But because I don't remember the paper contract, I refused to sign the digital contract. Even though we were paying every month on time for the last four years, they refused to give us one more month with the unit because we refused to sign the contract. Additionally, after returning the unit, my credit card was charged two months in a row, and I had to call the company to get a refund on my credit card. I would recommend the business because the delivery and pickup of the unit was simple. But everything else involved with renting this unit, I don't recommend.

First I'd like to point out that for someone living in East Baltimore the location is fantastic. I'm in Fells Point and this was the closest and most convenient facility available with large outdoor storage. I had many small disasters the past year keeping my boat in the water so I decided to keep it on the trailer and launch as needed this year. The facility is maybe a mile and a half from the Canton War Memorial boat ramp, about as convenient as possible in the city. I could hook up my trailer and have the boat in the water in 15 minutes if all went well. The facility itself is clean, well kept, safe and secure. Shane and his wife, who run this storage facility, went above and beyond the expected level of customer service. I was having some repairs done in the spring that were taking weeks longer than expected. They held my spot on my word alone that I'd be leasing a space and were completely accommodating when I ran into problems and delays getting the boat and trailer there as planned. My trailer slightly exceeded the facility limits on length for outdoor spaces but they made it work anyway, without any hassle at all. Also, since I'd be bringing the boat back and forth on a regular basis they moved things around and found me a spot where I could easily pull the trailer in and out without being blocked by other vehicles. Anyone who's towed a trailer knows how much of a hassle backing in and out of tight spaces can be and they were eager to make my use of the facility as painless as possible. I have since moved my boat to an indoor boatel that is MASSIVELY more expensive and any bending of the rules or requests for special consideration are treated as a person affront to their business. Nothing like the family style operation at Self Storage Plus. It's refreshing that there are still some places that consider making the customer happy priority number 1. If you're looking for a storage facility in the city as far as I'm concerned there is no other choice.

Ultimately, especially if you live or are moving to downtown Baltimore I recommend using this storage place as it affords you quick access to things you might not always want in apartments that are most likely smaller than if you lived further outside of the downtown area. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 as tars is because whenever I come after closing there's almost always homeless people sitting in the relatively small parking space. Nothing that keeps me from still dropping things off, but it can be a little alarming as there's one guy who's definitely struggling with mental health challenges and will randomly start yelling.

I spoke with someone on the phone who gave a low quote, had immediate availability, and I understood the terms of the quote which were they charge a full hour just to come to your house for travel and then a two hour minimum. Our move went two hours over the minimum. This was not helped by the fact that they insisted on taking their time to wrap everything in plastic wrap even when we had some cheap stuff that we said just throw it on the truck we don't care, and disassembling things that really didn't require it. Our house was only 900 square feet and we did not have all that much and were moving less than a mile away, not across the state or country. We had to finally stop them and say this is getting to be too long and decided to dismount and move our TVs and bed frames by ourselves the next day. We were fine with paying for the extra two hours. Then comes the surprise: A $400 FEE FOR MATERIALS. What materials? Plastic wrap and packaging tape, and I suppose depreciation on their moving blankets? Seriously folks, this company will get you one way or another. Make sure that you have wrapped up everything yourself. Their workers were personable and hard-working, but the business model here is to ensure you go over the two hour minimum and to charge an exorbitant rate for materials. Do not be deceived on the phone when making the initial appointment by their very knowledgeable and reassuring booking staff. That's why I thought a two star rating must have been a mistake. I was talking to a real person. The text messages that were sent seemed to have prepackaged responses and I ask if I was talking to a bot they said no. They claimed their Yelp rating is low because they "don't pay for reviews like other companies." Well, I'm a real customer and have paid dearly to provide you, the unwitting consumer, with this review. Moving is stressful enough. Getting ripped off is just insult to injury. Their phone number will come up as spam on your phone, and if you've made it this far reading this review, you can understand why. If you're desperate and have lots of cash to burn, this company will be great. However, avoid if you can!

Great comeback customer from manager and staff!!!…read more I had an issue with the latch on my storage unit door. Every week for about 3 weeks, I left voicemails with the manager and talked to staff about fixing the issue, but the latch remained broken. I finally had a chance to talk to the manager. He stated he had an emergency incident at another location which occupied the service workers who normally repair latches. He assured me he would attend to the issue ASAP. He stated he kept a close eye on my unit throughout the holdup to make sure my belongings remained safe. The manager was a man of his word. After unpacking, I found none of my belongings were missing. He also reduced my monthly fee due to his delayed response to address the matter. I can't stress enough how happy I am with customer service of the staff at U-Haul Pulaski Highway. Great job!!! David Grenway
