We love Sees candy but yesterday it was Saturday and very busy and the 2nd staffer, a woman never came out of the back of the store and left the line guy to handle all the guests. He chatted with us and we got to have a nice visit, he found us each of the Chocolates we were looking for while telling us about new products to try in the future. I have been to this location a few times and they tend to be very busy right when they open at 10. Today, I was the only one in the shop which made my trip quick. - I always get the Scotchmallows and peppermint patties in dark chocolate. The associates wear face masks and gloves, along with their See's signature white uniforms & aprons. Today, as we were entering, associates were sanitizing the register & counter areas as well as display areas. For customers entering the store, a face covering is required and social distancing is enforced as indicated by signs & cleverly worded floor decals. One can buy a single piece or two, a pre-packaged boxed selection or custom craft a box of their delicious, handmade confections. They carry chocolates, carmels, toffees, marzipan, lollipops and many other treats. Around major holidays, See's offers unique specialty items on a limited basis. There is no sales pressure from the associates, as they encourage customers to browse around the store. Free samples are usually offered as a customer enters, however at this time they are now being given as one leaves the store. This store is compact, but is well-stocked with lots of goodies. TEMPORARILY CLOSED Finally got over there to pick up a couple little bags of our favorite indulgence (the dark chocolate-covered almonds), but the sign on the door said CLOSED, and it was dark inside. A call to their phone number sends you into a limbo-like nether region, and See's website indicates this location is, indeed "Temporarily Closed". I went to the Paso Robles See's Candy Store yesterday, and it was packed at 3:30PM. The staff and customers were both calm, patient, and pleasant. I was offered samples twice and was helped with my order of a half pound of carmels and five gift cards for a pound of chocolate for each of my co-workers. To my delight, I was helped by a wonderful man with a beautiful complexion and a kind disposition to go along with it. He introduced me to the seasonal Egg Nog Truffle, and I was so impressed that I purchased a box of those as well. Visited here yesterday & the new staff, while wanting to be helpful are not well trained. Everything took much longer because the cashier was not clear on how things worked. Also I asked for choc covered almonds but just tried one & they gave me chocolate covered peanuts instead of choc almonds. Never had that happen before. This store, in the past, was well run ....so hopefully they will be able to get past this current season of challenges but in the meantime, I'll head to the SLO store. read more

The Girl manager, I think her name is Bree, she is so helpful, she is patient and friendly while helping. If I could rate a zero I would. I've lived here my whole life but moved away 5 years ago. I try to come back about once a year to see family. It's Christmas time so I'm home!! Yay! I went into See's, for the first time in Paso yesterday and oh my god the people working there were INCREDIBLY rude. When had started to walk in but realized we had forgotten our masks so we stepped back out and I jammed to my car to grab the masks. Unfortunately I forgot to bring my kiddo her sizes masks so she didn't have one on but my husband and I both did. When we started to walk in the first time I noticed a very tall gentleman without his mask on. Doesn't bother me none. We get up to the glass to pick our chocolates for my moms Xmas present. My dang glasses kept fogging up so I removed my mask so I could look at the chocolates. I was asked once, "can you please put your mask on?" And I said "I'm so sorry, I have it off just while I look at the chocolates because I can see, my glasses keep fogging up." So another lady is asking me what I would like in my box, I'm trying to rush to look at the chocolates since my mask was off. I was moving around an older lady who was also getting a custom box to look at what they had when the same lady from before says "and you're supposed to be practicing social distancing". That's was a bad choice because my husband then got pissed off and said "you didn't say anything to the other gentleman that was in here without a mask and you didn't say anything to this family(pointing to the people behind us) who also aren't wearing a mask!" VERY LOUD. They(hubs and 2 ladies) then started arguing so I turned around to him and politely asked him to go outside, which he did. Then the lady putting my box together asks again what else I would like in my box, which at this point I never got a chance to look at the chocolates, so I said "just that one flavor I guess because I can't even see anything" so she said okay and politely asked me if I would like it gift wrapped. I asked if it was free and she said yes so i said yes please. I wanted to buy 2 more boxes of chocolates but was so upset with the 2 ladies that were so rude to us that I just got the one box of chocolates and an ornament. I love See's. I hate that they are not open 24/7 because inevitably when I want some they are closed. But maybe that's for the best. No...in fact, I am sure that's for the best. This store is not huge but they have eveything and it's fully self-contained. It is always clean and the staff are always very nice and polite. It's the See's way to offer you excuses to come back, so don't sweat that. Just enjoy browsing, steepling your fingers as you decide on the perfect piece. Or buy a box. They make great gifts! (Oh sheesh, see they've got me slinging their wares for them now too.) Or just get a bag (which I do with my wife a lot) and just pick and choose a piece or three. Walked in about fifteen minutes before closing and was greeted by an older woman who gave us a free sample which was nice. I had never been in there before so my boyfriend and I were looking around for a minute trying to wrap our minds around what we wanted. The women from the counter said to us, "What are you going to get? I'm closing in five." She was displeased with our lagging and we understood she was closing in fifteen minutes but I've honestly never felt so rushed out of a store. If she was closing in fifteen that means I had fifteen minutes right?! She was trying to get the heck out of there which I understand but being rude to customers to rush them out is not ok. i went to the store today to buy 30 pieces of chocolate. you know something for the wife for valentines day so i approach one of the employee her name was (Jill) so she can help me out, when i did she gave a dirty look, when she was helping me, its seem like it was a hassle and at the same time she was giving me a hard time, this experience was just awful, (Jill) to top it of she was rushing me to hurry up and there was no one, i did end up buying the chocolates and left, but the only good thing about this experience is that there was one person that came up to me to apologize on behave her other co-worker. but over all it doesn't mater if the chocolate are good bad service wont get you customer so i thing management should look at what type of people they hired read more
