I rarely write reviews but this business deserves extra high praise. My wife and me checked in to our storage about 15 minutes before the storage office closed on a Saturday evening. Upon checking in I realized my extra large sofa was going to be difficult to move with just me and my wife. I was tired and desperate for help after a long day of moving. I called the office and both managers, Rachel and Tatiana came down to help us move the sofa in. They both stayed after hours to help us move a very heavy sofa. The level of service they both showed was truly incredible. I am very happy with the unit and the great rate. Wonderful service! Very clean! read more

I started renting this 20 x 20 rental unit and 2011 after a divorce. Unpleasant to begin with, but the storage experience would get much more so. On a positive note Rob and Mary are very helpful and pleasant. But the objective of the storage unit is to store your things safely that you deem valuable enough to be stored. Security public storage fell woefully short. I moved out of my storage unit and only completed the cleanup a few days ago. Pleasantness of the staff doesn't overcome the fact that we did not get what we paid for. Mine was a 20x20 unit accessible from the outdoors so a little moisture under the door would be understandable. An expensive desk and credenza were soaked on one side each and turned black with mold. When I removed all of my things I could see that the water had run all the way to the back and side walls (of a 20x20 unit!) - Obviously not designed to keep water out or your valuables safe. Also, rats had their way with many of my things. Destroying entire boxes of items, hoses, etc by their chewing - and urinating and defecating on EVERYTHING!! Rat crap and urine covered my dining room chair cushions. I understand that rats get into things but it was obvious that they have NO pest control program. I have many pictures which I'll try to post. Also destroyed by water: Three large area rugs, about 100 classic record albums the Beatles , Elvis, The Four Seasons, many more, my fathers elementary school books I had kept, much more. The kicker to all of this is that as I'm sweeping it out I realize that I'm cleaning up my destroyed things that I stored in there, and their rat feces. I paid a little less than $400 a month for storage all this time and this is the care that was provided by the storage unit. For more fun I was paying insurance the entire time. I called insurance last Monday, nine days ago, and I have not heard back from them. I sent a note to the storage facility last Friday saying that I hadn't heard from the insurance all week. They wrote back and assured me that they are usually very responsive and they would contact the insurance company on Monday. I call Tuesday, and was told that they weren't there yesterday so they contacted them insurance that day. The storage folks said that insurance would call me. I haven't heard a word - the insurance is worthless. This is one of the worst experiences I've ever reported on yelp and if I could take points away from the people who gave better reviews I would do so. Summary: No pest-control applied at this place. The floors are designed obviously to run toward your valuables as opposed to stay by the door or outside entirely. The insurance is worthless. This was my first use of the storage facility, it will be my last. If I can't store things in the place I trust what's the point of paying the money? You might as well just throw everything away beforehand. read more

I just saw that I had a response from someone from the Security Public Storage facility in Pittsburg, CA. Sr. I can't believe that you bothered responding to my post. You can't argue with me about something that I went through. Then you want to say you raised the rent every 7 months like that's any better....Instead of apologizing for the poor customer service I received, you want to argue about some payments. I sure wish I would have saved the pictures of my move out date to show the people how you all have rats in your storage units. And how they ate through my sofas. And how there was rat droppings everywhere. I went to the front office to bring it to the staffs attention and she said that it was a known issue. She also mentioned that Mary and her husband I believe his name was rob got fired from this storage company because they knew of the issue and didn't take care of the problem. So a lot of my stuff got destroyed. Do you think Security Public Storage tried to take care of the problem? No. They didn't even have the decency to send an apology letter. Today I had the pleasure of meeting the facility managers, Tatiana and Rachel. They were kind, accommodating and efficient in helping me with a somewhat unique situation. It is evident that they are proud of the improvements they've made in the security and physical appearance of the property. Their commitment to customer service is illustrated by their days and hours of operation which are in line with customer needs. Office hours are 9am-6pm Mon thru Sat, 10am-4pm Sun and access is 6pm-10pm daily. This is in sharp contrast to the trend at most facilities where they are now keeping "banker hours" (e.g., 10am-4pm Mon thru Sat and closed on Sundays and holidays). I know of one facility where access is by appointment only and limited to 15 minutes per appointment! I am glad that I met these two very real people who obviously love their jobs and take pride in their work. I also love the red garage doors! read more

DO NOT RENT HERE!! If I could give this place less than 1 star, I would. We rented storage for 5 months, May to October 2015. Everything we had went into it, including our appliances. From the beginning, we didn't have renter's insurance and were told that we had to have it, so unless we did our own, we'd have to pay extra each month to carry theirs. So we paid the extra each month. We never given a copy of the policy that we were paying for, nor who the insurance was through. It was tacked on to our month rent. Before we moved in, I asked about critters and rodents. Rob ASSURED me that they had no such issues, as someone from pest control came out monthly and same for any rodents. He ASSURED me that they kept a clean facility and there were no issues. SPS wasn't my first choice, Acorn Storage was as I had used them before, but they had no availability at the time and we needed to move, so we went with SPS. Ugh. Over the 5 months, my husband and I were both in an out of the storage, but only in the front, of course, not going all the way through it, to get what we needed. Around the 3rd or 4th month, I noticed some red plastic "crumbs" so to speak and I checked the container they may have been from. I couldn't see where the damage may have been from and dismissed it, thinking it was just me. When we moved out in October, I did a visual on all that I could, until we got to the big appliances, which I let my husband and the movers load up. I went ahead to our new place to unlock everything and open everything up for the movers. My husband called me and told me that there was extensive damage to our refrigerator's water lines and that there might also be damage to the washer and dryer. I told him to bring it all, as there was nothing to be done, but to take pictures of what he could. I asked what it looked the damage was and he said mice or rats. Once I saw the damage myself, there was no doubt about it. I took pictures of the refrigerator, washer and dryer. The evidence was clearer in the washer, as there were mice droppings and urine in the tub. They'd chewed through the water line of the refrigerator and completely shredded it. They'd chewed on the the hoses for the washer and even the power cord for the dryer. I took pictures of it all and the next day, i went to SPS. I showed Rob the damage, who apologized and encouraged me to file a claim with insurance company. He then gave me the information so that I could do so. I filed the claim with Bader, sent them my pictures, gave them the information they needed, only to be denied. The insurance that SPS insists that you take, does not cover any damage done by birds or vermin, including rodents or roaches. To say that I was furious is putting it mildly. We were out of an $1100 refrigerator and our washer and dryer, at least another $1000! We ended up having to replace it all, as they are appliances that we need, however, I'm not done trying to find a way to re-coup our losses. $2000 is nothing to sneeze at. I say again, DO NOT RENT HERE!! read more

This place has definitely made my move easy. They offer free use of truck for move-ins. I wish the same was offered for moving out. The special reduced rates are good if you plan to stay a short time. Caution be careful with this. I ended up staying past 3 months footing twice the original price. Great place for storing your personal belongings with great customer service and very easy to obtain a unit online without any complications. The cost is a bit in the higher range, but its worth it to have your things secured with 24 hr surveillance by the managers living on the property. Obtained 10x10 unit with climate control for one bedroom apartment, which provides plenty of space and more some. Very glad to decide to go with Security Public storage compared to other public storage facilities, which had bad and mediocre reviews. read more

Security Public Storage is a great place to store our personal items. It is conveniently located at 521 Harbor Ct, Pittsburg. The customer service is great. They are friendly and helpful. They have a truck on-site & available for local use. They also have the dollies and the hand trucks and other moving supplies on-site too. It is slightly higher than other places around but I like that it is well maintained and air-conditioned and clean. read more

I have never used a storage unit before. I looked at Security's competitors and they were OUT OF THEIR MINDS for a few reasons. I came here and it was clean, friendly and the prices were better than other places. The young lady at the front desk was so nice and very helpful. She even took me down to my unit and showed me where it was, how to lock it properly etc. I expect good customer service as we all pay good money for things and I got it for sure here! I was very impressed and that is hard to do with me. An extra bonus for me is that Security is near my home. Absolutely everything was explained to me and my questions were happily answered.
