hours. Everything was wrapped carefully and efficiently. They were kind and thoughtful, helping me make adjustments to the furniture layout once we got to the destination. Their positivity through one of the hardest situations I've ever gone through was much-needed and made me feel confident in entering this next chapter. I even had a last minute change to the destination (originally everything was going into storage but I ended up finding an apartment just in time), and the professionalism and patience from the entire Bookstore team through this change was excellent. Pricing was reasonable yet again and came out to about $500 (excluding tip) for the truck fee and moving of 16 large items. Thank you Bookstore Movers for helping me when I needed it most!

We were disappointed with our recent experience with Bookstore Movers. The crew was polite, but the…read moremove felt much slower and less efficient than it should have been. We had a dedicated elevator, yet workers often brought items down only one or two at a time. I also saw team members on their phones or standing around in rooms and hallways instead of actively moving things. These delays added up quickly. The crew also misplaced parts of our bed frame, and the pieces had to be found before it could be reassembled. That alone added nearly an hour to the move. Because the move took much longer than expected, the final cost was significantly higher than the estimate we received. We were also charged based on an arrival time that was recorded as ten minutes earlier than when the crew actually arrived. The team was courteous, but given the inefficiency, added time, and higher final price, we would not use Bookstore Movers again. This is unfortunate, because we had been happy with them in previous moves.

Ultimately, especially if you live or are moving to downtown Baltimore I recommend using this storage place as it affords you quick access to things you might not always want in apartments that are most likely smaller than if you lived further outside of the downtown area. Finally, the staff is very nice and helpful. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 as tars is because whenever I come after closing there's almost always homeless people sitting in the relatively small parking space. Nothing that keeps me from still dropping things off, but it can be a little alarming as there's one guy who's definitely struggling with mental health challenges and will randomly start yelling.

Here is an update regarding an encounter with the Public Storage facility at 1415 Russell Street. The staffer took note and instructed me to call the tow company posted sign on the facility's line access gate. It cost me $315 ( $300 for the tow and $15 per day storage fee not to exceed $500). That Saturady I left a message on District Manager, Brad Neski's phone. I explained the circumstances and without going into detail about the status of my account with Public Storage; asked him to recompense a fraction of the cost based on previous clients' shared experiences similar to mine. Mr. Neski is a relatively new manager covering a wide region of the DMV. After due diligence reaching out the Auto Barn tow company, who by the way, never returned his call (Why would they? Their people got paid!). Within 48 hours Mr. Neski kept me abreast of the developments and made a decision to "make it right" and made a fair offer, which made me grateful. If you live downtown Baltimore and you're in a transitional period and you need a clean, well-maintained, climate control facility super close to 95 North and South on ramps.
