The best food in Kanab, period. We always bring visitors here and every single one has been blown away. Service is excellent. Food is unique, delicious, and expertly prepared. Here are our favorites: AZ Beef Filet - Best cut and preparation of a filet that I've ever had anywhere. That includes high end steakhouses. The accompanying sauce and potatoes are also excellent. We've ordered this probably 20+ times at this point and it's always perfect. Order medium rare. Elote fritters, asparagus, cauliflower - I don't know how vegetables can taste this good, BUT THEY DO. Get all of these and enjoy. Artichoke mushroom toast - I'm not even a big mushroom person, but there is something amazing about this concoction. The texture of the bread, the spread, the perfectly cooked mushrooms, the sweet drizzle. It is so good! Banana bread pudding - My husband's favorite dessert of all time. The salted caramel, the candied nuts, the whipped cream... It's heavenly. Those are our favorites, but honestly, everything we've tried has been good, if not great. Every single dessert is great, especially the hot cookie. The salads are great. Everything! There are also specials and some of them have been knockout, like the salmon penne. So amazing! Amazing restaurant in Kanab!! This is one of the best restaurants you will ever go to. They are a tapas style so be prepared to order many different things and try them all. If you are here in the summer months you've got to get the pork belly watermelon. This is a great place to go for a date night in the area. It is a little classy and upscale but also very laidback because of the town it's in. We were driving through visiting national parks and wanted to try somewhere nice and this was the perfect place. They have a great menu with unique offerings for small plates to share. Everything we tried was delicious and one of a kind. The chef here really knows what they are doing! Nice ambience can be pretty busy considering it's one of the few restaurants nearby. The duck lo mein stole the show. But everytime a plate came out and we took a bite we said "oh em gee" what an amazing dining experience from start to finish! Excellent dinner spot with unique Asian-inspired dishes. Price is on the higher end, but for the quality of food well worth it. Service was amazing--staff apologized for the wait but we still received our food within 10 minutes of ordering. The restaurant was perfect for late evening dinner conversations with a mix of a casual and classy ambiance that worked well together. When you're in town for a week and this is the only place you choose to eat at, and multiple times, you know it's good! We tried all the specials, including the spicy watermelon pork belly and didn't have any complaints, just compliments. We walked in and got seated right away. We tried the pork belly and watermelon which was an unexpected but pretty good combination. The duck lo mein was tasty as well. The scallops were a but salty and the moroccan rib eye was slightly overcooked but good flavor. We wanted to try the walu but our server forgot to put the order in. I recommend planning and getting a reservation. We didn't have one so we walked in at the time they opened and there was a 30 minute wait. However the food was delicious and made up for that. Prickly pear margarita: 5 stars. good strong liquor. You have to mix in the prickly pear foam to get an even taste. Sweet and sour. Avocado toast: 4 stars. crunchy outside soft inside toast with avocado and the chipotle oil. However I wished I could get a drizzle of balsamic on it. The sunflower seeds gave it a good texture. Artichoke and mushroom toast: 5 stars. Toast was crunchy and lightly sweet in the outside bit soft on the inside. The cheese and savory mushroom tasted so good with the toast and herbs. Elote fritter: 4 stars. Very savory. Good but didn't appeal to much as much as the other dishes for some reason. The spicy dressing has a little kick of heat. Maybe too much batter a I was hoping for more corn. The cheese and green onion were great flavors too. Beet salad: 4 stars. slices of pickled (?not sure but they were tart) red beet with chunks of yellow beets underneath. Nice and fresh arugula tossed in oil. I would have liked a drizzle of vinegar or more of the pickled beets. Bone in prime rib: 5 star!!! Cooked perfect to order. My husband like well cooked and the meat was well done and still moist on the inside. We both shared this and still had leftovers. It was huge! 2lbs for $87with the bone. It is market price so depends on the pieces they have. However the meat was tender as would expect a prime ribs to be with great flavors - no other sauce or addition to flavor needed. After a 5-hour hike in Angels Landing at Zion and a 5-hour round-trip ride to Bryce Canyon, we returned to Kanab, where no restaurants were open on Christmas Day night. Sego was the only place that welcomed us. I cannot express enough gratitude for their kindness! The food was amazing; as a Chinese person, I truly enjoyed the fusion flavors in dishes like Cantonese shrimp and Dan Dan Lo Mein--creative and authentic. The veggies, especially the asparagus with creamy peanut butter and a hint of spice, were delightful. The beef filet was perfectly timed, the most tender steak I've ever had, with a sauce that blended various flavors. We made a dinner reservation for New Year's day and we were pleasantly surprised. Its location is within a boutique hotel and is quite cozy and the service is great. They have parking. Seating is Indoor and outdoor. The food is amazing. We started with Aun No Muerto and hot apple cider for drinks along with the elote fritters, peach salad, duck Lo mein, AZ beef filet and pistachio ice cream for dessert. Everything was top notch. We loved it so much that we decided to go back for dinner on another night. We tried a few different options like the beet salad, street food xoi, foraged mushroom, AZ beef filet and the Utah apple tart. Would highly recommend stopping here when in the vicinity. read more

This place was awesome! We ordered 4.5 plates between two of us. Our waiter suggested 3-5. 1/2 order was one of the toasts. Everything was great. A great and lovely experience here after our visit to horseshoe bend and antelope canyon. We heard a lot of great things about this place from a friend and came here for dinner. Even though we missed our reservation because of confusion about the day light savings time change, they were kind enough to have a table for us after a short wait. We tried four dishes which was enough for us (they say for two people 3-5 dishes are recommended). My most favorite was the duck meal, simply amazing. This quaint little gem is the best meal I've had on this trip so far. We were looking for some good food just coming from gran canyon and the food situation there is all pre boxed with no love. We had a big day and just wanted to sit down to a nice dinner and we were blown away! The service was exceptional and everyone was very knowledgeable about the menu. Stopped here on our way to Zion based on the reviews and were not disappointed. The only thing wrong with it is that is so far away from home. I wish I had enough money to porch this chef and his delicious creations and take him back to Tucson with me! Amazing meal. I hate when restaurants say tapa style and over charge for mediocre plates. Not here. Every dish was stellar! We started with the baked Brie toast. Perfectly melted and creamy brie cheese served with pistachios, apple butter, figs and crostinis. Great way to start the meal. Hit all the notes expected. Then we had an order of the wok tossed broccolini. Served with chili oil and Chinese preserved black beans and nutritional yeast. This dish was so on point it really could stand alone as an entree. Fresh broccolini still had its snap and the chili oil and salty preserved black beans with a bit of black garlic type umami dang in my mouth. I'm not ashamed to say I did a little happy dance. I haven't had a dish this creative in awhile. (And I eat out ALOT). Next up we're the scallops served over a cauliflower popcorn purée with roasted foraged mushrooms and smoked pecorino. Wow! The silky but flavor packed purée was a great accompaniment to the sweet perfectly cooked scallops. The meaty mushrooms added a earthy element that rounded out the dish well. Next out was the arizona filet. It had an espresso chili rub, ancho and agave steak sauce, horseradish crema and pecorino potatoes. Steak was cooked perfectly and the rub made it so savory. The steak sauce and horse radish gave it a nice sweet and spicy kick. The potatoes were to die for. Crispy outside, soft inside and covered in an amazing pecorino cheese coating. My only critique here is it came out sliced. I would have preferred to cut it myself to preserve some of those juices. Last but it's certainly not least we're the sweet and spicy ribs! Homerun here folks! Sweet and spicy sambal sauce topped with crispy shallots! These ribs fell off the bone, were moist and packed with flavor. I wanted to lick the bowl clean! This place may seem a bit pricey but is worth every penny and then some. The decor is an updated traditional with beautiful glass sconces and glass artwork. read more

This place is amazing! We had such a wonderful experience! Our server Dereck gave absolute outstanding customer service. That dude needs a raise. My wife had a low blood sugar and our server rushed to the kitchen brought her some sweetener and it boosted her up right away. He was very attentive to everyone's needs and knowledgeable in the food and drinks presented. The restaurant is located in a hotel with beautiful decor and light ambiance that feels welcoming. The food delightfully tasty, we opened our pallet with the chef choices of fig salad and felafel. Our entree consisted of the sweet and spicy ribs that were just finger licking good, it's like eating a meat popsicle. We also got the AZ steak fillet that was quite epic with flavors beyond your comprehension, along with cheesy potatoes that you can't stop eating. We ended the night with the chefs choice recommended by Dereck which was the buttermilk pie with vanilla ice cream on top. It was the best pie we've ever had. Shoutout to the pastry chef. An unexpected spot in Kanab! We were staying in Kanab after canyoneering for my birthday, and while I had settled on being OK with some decent pizza, Sego showed up so we gave it a shot! We ordered for pick up and were pleased to see most staff taking COVID precautions seriously. We were in hiking clothes and with COVID and all, chose not to dine in. The ambiance inside is really well done, with good mood lighting. Coming from San Francisco, we had reason to be a little more judgmental. This wasn't phenomenal compared to what we've had elsewhere, but was certainly a delicious meal and perfect for the occasion. A stellar way to end your day in Kanab. We ordered: -asparagus (surprisingly good but steamed up in my to go container, to no fault of the restaurant) -Sego Noodles (good amount of crab, a little greasy) -wings (hard pass for me, these were... fine, but the flavor isn't on point for me) -duck lo mein (generous amount of duck, good portion, not too greasy) -Banana bread pudding for dessert - a delicious, not too sweet end to the meal! The prices were fair, but this is certainly an expensive spot for anyone outside of a major city. I'm sure the experience would have been even more enjoyable had we been able to dine in.
