We had a great overall experience with Arthur and crew. Our project was pretty big - a full remodel of two bathrooms - and it went well. We worked with two other contractors (who Arthur and crew collaborate with) to get our countertops and glass done as well. Each had a smooth experience with a great outcome. From the get-go, Arthur was very communicative and that never stopped throughout the process. As is always the case with ambitious projects, there are a lot of things to cover, lots pf things to buy, things can go wrong when nobody predicts to, and snap decisions need to be made for work to continue. Throughout the whole process, Arthur and crew communicated effectively and often, helped us arrive at some decision with their own opinions, and overall made us feel like we were in control of our bathrooms while also helping us with each decision. Additionally, Arthur and crew were very clean and minimized noise as much as they could. They kept dust and debris down, vacuumed and swept up each day, and were considerate of the fact that there were two other humans working from home while they were doing their work. If I could give Arthur's team 10 stars, I would. To provide some context, I was looking to renovate both of my bathrooms during the fall and had just completed the renovations of the smaller bathroom. I was extremely unhappy with the first part of the renovations and decided to move onto a new contractor for the second bathroom. I found Arthurs team through Facebook Marketplace. Finding good contractors are very hard. I found out that portfolios are really not great venues of finding a good contractor. It is important to speak with them, and bounce ideas off of each other to gauge whether they really care about customer satisfaction. After speaking with Arthur for 10 minutes, I realized how professional he was compared to my previous contractor. Although he is young, Arthur takes time to address any concerns and goes the extra mile for you. I had concerns about leaks, and Arthur took the time to go through the entire process with me. I have never had a better experience working with someone than Arthur. 1) Arthur is very communicative. We spoke extensively about his schedule, how big his team would be for each part of the renovation and the timeline. Everything he presented to me came from a clear thought process, and any concerns I had were taken seriously. He clearly stated on when he could start the job, and his estimations of the job. Usually with contracting, you always expect delays but with Arthur and his team were able to BEAT the original estimate by three days. I was extremely impressed. 2) Arthur is VERY detail oriented. For the second bathroom, I wanted to go with a more intricate double-herringbone design. I could have NOT been more pleased with the outcome. Arthur worked to plan out every single tile in that bathroom and went through the entire layout with me to make sure I was happy. The most beautiful parts were definitely the niche, where he worked with me to plan out how it would be done before execution. 3) Arthur is very accommodating. As renovations are in progress, often times there are on the fly changes that need to be made by the owner. Arthur was able to work around MY schedule as we ordered new tiles or drains while maintaining the same schedule. Midway through the renovations, I literally asked Arthur and his team to take out a wall. He quickly came back with a reasonable adjustment and executed to perfection while maintaining the SAME schedule. There was NEVER a complaint about it taking too long, or having to adjust. He just wanted me to be happy with the end result. 4) Arthur goes ABOVE and beyond. Even after the renovations were done. He went above and beyond and contacted contractors to help install the shower doors! Who friggen does that?! I have never witnessed anyone so obsessed about customer satisfaction. Anyone who gets a chance to work with Arthur, please give him a chance. I promise you that you will NOT be disappointed. On another note, my downstairs neighbors were looking to renovate their bathrooms as well, and they were able to see the work on on mine and have already booked him for their own renovations. On time, on schedule, on budget, and the results are exceptional. Once you have worked with Arthur and crew, you will be spoiled for life. Arthur was transparent about how far out scheduling would be, and prompt to give us an estimate. Estimates are someplace I am very picky - this one was well-written and captured all the details discussed. It really highlighted one of SFC's greatest strengths - really, really good communication. We have remodeled 4 homes now, and this is the number one area where most companies fall short. Communication stayed good throughout the entire project. Arthur is one of the best listeners I've ever worked with, he asks excellent questions, and explains things well. Work started on schedule, the crew was very hard working. There was a text each morning letting me know when to expect them. The surfaces were protected, the job site left tidy every day. Where do I even begin to rave about the layout of the tile? We were looking to rebuild one shower, and the wall around our fireplace. In each case, the tiles chosen had a lot of variation. I have never had a crew so particular (in a good way!) about making sure the layout was pleasing and that nothing ended in an odd size, the finished edges looked immaculate, and there was the exact right amount of regularity and randomness. Ex: we opted for a stone floor in the shower, and Arthur placed each one by hand where most companies would slap down some mesh squares and call it good. The results would be fine, but your eye will still see the lines between where each square adjoins. This floor is perfect - that's indicative of the level of detail taken in layout for everything. For the fireplace, every tile was/is unique with an irregular surface, and there are some lovely subtle patterns of height and color that were worked into the overall layout. This crew really goes above and beyond, and everyone had such an eye for artistic excellence. The results look like they're straight out of a magazine! As with every job, there were unexpected 'challenges' when walls started opening up. These were handled smoothly, these guys are excellent problem-solvers, and Arthur is pretty unfazable. Once again, great communication and creativity while keeping in the mind the end goal for the overall look and feel. Even after the job was finished, Arthur stayed in contact and coordinated with the shower glass contractors, and made sure everything went well. I've never worked with a company went to those lengths. Arthur's crew is just an awesome as he is, and we felt very comfortable that everything was in good hands. This company really puts a lot of heart into their work and it shows. We have future work coming up that isn't as straightforward as one might wish, and there is no one we would trust more. I know that whatever we run into, this crew can handle it, and the results will be awesome. :-) read more
