We stopped by today (4/9) in a bit of a panic, trying to find a Schluter edge that would match our Arizona Tile Flash install. After having our contractor pull out a glaringly mismatched pure-white trim, we were trying to keep things moving without compromising on the final look. We needed something that worked with our alabaster/ivory tile and Mapei Alabaster grout--and fast. We were immediately and thoroughly helped by the owner, who was not only knowledgeable but incredibly validating. She confirmed my instincts about the white-white trim looking cheap against our tile, even mentioning she doesn't stock it for that exact reason! I had started to feel like I was being too picky or difficult, but she reassured me I wasn't--and that meant a lot. She had multiple alternatives that looked significantly better, and she made a confident, trustworthy recommendation. She knew my tile, was familiar with the grout color, and--miracle of miracles--had exactly what we needed in stock and ready to go. We were bracing ourselves for a big expense, but the price was fair, and the experience was honestly a relief. We found the exact right piece, on the spot, without any drama. Had a great experience here. They have a huge selection of all sorts of tiles. I went in with an overly tired 3 yr old and Heidi helped me find the exact tile I needed quickly. My kiddo got a bit upset at one point and some of the others there brought him fruit snacks and water so i could finish making my selection. There was even a bit of a mixup with the order bc of miscommunication and they fixed it right away (we were able to return and receive a refund for the item). Will return for our next tile project! I was shopping for some kitchen backsplash tiles and had high hopes for Discount Tile Outlet. I spent maybe 15-20 minutes browsing around the store, which isn't huge, but just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything since it's kind of an odd layout. I was also half waiting for a sales associate to free up so I could ask some questions. I saw something similar to what I was looking for, but there's no pricing, so I just wanted to get an idea of the price range for the type of tile I was looking for. We've been to their showroom at least five times over the past two months choosing tile for our custom build home, and they are super helpful, every time. First, this place is far from "discount". Flat pebble shower floor is $17.25 per sqft and backsplashes often run for around $20. That is OK if you want to find better designed tiles than Homedepot and the quality, I'm no expert, I will say is solid, looks good. Second, the staffs have good knowledge for the tiling job and they have a sense of designing. They are friendly and no hard sale. The problem is, this "Premium tile outlet" doe not provide reliable shipping. I'm paying a lot more money for better products and service. They delayed my shipping for a week and shipped one item wrongly. When I called them they had a hard time finding what I bought. The process is a mess. My job plan was changed and wasted a lot of money on tool renting. I will say the money you spend is only partially paid back. Not worthy. read more

I visited this shop prior to gutting and remodeling a condo which used to be a rental. I was moving into it after my divorce. I wanted it to be nice, but I didn't have a ton of cash to drop. So seeking a good deal, and feeling optimistic based on the Yelp reviews and the word "Discount" in the store name, I gave this place a try. I initially talked with Blake who hooked me up with some amazing discounts in their "back room" where they were liquidating really nice tile with low stock, or which had been returned/misordered, etc. He gave me some great prices and a lot of starter ideas. The problem was that Blake never showed up for our next appointment. I would take a star off for his being somewhat flakey, but if he hadn't been, I wouldn't have met MINDY. OMG, she is the owner's wife and she is a rockstar with tile ideas. She took the great discounted tile Blake and I found, and added in a few odds and ends with some bling, and voila! We had the most beautiful designs for an amazingly low price. I am going to include pictures, because what I liked most about her design was the use of small amounts of super pretty/blingy (usually expensive) tile amidst larger quantities of inexpensive tile. But the way she designed it, the bling is what stand out! My bathrooms look like I spent triple what I paid. Part of that is because they referred me to an amazing contractor - Elegant Solutions. I wish they had a yelp listing because I'd give them 5 stars, too. I was able to gut and remodel about 85% of my condo with them for a price I could afford. They helped me think of ways to accomplish gorgeous results with simple (and elegant) solutions. Not only that, but their crew actually cared about the quality of their work. In fact, I'd go so far as to say Fabrizio is a true craftsman with an amazing eye. He does all the tile installs, and a lot of the fine finish work. He made the tile designs Mindy put together come to life! The install makes all the difference, and Discount Tile Outlet hooked me up! Rachel, the supervisor on my job, was a perfectionist with a great eye and an outstanding communicator. After a couple of bumps in the beginning, she did an outstanding job keeping me in the loop about the status of the job. Their company ran into some unexpected issues on other jobs which caused some pretty significant delays in mine, but because the communication was good, and because they worked to make it up to me by doing some extras on my wish list when they could be at my jobsite, it made the delays bearable. The quality of work when they could get a crew to my condo was so high that they were worth the wait. Amazingly, there were only 2 items on my "punch list" at the end of a 3 month job! That was because Rachel was so good at proactively noticing and handling big and little things along the way. I'm super picky and having only 2 items on my punch list was seriously a miracle! They were minor, too. I am very happy with my place, and especially my bathrooms. None of my other experiences with tile shops or their recommended contractors have ever been this positive - and I've done a lot of remodeling in my time as a home and rental property owner. I hope it's a while before I have to do it again, but when I do, I'll seek out Discount Tile Outlet (Mindy, in particular), as well as their friends at Elegant Solutions. Thanks guys! It is clean, neat, and they have a great selection here. My husband and I had no idea what we were looking for, but Blake helped us out. Can't say enough good things about my experience with discount tile outlet. I brought my baby boy in to shop around for tile and several workers were personable in their interactions with him and very helpful to me as well. I worked with Mindy - owner - and she ended up giving me her cell number and told me to call or text if I had any questions. I was in a bit of a bind because our contractor's business informed us they were closing just before our project got legs and we needed material quick for our tile guy. Mindy was highly receptive and communicative in getting me answers and options for a small project (bathroom) in the grand scheme of things to what I'd assume they usually do. During the holiday season, Mindy and her staff went above and beyond to help my family out and I'm forever grateful. I just purchased a new home and the lower level has hardwoods and carpet. I have dogs and a huge saltwater aquarium, so I've decided to go with nice tile flooring. I'm also remodeling all 3 bathrooms and the kitchen, so I'm looking for tile for those as well. I looked up tile stores and decided to go check out Discount Tile Outlet because it has such great reviews on Yelp. When I arrived, the place was undoubtedly busy, but I was a little surprised that no one even said, "Welcome" or "We'll be with you in a minute". I started looking around and was pulling samples so I could look at colors, textures, etc. Ten plus minutes later, still not a word from anyone. A few customers got done at the same time and employees were freed up. I was still standing in the middle of the room, doing my own thing, and not a word. A well-dressed couple came in and immediately someone walked over and asked them if they could help them. As someone else came into the store, an employee looked right at me and although I started to tell them I had questions about tile they literally walked right past me without a word and greeted the people that had just walked in. So why didn't anyone pay a bit of attention to me? I guess because I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt and I have tattoos. Funny thing is, I also came with money in my pocket that I was ready to spend. A fair bit of money in fact. So this "to be ignored" tattooed, jeans and t-shirt wearing woman headed out the door after spending 20 minutes in your store without a single word being said to me. I went to a competitor in town where I was promptly helped. I don't know if what I'm paying is more than what Discount Tile Outlet would've charged, but I don't care. Called in to find a picture online to look at a tile they carried. Nothing special- just trying to find a picture of the tile to know what the contractor was talking about with his side note of the tile. The sales woman came off defensive, put me on hold, and came back saying that it's an exclusive tile that they only carry. She then said I could come in to look at the tile even though she was aware I wasn't anywhere near Bellevue. I told her I cannot come in and asked again if I could have the manufacturer's name to look at it online, and she said, very rudely, she couldn't help me. I said ok, and she hung up without even trying to save me from coming in or saying bye. You want me to come in after all that? Yeah right. Poor phone communication. Just because I'm behind a phone, doesn't mean she had the right to talk to me in that tone. Would not recommend. read more

I wish I wold have never purchased from this store. Originally came in here on a Saturday and this place was packed, they had a decent selection but they didn't have names or prices on them, we had just come from Custom Touch and appreciated this organization especially since this store was so busy. We ended up finding one we liked and were quoted $8/sqft. He didn't look it up but said it was super popular and knew the price. A few days later I came back to place my order when Laird threw in the preferred employer discount then UPCHARGED the price of the tile. I figured the discount must have been minuscule considering the total was the same as calculated before being offered a discount. I didn't look at the receipt again until that night and emailed the store. We purchased the Waterfall porcelain tile which under that name only comes up as being manufactured by Olympia Stone & Tile, a Canadian company only to find when my fiance picked it up - nearly a week after they promised it would arrive - it was from a Chinese manufacturer. I emailed Laird twice after the purchase with no response. Not sure what kind of business their running here but I have never dealt with such a misleading, unresponsive, dishonest place in my life. read more

For a place with the word "Discount" in its title, it is the furthest thing from a discount. We were looking for some tile for our backsplash and some stacked stone for our fireplace. We went late on Sunday and they were about to close. Don't get me wrong - the place has an incredible selection. We quickly found what we were after and left our contact information with the sales rep to get a quote on pricing for the items we liked. You might call me cheap, but I just think $36.99 per square foot for backsplash tile is simply INSANE! The lady wouldn't stop calling us for weeks to follow up and make sure we get things ordered in time to complete our project! Seriously, would you pay $2,000 for 50 sq feet of backsplash? Even after letting them know what we were looking for (specific design) they were trying to convince is to do other things instead - that in my designer opinion would not look good at all. Last straw was when we got a price on a tile that we had seen at both big box stores and online and Discount Tiles prices were outrageous. Although their name is "Discount Tile" it was far from discount, they were literally charging Twice the cost as we found the exact stone/tile elsewhere. I have worked with DTO for almost 5 years and Blake is definitely my go to favorite. The entire staff is knowledgeable, but he knows this business inside and out. They are also a service oriented small business and genuinely value their customers. They also offer a ton of design services, something most retailers are inept at doing. The store is definitely busy on the weekends, so if you are looking for one of their salespeople to work with you on design or spend lots of time with you, the weekdays are the best times to get that service. I will say, they always put the customers needs first, whether it is to get you your tile in on time, to price match or to make sure you are completely happy with your order. Blake always goes above and beyond to make sure my orders are done right and I know I am getting the best pricing available. read more

My wife and I looked at several small tile stores and the usual big box stores for our kids' bathroom remodel. We ended up at Discount Tile Outlet where we received very good help from a saleswoman. Ultimately, Laird (one of the owners) came over to help us. He spent well over an hour advising us on materials, design and layout. He gave us samples to take home so we could see how everything looked. We needed a lot of educating and Laird was very patient with us. There was no pressure at all and he offered us a variety of choices to fit different price points. We ended up choosing tile that was more expensive than we had originally budgeted (travertine floors, porcelain wall tile with marble accent tiles), though it was worth it. Laird worked with us on the price and also matched the price of the big box store on one item that we could get online. Their prices are very reasonable. And the service is impeccable. They definitely take care of their customers. They got our tile in fast and had all the grout we need in stock. Today, the final tiles were set by our tile guy and it looks amazing. All that is left is for the grout. work to be done. We can't wait to start using our beautiful new shower. I will definitely go back there when we redo our master bath. read more

We came into Discount Tile to get tile for our fireplace and fireplace hearth. The store was incredibly busy, with salespeople running all over the place. We managed to snag someone to ask them about the tile we had picked out and were given the prices for each. Once we got to the front, however, we were told that one of the tiles we had picked was actually different and more expensive than the one that was originally quoted. They grabbed the other tile from the warehouse, which was (admittedly) pretty similar, but definitely a different tone and slightly different pattern than we wanted. The other tile we had picked out was a herringbone mosaic tile. Since we were planning to do the job ourselves, we wanted to know how easy it was to cut this tile with the wet saw we purchased for the job. We were told not to worry about it / that it would be no problem. Our initial attempt to cut the tile with the wet saw ended up ruining the tile as the adhesive on the back was ruined by the water. We called Discount Tile to understand what we did wrong, and were told that someone would call us back within the hour. 3 hours later, they were closed and no one had returned our call. We called Home Depot to get some advice on cutting the tile, and were told to try taping the entire tile down except for the place we were cutting. We tried that and pretty much ruined another sheet, as the cut was not clean and pieces chipped off of the edge. At this point we decided to hire a contractor (obviously not planned for in the budget) to do the job. As I reached out to different contractors, I got the same universal response: "Oh the dreaded herringbone mosaic tile!". So there is apparently a reputation with that tile that would have been nice to know about before my wife got her heart set on it. Our contractor was able to complete the job with his tools and it looks great now. I'm still very unhappy with the whole process, but am upping the rating to two stars, since Blake did take the time to get 2 replacement tiles for us to finish the job. Would have been nice to have the cost of the contractor subsidized (since we felt misled) but was told that wasn't an option. I am not likely to buy tile here again, as Home Depot's tile sells for about half the price, and Lowes will even cut the tile for you if you buy it there. read more

When my husband d called there was no apology just "someone made a mistake and we are working on it" after a whole week, nothing! No refund!
