We love this thrift store! My family and I come here often. We especially love the $5 bag sale outside. You get to fill a bag with clothes/shoes for $5. We've been able to find many name brands and stuff for the whole family. And the staff are great - they are super kind to our kids, who love to shop around with the little carts. My kids both found some items they loved! One of them found cute crafting accessories for her journaling and the other found a pretty rare album poster. The only thing I would say negative is their prices are a bit too high. The album poster was very expensive and in "ok, not good condition".... The toys section is very overpriced. There's a much better priced store down the road, but I think this being in the heart of downtown is why they upcharge. Will probably give it another try, but just know it's more boutique priced than thrift store priced. read more

This was a welcome find in Atascadero. We were having lunch across the street and noticed this place and it looked like they had a lot. We walked across the street and our 2 year old immediately took a liking to the place as they have a children's shopping cart. The store is really well organized and the staff was really friendly. I love that they give back to different local charities as well. We had a great visit and picked up some of my daughters favorite "new" clothes here. I personally wish the men's section was bigger, but for my family this was a great spot to visit and get some good merchandise. read more

I have been going to this thrift store for years, but never have I been treated as rudely as I was treated today by the two older women that were working there. I was browsing around for over an hour, setting aside items that I was going to purchase up by the register. Before checking out, I mentioned to my friend that I wanted to have a quick look at the boots (for a Halloween costume idea). At that time, one lady told me (she didn't politely ask... she artlessly told me ) to leave my purse up front with her if I was going to go to any other parts of the store. I was astonished. I looked around. There were two other middle-aged, Caucasian ladies (I am younger and mix raced) with purses twice as big as mine, that she never told them they'd need to leave their purses with her while shopping. She said that I could take my wallet with me, but my purse needed to stay with her. Strange?!? ... she clearly didn't trust me (and my 11inch purse), but I am supposed to just trust her and her snickering accomplice, who kept sneaking around, wrecklessly eyeballing me the entire time I was shopping... because they were afraid that I was going to steal their DONATED items?! I think I was more hurt than offended - I have never in my life stolen anything from any body or any store, anywhere. I very politely told her that MY purse stays with ME at all times and it is unfortunate that she is being so discriminately rude, because she just lost a good customer. What is our county coming to?!?... it is sad, really. read more

Kristine was very nice and helpful and so was the other lady. They have decent prices, not crazy prices like goodwill. Some stuff is priced at around eBay prices but others are good deals. Fair prices for the most part and good finds if you're looking for vintage of special stuff but you might not be impressed if you're just needing to fill in your wardrobe on the cheap on a budget. Some things seem pricey, but then I'm not one to think a plain used t-shirt should be $3+ when you can find one on sale for less new sometimesf you're on a tight budget. Thankfully I'm not anymore. Other things are a great deal and overall more likely to find some bargains than at say Goodwill. I'm more likely to be looking for a nice quilt, craft stuff, or vintage stuff, so I enjoy it and they do a lot of good with their donations so I donate my unwanted stuff here. Loved this little gem of a place. Stopped in with m6y 9 week old so. to stock up on nursing friendly tops. All the staff were incredibly helpful and sweet. The prices were great! Found some things on the $2 rack , they have sales on different color tags. The dresses were on sale buy one get one free! I found some really great things. 1-11-17 IM NOT EMILY !!! I thought I would check this one out during my lunch break. Go to the supply section way in the back and see that they have labels for ink jet. Well I NEVER expect to get a full package of labels and maybe some sheets have a couple missing from the previous person trying out the labels and they just don't work with what they are trying to do. So when I got back to the office to try the labels I just purchased, I was more then just disappointed that EVERY SINGLE label was already printed on with some couples names and address, leaving the labels completely worthless and USELESS to me since my name is NOT Emily and I don't know anybody named Chad. THANKS for nothing on that note can't imagine I will ever go back to this place. read more

Sadly, I wasn't very impressed with this store. A number of the items being sold looked too worn to be charged for, and their layout wasn't as organized as I prefer. There were some good deals, but overall, not my favorite thrift store. read more

Love this place. We always find treasure. It's also nice to say yes to the kids, for a change, when they find a toy they want. I also appreciate their button system. For every $5 you spend you can put a button in the jar of one of the many charities they donate a portion of their proceeds to. And the service is always supper friendly. read more

This thrift store has great deals and there are new-used items brought in every day. The staff is friendly and helpful.

My husband and I like to browse through this thrift store. The employees are friendly and we feel comfortable in the shop. It's especially good for female browsers because you progress from children's clothes and toys to housewares and gifts to office supplies and then the craft room, which is a nice touch and makes the store stand out from other thrift stores, as does the ability to donate (represented by clothing buttons they give you at the register) to a charity you choose from the ones they display. There is a small book room, a section off to the side for deep discounts (it's hard for me to find anything out there though among all the VHS), collectible-type things up front in the area around the register, and of course clothes, shoes, and purses/bags. My husband and I don't browse clothes at thrift stores because we never find anything for us, but I do admire how they've set aside larger sizes and vintage/unusual styles on their own racks. You can really tell the business owner is serious about this place and invested in making it all it can be. I appreciate that. read more

Gatherings Thrift is the biggest little thrift store on the Central Coast. It is has great people working there that are very helpful and friendly. It has a huge selection of....everything. But, If there is something you are looking for and can't find it, they have a wishlist and will call you when it comes in! There is a whole craft room with tons of scrapbooking, sewing, drawing, general crafting supplies, book room, "man town" where you can find sporting supplies, around the home fix it stuff and lighting supplies, lamps, stereos, car, and camping stuff. They have alot of housewares lots of antique stuff too. It just seems to be bursting at the seams with good stuff. I recommend you do not pass this one up! It's between Traffic Way and the Police Station in Atas. There is a great coffeeshop name "Bru" just south of it and then a great consignment shop to the south, across from a center with lots of eateries. Check it out! read more
