Just attempted to order from this location. Placed the order for 3 lunch special items. He gave me the total and I questioned him on the price due to it not matching up with the menu price. I was then hung up on. When I called back, the employee insisted that I hung up on him even though I was speaking to him via speaker phone. I've ordered from this place for more than 15 years and never had a problem. In this day and age reviews seem to have more of an impact than an in person complaint. Therefore, as of today. I am disappointed and out of $40 for an undercooked and under-flavored order with below average customer service. I ordered a large veggie rice, large shrimp fried rice and 6 chicken wings. I expected freshly cut vegetables (stalks of broccoli, cut tri color bell peppers and fresh cut onions). Instead they gave me fried rice with small cut carrots. I also expected the rice to be flavorful. Instead the rice was bland. The bite sized salad shrimp were deveined. I expected the chicken wings to be cooked to the proper temperature. Instead when I broke the wings apart, there was still blood at the joints. After recooking them in my air fryer for an extra 12 minutes, I didn't desire them anymore. However I've never used them for dining at the location. Their service is efficient and professional. Not all that friendly but not rude either, just efficient. I DO love their food. It's usually quickly cooked and prepared. They're mostly clean. I've never had a problem with them as far as cleanliness. I love their Chicken & or Beef Fried Rice. I usually get a side of Lobster Sauce or I'll request additional Sweet and Sour sauce. I also love their Foo Young selections. You can add an egg for an extra cost. The egg rolls are prepped for you/me fresh. I also enjoy their BBQ selection occasionally. I love their. Crab Rangoon. The parking can be a challenge there's a laundry room next door so people are washing clothes sometimes when I am in the area. It's usually not a big problem. We went to grab a quick bite at the See Thru in my new neighborhood. I used to go to the one on Cottage Grove. I paid and have a practice of checking my receipt to see if I was charged the correct tax. Sure enough, the tax was way higher than it should have been.(10.25%) I told the gentleman at the register and calculated the tax again in front of him. He kept saying he didn't know what the tax should be and to talk to the boss. I just wanted him to refund the difference. He cops an attitude so I leave. I have been noticing the last few years that fast food joints and some sit down places constantly charge too much tax. Some areas in Chicago can charge extra, not Beverly though. The parking lot is a hassle. The older lady behind the counter is gruff, and could care less if you live or die. But, you know what? My order has always been correct, the food what I was looking for, and you get a ton for your money. Also, NO intestinal distress, later. I've only been a few times, for lunch. Things may change, but they're getting my money for now. It IS the best Chinese in the area, and I'm sad it took me so long to get there. Just don't expect more than it is. She never washed her hands just claims she used germ-x hand sanitizer. When asked that she not do my order she got very cocky and we ended up in an argument where I demanded my money back.
