I'm not sure what's up with the taffy, but the flavors are so good and the consistency isn't. I don't know what happened but the whole bag that I put together was so sticky that the taffies were not whole pieces of candy that you can pop into your mouth, but gooey messes that you have to scrape off the wrapper with your teeth, or just throw away. Did they maybe get heated up and then cooled? I don't know if this is my own fault but as far as I know they never reached a warm temperature after I purchased them, so it seems like they started off this way. All that aside, the coconut taffy and peanut butter taffy (has peanut butter in the middle) are super good. Like, ridiculously good. I also purchased a milk chocolate honeycomb, which was AMAZING. Definitely check out their specialty chocolates and maybe ask for a sample of the taffy before buying a whole bag. read more

Waited behind two people getting candy and ice cream. Then someone walked in after I waited 5 mins and they took they before me. Young homeless kid that doesn't comb his long hair out , never said hello to me or said he be right with me. Went down the street and got the same stuff $3 a pound cheaper. read more

They have the best ice cream and best service! We love visiting and trying the new flavors of SLO Ice Cream they are serving when we come to Morro Bay. read more

Girl at counter was nice but had no clue how to make coffee. Didn't listen to order. Man cleaning ice cream freezer was chewing gum while hovering over ice cream to serve. Wouldn't suggest it if you like coffee read more

There was a blonde girl helping my boyfriend and me, and she was BEYOND RUDE. And she knew she was being rude and tried playing it off saying she was just really tired and busy, but then CONTINUED TO BE RUDE. She literally threw my candy in the bag with so much attitude I had to walk away, i will never come back here because I felt so uncomfortable just trying to buy candy?? She definitely shouldn't work there or in any form of customer service. read more

The chocolate from this place was mediocre, but the ice cream was delicious. We ordered the coffee ice cream and the chocolate/orange ice cream. YUM. Plus, the girl behind the counter was super nice and helpful, and gave us tons of samples to try. Come for the ice cream, but skip the chocolate! read more

What a fun place to stop in with the kids while visiting Morro Bay. We enjoy browsing the large selection of candy, and playing the arcade games. My favorites are the peanut butter cups, and Dewers peanut butter taffy. I love that you can choose specific colors of M&M's which is great for parties. The coffee & espresso is pure perfection on a foggy cold day on the embarcadero. I love that it is locally roasted by SLO Roast. I highly recommend making Kelli's Candy a destination during your Central Coast trip! read more

I got an ice cream cone for my two-year old daughter while visiting Morro Bay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If we ever stop by Morro Bay we'll definitely stop here again! read more

This is a friendly sweet shop right on the Embarcadero in Morro Bay. The selection is decent, they have a little dispenser with free Jelly Bellies, and they gave me free hot chocolate with my purchase, since the gal said "You bought a lot and it's a cold walk out there." I love free stuff, but moreover I love customer service attendants that care that much about their patrons. The chocolate items were yummy, too: my 7-layer bar was tasty and surprisingly not overly-sweet. My 8-year old's Smores bar was really tasty, too. I highly recommend stopping in and sampling some sweets! read more

Extremely overpriced candy!! I wouldn't go there again. $23 lb for taffy. Gave it one star because I had to.

Had the ice cream....ive been on a diet and since on vacation thought i would have one small ice cream....ended up throwing the ice cream out :( Although the staff was friendly and helpful, the ice cream was not very good... The pecan butter ice cream was not frozen....very melted down...the mint chip tasted like lime...which didnt make any sense. read more

Great little candy and ice cream shop. Friendly staff and the dark chocolate anything is excellent. They have a ridiculous variety of jelly beans if that's your thing. Plus the ice cream. Not sure if it's a brand name ice cream or not, but it's really good. Go for the rocky road or the cotton candy. And get a dark chocolate covered marshmallow while you're at it. read more

We had the coffee ice-cream and it was the BEST coffee ice-cream we've ever had. Not sure if it is a brand but the girl mentioned that they make it nearby. The kids had frosted cupcake and they claimed it was really good too. The girl helping us was super friendly. I am glad we made the detour. read more

Kelli's Candies is the place we always go after a meal in Morro Bay for candy, ice cream, coffee, and to play video games. I love the taffy that they carry - it's absolutely delicious (try the peanut butter!) My little boy always asks to get their mint chip ice cream on a cone. That is our absolute favorite flavor and this is the place to get it! Their sundaes are so good, too. Lastly, we love the variety of candy choices - both old-fashioned and those of today. We have always been served with a smile. I can't wait to go back! read more

This place has great candies, but the cashiers are snotty, rude and love to make snide comments about customers when they THINK you can't hear them. Typical bratty teenagers running that place. I'd rather pay a higher price than deal with brats that can roll their eyes better than dice at a craps table in Vegas! read more

We were in here last night about 6pm. It was VERY crowded and only one girl working. She was FANTASTIC!!! She helped everyone as quickly as she could and let the others know she would be right with them. The food was great, but I especially want the owner to know that whoever she was that was working last night did great!!! Thank you!!! ;o) read more

I really like this little candy shop. It has something for everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE. The candy shop is located right in the center of the embarcadero, and as seen in previous posts, has an arcade attached. There is quite a bit to take in here; from the areas delicious novelty taffy, to a wall of Jelly Belly jelly beans. The store has a cupcake display, and a candy display with delicious chocolates, of which I love the Cashew caramel square covered in chocolate and sea salt. There are plastic tube canes, which can be filled by sour sugar powder dispensers which I am sure any child would love. Also for the mature patrons, do not miss the back wall, where you will find a myriad of candy from 1900 to the modern times... many of which you cannot attain anywhere else I have been. It was cool to eat candy from every century, and enjoy their progression. If you are brave you can even get a sucker filled with insects like ants caterpillar, or even a scorpion.... or try the new Jelly Belly line if you dare! The flavors are, well... and experience :)) read more

One of the cutest little treasures in Morro Bay. The interior is Willy Wonka meets the seaside. The workers were so sweet, almost as sweet as the candy. The girl working was so knowledgeable and was really happy to help us. Your kids will love this place. read more

Kelli's Candies has a really nice staff that is always there and has a great attitude. They have great candy to pick from, coffee drinks, and even ice cream. I look forward to visiting Kelli's candies every time I go to Morro Bay! read more

I would avoid this place in the future as a frequent visitor to Morro Bay. This is a typical example of an owner of a small business, just "phoning it in". They have a fabulous location on the Embarcadero and as such, are guaranteed walk-in traffic, and for that reason, the owner doesn't even try.......such a shame. We ordered two cafe-lattes which were just cups of hot milk with way too little coffee in them. In fact, another customer came up to the counter with the same complaint and demanded his money back, which he was given by a somewhat sullen counter clerk. We ordered a little chocolate thing, and when I asked her to please cut it in half, she replied "we don't have any utensils" - how weird is that when it is an establishment that serves food? The barista girl was very friendly however; just needs a little guidance on how to make a cafe-latte. read more

Nice little candy shop. Decent selection and service was pretty good. Really enjoyed their fudge selection.

My wife and I stopped by on Saturday 6/4/2016 for a little bit of sweets,I settled on the dark chocolate English toffee, she the dark chocolate covered pretzel. Both were stale. My English toffee stuck to my teeth so bad I almost threw it away. ...beware always ask for a sample. read more

Love Kelli's Candies. Have been there four times in the last year and became a huge fan of their salted caramels. Usually would buy a couple of pounds at a time. Was a little disappointed this past Sunday, April 10, when I visited and found they'd changed those caramels. Please go back to previous shape, which never stuck to the plastic wrapping and were much easier to unwrap. I mentioned it to the young workers there, they handled my "complaint" with aplomb, one girl suggesting I put the caramels in the refrigerator for five minutes and there should be no sticking. Good idea up to a point - after they heat back up a bit they stick again. They're still very good caramels, though. My favorite by far in the store, with the peanut butter fudge balls a close second. Since that's all I usually buy in the store, that's reason for the four stars. Otherwise, I would have give five. read more

I LOVE KELLI'S CANDIES! Kelli's has a great selection of ice cream, espresso, coffee, and VERY delicious treats. I had a cappuccino and my wife had an almond milk chai latte and they were pure perfection! The girl who made our drinks, Paige, was super friendly and seemed to know just about everything about morro bay and about the quality of the ingredients in their treats around the store. We loved it in the store so much that we came after dinner to get some of their locally made ice cream. The guy who served me named Larry was very helpful and gave us huge ice cream portions. We will definitely be coming into Kelli's soon! read more

It was ok, but I feel like the store should've been bigger, or had a little bit more variety.

I came to kellis candies the other day to get some sweets and ran into a very sociable and catering worker by the name of Paige. She knew a lot about the store and the area and helped my family and I by informing us about how to navigate morro bay. read more

They are COMPLETELY rude. I was here over the weekend for the Avocado & Margarita Festival. There was one girl in particular who just kept complain and cursing about how badly the place was run. She called herself a manager, just sitting on a crate behind the counter with her thumb up her butt. I could not believe a person would be eating ice cream not working, just talking and bad mouthing a business. When we were helped we ordered Caramel Lattes. They tasted like the watered down coffee along with stale milk. One of the girls with all this crazy colored hair was nice and super sweet to us who helped us out with ringing up. But the "manager" would give us one look and continue to eat her ice cream and watch the movie. I was very unimpressed at this neat little candy store. But the employees and how they have no customer service what so ever, was very disappointing. The last time I was in Morro Bay and tried this place out I had a wonderful time. That was only a couple months ago too. So in about 3 months for employees to change and have no skill in customer service was a disappointment. I will NEVER go back inside of that business ever again! read more
