Stopped in on our way back from Carmel because my wife read that Paso Robles had great olive oil (I thought of it as just for wine). Found this place through Yelp and it was one of a couple just off our way south, so it wasn't hard to make a pit stop. We were helped by a brunette lady (I forget her name), who was delightful and very knowledgeable. She gave us a sampling tour which gave us the breadth of flavors of olive oils. Who knew there was so many varieties?! Ok so maybe just I don't know but... Anyway, we left with 2 varieties: the cucina (blend of varietals) and soltera (one olive) as well as a spice mix and some truffle salt. Mmmm all so good! We have since been ordering olive oil from Pasolivos now for a few months since the visit. And now we cannot go back to the Costco olive oil we used to get. Btw, imported olive oil is likely not pure olive oil. There's no quality control, so you don't know what you'll get (cut with canola, etc). Seriously, we cannot go back to our old olive oil ways. We are now addicted to this award winning locally sourced California olive oil from Pasolivos! There was something a mix up in a big order I picked up back in November at the ranch location which I kept putting off to call about. I was visiting the area again and thought, since I was walking passed the downtown store, I would just stop by to mention the issue. Mallory offered to make it right without hesitation. At that time, I was able to take home a bottle of the tangerine oil. Once it ran out, I knew I wanted to visit Pasolivo to get more. Barbara led our tasting last week and she was very friendly and knowledgeable. There are several flavors and each olive oil is high on the polyphenols-- translation: they're very good for you. Great place to stop at to do some olive oil and vinegar tasting. Mallory was the one that helped us and she was great. Very patient and explained each oil/vinegar we tasted with recommendations on how to use each. Their olive oils taste very pure and not processed like other places I've been to. Especially the flavored oils. They tasted fresh and not processed with other ingredients and left it in its natural form. The bread they give you to sample the oils was also fresh. I've been to other locations that give you stale bread. We ended up signing up for a membership. One thing to note is that I find their products to be on the pricier side for sure. I'm hoping what we purchased translate in to our food at home. I do like their gift boxes and bags that they pack your items in. Very high end. read more

We saw this location while walking around downtown Paso Robles & came in for a tasting. We have been to their ranch location before & the service & attentiveness is the same. We tasted a few olive oils including lemon, basil, habanaro, chimi churi & ghost pepper rubs etc. They were so helpful & descriptive & recommended pearings as far as the products were concerned. Just walked out. We stood there for 15 minutes waiting to get someone's attention. Their sale associates doesn't greet anyone. I get that even if you're busy with another customer but should at least say hello or just a friendly smile would work. We wanted to purchase some souvenirs home and check out their olive oils. DO NOT join their membership. I've cancelled my membership twice with them and they won't take action. I am not pursuing legal action and diputed the most recent charge with my credit card company. They continue to try and ship me products against a membership that I've cancelled on the phone and on through their website. Almost impossible to get anyone to answer the phone. She called and talked to a representative at the store and they said they would honor her discount (she is currently a member) even if we picked it up. When we went to pick up they refused to honor the discount. Beautiful store, excellent service, unlimited opportunities of flavors tasting. They also gave you brownies from citrus olive oil, sugar spices to dip in, bottle of water, etc. Spectacular experience!! Cannot be any more happy about in this store! Also tasting in this store is free while taste in the ranch is $5. All oil are processed in the ranch nearby where olive trees were grown, olives handpicked and processed. The only suggestion I have to the business is maybe sell smaller bottles of oil. We sadly walked away empty handed because we didn't know how to use up a big bottle and it's $44.95. Hubs and I had a wonderful getaway in Paso recently. One of our favorite things to do is go olive oil tasting at the local ranches. One of our favorites is Pasolivo. We visited both the ranch and their downtown store this time around. What a pleasant experience we had at the downtown store. It was during the pandemic, so all precautions were taken (hand sanitizing, mask wearing, even oil tasting outside). Eleanor was working that day. What a sweet one she is. She took her time to answer all our questions, set us up with a wonderful tasting and was fun to chat with. She really made our experience a rich one. She was personable and considerate. It made all the difference. Besides the wonderful oils Pasolivo makes (that's a given), we LOVE their hand sanitizer spray! The peppermint one smells wonderful and leaves our hands super soft as well as sanitized. With all the natural ingredients it's made with, I don't mind spraying throughout the day. Then there's my other favorite: the dipping dish (see pic). What a great little product! It's beautiful and so fun to use. I could go on and on. You have to check this store out when you're downtown. They specialize in olive oil and are essentially the downtown tasting room for the Pasolivo Ranch. If you stop by you can try their olive oil tasting flight for free! A similar thing up at the Ranch (probably fancier) will be $5. Heads up it seems like they make a limited amount every season and keep a supply of every flavor for tasting. Their Basil flavor is reportedly especially popular. While we were able to taste it, they didn't have any of the big bottles available for purchase. It's just up the street from Downtown City Park, so all the diagonal and normal street parking is available to them. Easy place to drop by if you're just around the green area to eat and shop. It's pricey, but even the olive oil in wine country comes in a variety of tastes, in wine bottles, and with corresponding awards and certification. Apparently, Pasolivo is run by an olive oil sommelier and everything. The tasting was so bougie with the bread slices come individual bags with branded stickers and branded water bottles, along with herbs and their own garlic salt to go with the different oils. XD It's a great local, Californian product/souvenir you can get if you or the person you're gifting doesn't want wine. Additionally, they also produce and sell a variety of vinegar, salt, spices, bath and body products, and condiments (sauces, olives, honey). There was also kitchenware (ex. wooden dishes, coasters, packs of very pretty napkins, etc.) and house stuff (ex. candles, table cloths, picture frames). Not sure they made those, but it does just make this a really great souvenir shop on its own. Overall, would recommend visiting and I do consider it a unique Paso Robles experience. Lady who helped us was SUPER helpful and very thorough in relaying information. It truly was like a wine tasting but with olive oil, down to her going over the process about how the herbs or whatever are crushed along with the olives rather than having the flavoring added separately. However, my favorite remains the discovery of their garlic salt. It goes great with eggs lol. It was definitely a great place to go before the holidays, and they seem like they have a steady stream of local customers. read more

Super disappointed that I have to give a poor review. Pasolivo's products are delicious! We had incorporated them into pretty much all of our home culinary dishes. We referred so many friends to become members, bought Pasolivo as gifts, and purchased a couple hundred dollars worth of items every 1-2 months. However, the customer service and shipment quality control are abysmal, and thus we and several others have canceled our membership. There is a major issue with shipments and poor response from Pasolivo; sometimes no response at all. Shipments get lost for months at a time, incorrect items shipped, missing items from shipment, open items shipped AND they waste so much shipping material in the process of screwing every shipment up. Our last order was delivered with an opened leaking bottle. I called half a dozen times and was referred directly to people; none picked up nor responded to my VM. Never received a response via email either. We are still waiting for a response both via VM and email from Pasolivo. We were forced to dispute the charge with our credit card company, who refunded the charge due to the shipment being sent open and Pasolivo never responding. It took 3 different shipments over the course of a month for all of our ordered items to be delivered in our last member shipment. What a waste of shipment material and quite frustrating to have to wait so long for the items initially ordered. It took them a month, after we canceled our membership, to confirm the cancellation. Yet still waiting on responses regarding our poor quality items delivered that we contacted them about several times. Taking our business elsewhere where we are appreciated and don't have issues with deliveries. read more

There's so much to choose from that i don't know where to begin. I really liked the bottles the olive oil came in. Unfortunately, i was in a rush and didnt have much time to properly snoop around their tasting room so I will have to go back and taste again. There are two locations for tasting their olive oils one is across from one of my current favorite wineries off vineyard drive and one in down town paso robles. We visited in July and were met with more attention than you get at some restaurants! Our oil expert took us through so many different oils, dips, and vinegars that we were almost too full for a meal. Very tasty bread is provided as well. It's a welcoming environment with lots of little accoutrements to buy along their main oil offerings. We ended up purchasing the basil olive oil and it truly has an amazing flavor drizzled on soups, for roasting bread, and for salad dressing. We discovered the spot by accident, while wandering around downtown. They had these little samples of chocolate brownies that we tried, which were amazing! They had a little bit of a tangerine hint to them. We asked about it, and they told us that they Had used their tangerine olive oil in place of vegetable oil for the brownies. We were hooked! My wife is an excellent baker, and very often she will use their tangerine olive oil in various chocolate concoctions with amazing results. We have also purchased other oils from them, with garlic and rosemary being two of our favorites. Lots of great vinegars to sample as well. Delicious olive oils and their pairings are great as they pair the oils with various vinegar and salts to taste. They even have a variety of mustards as well. Convenient location in downtown in case you don't want to drive to the ranch and the tastings are free. The olive oil is pricey and I wish they sold them in smaller bottles but they are of very high quality. Ended up getting the garlic lemon olive oil and their new sweet habanero vinegar - it's not super spicy at all and had a nice combination of sweet and spiciness which was very tasty! Paso is not only famous for their wine but also for their oil oil. This past Saturday (5/5) they had an olive oil festival which we attended as well. We visited the store on Friday when we were taking it easy from our wine tasting. They had a lot of interesting merchandise related to olive oil and olive trees. We tasted a tangerine infused olive oil that was outrageously good, but a little bit more than I thought would be a good price at $42.00 for a bottle (I found later that was actually not bad) given the quality I think we should have bought it, but next time I guess. I am very frustrated with Pasolivo. They do not answer their phones or respond to emails. I love their products and joined their club but it is impossible to make adjustments in my Club order. I even logged into my Club account to make changes. I received the order today, after many unanswered phone calls, voicemails, and emails to make adjustments in the order. I love me some quality olive oil and this place has plenty of it! A few friends and myself were in Paso Robles for a few days and decided to work in some Olive Oil tasting while in town. So glad we made it to this place. The gal that was working was super knowledgeable and took her time to explain all the oils and answer our questions. We did a tasting in which we were provided bread and water along with 6-8 tastings of their oils and some vinegar. We all ended up purchasing some oil and vinegar. After calling their club membership number and leaving 3 messages that were never returned, I finally spoke a person on the phone in their downtown storefront.
