I and 5 others in my family got to watch an entire batch from start (sugar just cooked) to finish (cut warmed candy). Have you ever wondered how they make such pretty, detailed pictures in miniature bites of hard candy? Craig and Tanner were both a joy to learn from! They shared so many details of candy making, from how they think about the 3D design of a piece, to how they deal with air bubbles, how they make troughs for the color additions, and so much more. They were extremely friendly and fantastic hosts! As we watched them form the letters, and the picture, it was amazing for me and my kids to ask different questions as they worked. And then they stretch the huge roll of candy down to the proper tube sizes, BY HAND, and hand cut it all too. AND one of the best parts, you get to try the candy when its still warm, which you can never do when you buy it in a store! The whole process was a bit over an hour for the design we saw (a tombstone for their Halloween mix), and was engaging from start to finish. We ordered coffees first, then waited while she balanced all her other jobs before eventually coming back to take our food order. We found a cozy spot inside and probably waited around 30 minutes for the food. That said, the meal itself was really good. We had a basic breakfast, the breakfast tacos, the Morning Glory sandwich, and the sourdough toast was especially delicious. Portions were on the smaller side for the price, but overall it was a tasty meal. We'd definitely consider coming back on a less crowded day when things hopefully feel a little more staffed and manageable.
