This is our usual dollar tree since it's closest to home but today the manager just rubbed me the wrong way, I've never had an issue using the restroom there for my toddler and had never been turned down, but today as we had just started looking for the things I had gone in for my son told me had to use the restroom to which we then started walking towards the back where there was an employee and I asked her if she could unlock it for me to which she responded "i don't know if they are letting people use the bathroom you have to ask at the front" and so I'm rushing with my toddler to the front and I ask the cashier to which he responds " I don't know if you can let me as the manager" and had to call the manager up to the front, once I was able to speak to him I tell him my son needs to use the restroom to which he replied "oh it's out of service" . If you're gonna lie about things like this At least make sure your employees are in on it, because why did I have to speak to multiple people just to hear no. When I could have just left after the first girl I talked to. And like mentioned i go to this store often and never had an issue with the restroom and everyone is so nice but after today's interaction i will not be going back. I was so frustrated having to rush to another store to use the restroom for my toddler who had to wait several more minutes instead of someone just saying no from the beginning. I ended having to purchase what I had originally gone in for else where. (Also just want to add I would only use the restroom there if we were shopping there we wouldn't just go in there for only the restroom) read more

Wowsa! I wish I lived out here, I can not believe how much stuff this one had! Granted the Seasonal decorations were very limited but it's not their fault it's the same excuse every where else, backlogs & not enough workers & that whole thing- yup tripledemic, twindemic or ongoingdemic, honestly whatever stupid catch phrase it's under right now, w/no endemic in sight sadly. (Yes that was pun). Well sadly there weren't a lot of Valentines stuff....yet maybe there somewhere?? But everything else was well stocked. Nice wide aisles with no clutter. You just cannot go wrong in this store. Everything still $1. Nothing has gone up. Greetings cards are 2 for $1. Why would I pay more elsewhere. I save so much here and their competition. Canned goods, pasta, side dishes, albacore tuna, breads, t.p., paper towels, small but good refrigerated and frozen foods, potato chips, pet treats, etc. Spring has sprung. Great items for gardening and planting. Could practically work there, know where just about everything is. read more

Been a while since I have been here. Didnt find what I was looking for but forget sometimes what they do have. Wrapping paper for christmas presents, soap for dishes, batteries. Lots of cool odds and ends. There was one worker who asked how I was doing. That was nice. Who dont get that at high priced stores sometimes. These ladies are always super nice and help people find things and do their best to keep the store up despite a tornado of customer activity. Great finds exist here- many items are cheap Dollar store items but many of the cleaners are top notch as are the medicines and the t shirts can be awesome and good quality like heavyweight or the silky polyester ones. Super affordable to make first aid kits etc and find craft supplies etc etc. It's a fun store! read more

This store is worth my drive from the south end of town to the north. I like how everything in this store is actually a dollar or less. The store is always neat and organized and well stocked. The customer service is superb, being greeted upon entering, said 'Hi' to in the aisles as the employees stock the shelves, and having a friendly interaction as I'm checking out. They have been getting a better selection of refrigerated/frozen foods as of late. I have also been able to snag some really cool toy deals here (Disney Tsum Tsums, Hot Wheels cars) lately... which keeps me coming back in to see what deals I might find. :) read more

The Dollar Tree Store is my place to go for a few things but cheater reading glasses are my main draw!!!! I'm not sure if I have brought it on myself by not taking care of my eyes professionally or what but though I can see far away... I need 350 to read and so when I know they have a delivery and I need those glasses, I try to get there as soon after the truck leaves as I can because I know they have more of a surplus of 100s and 150s but the higher number readers are harder to find. So if you follow my reviews... you know that I am... ALL ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you are great!!! I will sing an opera about you!!! I went to the Paso Robles store and I guess I was there just as the truck had pulled in and no one acted like they really wanted to go out of their way to find the glasses box even though I had made a special trip out of my way ~ it wasn't their fault that I had to rush off to go to work and didn't have time to wait. Soooo on Saturday after work I bypassed the Paso Robles store and decided to go to the Atascadero one. They always seem to go above and beyond where customer service is concerned and I was not disappointed! At first I did ask one employee and he said that what was out was out and there was only one kind of funky looking 350 pair but I took it thinking well I guess I will have to go try the Paso store. But as I went through the line the girl checking me out (I think her name was Jennifer at least that's what it said on the reciept) said "Oh wait a minute and took a few minutes pulling out several boxes for me. She could have told me what was out was all they had but she understands customer service and I have a feeling that someone is going to see that and offer her a job! I know I would want someone like her working for me! ***** FIVE STARS for Jennifer!!! Four stars just cuzzzz it is is the Dollar Tree and I mean whoever heard of a five star dollar store? Yep there may be some cheap stuff, ok, but look at all the bargains especially in home cleaning items, cards, snack food, kitchen items, and more. Above average? Yes. Putting the concept of the store in context of the review, we cannot expect a dollar store to have freshly shampooed carpeting, sparkling displays, and fully stocked shelves. But what they do have is consistenl product that is, for the most part, worth the price. The store is laid out well. The shelves are fairly full. Plenty of variety. Staple products like party supplies, cleaning supplies, etc... are consistent. Seasonal stock comes in early, and in volume. So you can also always find items for Halloween, 4th of July and what not. A review would not be complete without mentioning staff, or customer service. The Dollar Tree staff is polite, courteous, and available. I've seen many customers in the Dollar Tree who expect a lot more, and can be difficult. These customers are always treated better than they deserve. So kudos to employees. So what could they do to earn a 5-star rating? Well, they could be the best of the dollar stores. A bit cleaner, a bit brighter, a bit more customer service. I read all the other reviews and I did notice that they are older. Not sure if you have been in there in past few months or not but customer service- needs a lot of work! Sometimes I walk in and a cashier will greet me and lately they are talking or back turned to the door. What angered me and I will not be returning is the fact that I was in there to buy my batteries and some birthday decorations and I was in line and after the woman in front of me who was nothing but nice to the cashier- the cashier was talking poorly of her and when she began ringing up my belongings without so much as a high or how are you I asked her how her day was and she just looked at me and said okay I guess. I told her that it must be bad to talk so badly about a paying customer in front of a paying customer. She ignored me. I asked her before handing her my money if she knew the lady in front of me and she said "no not really she just made me mad". Wow. I thought about not paying but I did. I did not get a receipt either so I did not get her name. She was blonde but clearly dyed hair as she had dark roots, a little thick but not overweight per say and wore a lot of make up in my opinion. I refuse to go back and just go to the one down street from my house now here in SLO. If I had a name I would have called the manager to complain. Clearly he or she must know what negativity this employee displays. I am glad that others have, in the past, had great experiences. I, for one, have not. read more

Wow...where can you go anymore that the staff greets you at the door? Well you can go to Dollar Tree Store and you will get just that! Its nice to be acknowledged! And they actually mean it! The store is clean and things are easy to find. They are.pet friendly too, unlike the 99,cent store who are rude from the get go. The quality of their products and the inventory is impeccable.
