Stopped here pretty much all the time whenever we're in Morro Bay. It's always for either a tea, coffee and some sort of sweets. It is a candy store so you must have something to enjoy. They have a good selection of sweets, and a lot of flavors of salt water taffy. It's also somewhat of a gift store with little trinkets and souvenirs. The selections of truffles candies were really nice. So many to choose from as they all looked so good. Not sure if they're made on site or delivered to. Also the selections of jelly beans were impressive. Picked up one of the strawberry truffle and raspberry truffle. Both were quite nice and not overly sweet. It's a nice little shop that does offered a lot of sweet and coffee drinks. I alway forget that they have a good selection of rice crispy treats which is one of my favorite. It was freezing yesterday evening as we were wrapping up our day trip to the coast. I needed something hot to sip on but also to help warm my hands. We stopped in at Kelli's and ordered a mocha. Despite their shop being filled with customers, service was quick and we were outta there in about 5 minutes. They have lots of goodies to pick from, but this was an emergency situation - we were in and out. I will definitely stop in next time and take my time to look around a bit more. read more

Absolutely love the almond pistachio ice cream! Great flavor with full sized almonds. They have another delicious sounding flavor with Heath Bar, but they were out. Hoping they refill that one by the end of this holiday weekend. read more

Down by the rock. Coffee and candy. Ordered two coffees and two pieces of candy. Pecan sugar free bar and white covered Oreos. They were both just okay. $2.50 for two pieces seemed like an okay price. Coffees average The girl that took our order was nice answered our questions, etc. The girl that made our made an okay coffee seemed bothered. When we asked where cream was, she was dramatic on pointing to location. She left us not wanting to return...ever. read more

Alright here's what I will say about Kelli's candy, if your going here to buy packaged, name brand candy, it's a regular experience, probably 4/5 start. I was told by a friend that this place had excellent salt water taffy, so when I came here I had high expectations. I'm gonna keep it real here; the salt water taffy was ass. I took one bite and threw it away. The overall ambiance of the store was fine, but the service was mediocre at best. I don't think I'll be coming back, next time I'll try Carousel Taffy. read more

If you wants sweets, this is the place to go here along the Embarcadero. They have chocolate, fudge, candy and ice cream. And if you're looking for sugar-free, they've got that too! Super friendly service. The person who helped us was very cordial and patient. We had a big party, with different people getting different things, but he kept us our order organized. He also offered samples of fudge and ice cream. I love that they have all sorts of different kinds of sweets. Stopped in to find some nonpareils. Didn't have any, BUT they did have some excellent dark chocolate fudge with walnuts. So good. My wife made me share and now I'll have to wait till tomorrow to get some more. You can bet it won't be just one piece!!! read more

We promised the grandson ice cream last night, so after watching the sunset over Cayucos, we made the five minute drive to MB for a tasty treat. The ice cream at Kellie's Candies is really good! The girl who waited on us was super nice and very patient. The grandson had ONE scoop of double chocolate. He counted four times the girl reached in the tub for ice cream! Four little partial scoops made one nice sized scoop. He was so excited! The hubby had mocha almond fudge. Our daughter had vanilla, like me. Less than $20 total for our four scoops of ice cream. Our grandson loved the dark chocolate ice cream, as evidenced by his chocolate face. Lol! The hubby said the mocha almond fudge was really tasty. And the vanilla was great...vanilla bean! So good! In addition to the ice cream counter, they have candies and chocolates in a case. Always a fun, tasty experience when we stop at Kelli's! read more

Walking down Morro Bay shops and me and the Mrs. had a sweet tooth. Not the first time I've been here, I always get some chocolate but I never have had their ice cream. So glad I chose to have ice cream this time. The first bite was extra creamy and had good flavor. Every bite had so many pecans. I'm not a big ice cream fan but I truly enjoyed Kelli's ice cream. If you are having a sweet tooth attack and are in the Morro Bay Area, then come in and grab some candy or some delicious ice cream. All kinds of yummy treats at this store ! We found some delicious rice krispy treats in Cafe Mocha and Capn' Crunch. Took home a few chocolates too. This was our first time here , usually there line was pretty long but scored this trip. Everything was fresh and the staff was nice . We bought 1 scoop ice cream times two. We received maybe 2 table spoons of ice cream not each, NOT ONE SCOOP! also I asked for Rocky Road and I received something red with one marshmallow and zero nuts, I have no clue what it actually was. The price was $6.50 each which I do not mind paying per scoop but seriously why give me a one scoop cup and barely put anything in it, it was over half empty, when I spoke up, she said oh we were almost out, SERIOUSLY? The photos tell it all. Lots and lots of candy. All kinds of candies. Wrapped and bulk. Be aware when your grandchildren dash about for their half pound of faux nutrition. Pretty much centered on the Embarcadero, Kelli's has been around for quite awhile. The variety is stupefying. One of the better assortments I have seen in quite a time. Staff are mostly young girls, almost always in the summers. Open every day. Pleasant people who show a lot a patience given the many children who are grabbing about. read more

There are so many candy purveyors on the wharf it's tough to distinguish one from another. Location and coffee are why we came in. Every inch of this cluttered store has candy. Somehow they've also found room for ice-cream, pre-portioned fudge, and various handmade chocolates. They also have a nice selection of vintage sweets on the back wall (candy cigarettes anyone?). We picked up a few pieces of taffy and some Rice Krispy treats for a boat tour. We really wanted some hot coffee because Morro Bay is always foggy and windy... So we ordered two drip coffees. Well they were out of coffee after the first cup so they had to make a new one. So we got one coffee that was warm-hot, and one that was very hot.. Training issue I guess, next time they should keep a better eye on when they were very low, and also she should have just made both from the new batch.... there was no half and half out and it had to be requested. They gave us the carton from the fridge. The coffee bar needs to be placed in a better location and needs to look nicer. Man, if these guys could really clean up their coffee process (including selling local coffee) it has a prime location with all the tour boats around. Overall Kelli's is a good place for sweets. The location is perfect but if they enhance their coffee service they might be a huge hit, and get a repeat visit from us. read more

My wife and I often vacation in Pismo Beach and when we do, we always stop by Morro Bay to shop and eat. One place we enjoy getting a sweet treat is KELLI'S CANDIES. We recently stopped by on a Tuesday at about 3:00pm. There were several employees working behind the counter and we ordered a small strawberry sorbet. It was an ample size for us to share. It was good and firm too. Not soft and melting already. We have stopped by this location for ice cream / sorbet several times over the last four years and the service has always been just fine. The people there are friendly and the prices are fair for what you would expect in a tourist town. There is parking on the street and a free parking lot across the street along with a public restroom. We will surely return in the future. read more

My son wanted ice cream, walked in, service was awesome, ice cream and waffle cones were good. No problems. They even have a shared public bathroom you can use as needed. My review is for the coffee/chai latte alone. My kids got some candy and they really don't have the greatest selection and some of the bulk candy seemed stale. Let's talk about my elderflower chai latte though! It was super hot and so creamy! Made with milk and not watered down. Wonderful flavor! I want to say that this owner knows what it means to be concerned about their customers. I had a slight service issue and Kelli was on this so quickly it made my head spin. She made sure to address my concerns and even did some extra customer service training with her team. I say kudos to her!! So many people loose sight that their customers can make or break their business based on the service given. Kind of pricey, but what else would you expect from a place catering to tourists? The fudge we bought was delicious- dark chocolate caramel sea salt, and tasted like that marshmallow based fudge you'd make at home, only better! The Mexican mocha I had was pretty good, but nothing super special. The place caters to the nostalgia of childhood, with old school candies, chotchkies, and the attached arcade. It's a lot of fun to play air hockey or pinball at night when you're done kayaking. Take a look :) read more

My girlfriend & I were finishing up the Tiki Cruise while visiting Morro Bay and were looking for a coffee fix. As you enter this place it gives a retro feel, they have plenty of candies and sweets that are not sold in retail stores. While in line we saw their specials, and decided to get their Lavender Matcha Latte. We were blown away by how good it was! The B & W Mocha was another great choice too that we should have gotten. Taffy flavors were great as was the service. But we also got some chocolate covered toffees and they were gross and inedible , both the chocolate and the toffee tasted very off!! First time in my life that I've had bad chocolate! :( read more

I now know NOT to go here on my next trip. However word to the travelers to this area the bakery across the street was more then happy to serve us and paid attention. Went here for a little scoop of ice cream for my son and a hot fudge sundae for my husband and I. When I got and paid for the sundae, I tasted it and noticed that the "hot fudge" was just chocolate syrup. I asked the girl behind the counter about it, and she said, "Oh yeah sorry we are out of hot fudge" I asked if there is anything she could do to help me and she said she could give me more syrup. The whole point was I wanted a hot fudge sundae not a chocolate syrup sundae. By the way, the "sundae" ,even if it did have hot fudge, has nothing else. No whipped cream, no nuts or a cherry. If you're out if hot fudge that's fine, just tell me and I would have just gotten something else, instead of being sneaky and hoping I wouldn't notice. read more

Generally speaking, if an owner wants to make things right, they either simply apologize for the poor experience or they could reach out and offer a replacement experience or product. It is a very poor practice to expect the customer to ask for a replacement product when what you served/ provided was awful. I watched your employee make me the coffee, I had no reason to believe that a second cup would have been any better. Both the fudge and the coffee were thrown out. read more

This is a very nice little candy and ice cream shoppe. It's open a bit later than most of the other ice cream shops in Morro Bay, so we wind up coming here frequently. The help is always very friendly even if they do get very busy on holidays and during the summer months. Still, good stuff for reasonable prices. And they have some ice cream made at Cal Poly if you are interested. read more
