Responsive, great expertise, honest and straight-forward, and they met every promise. Adrian carefully demo'd the problem area, ground out the old Quickset to perfectly flat, then re-tiled the area with some spare material we had. He custom-mixed an epoxy grout color to match our existing tile work, and he was able to complete the repair well within his estimate and discounted the difference! Updated May 2020 to address new issues that have arisen since install. First Choice recently helped us out with two bathroom projects. The first was a demo and replacement of an existing bathroom floor. The second was a deep clean of a shower stall. Pros: - Super responsive to request for quote - Quick to schedule the job - Fast to get the job done - Communicative throughout the process - Patient despite a delay on materials - Friendly and direct - Cheap v other quotes we got for the jobs - New floor looks great from far away (certainly better than what was there before) Cons: -Quite a bit of unevenness in new tile floor - there are tiles sticking out / pushed in further than those surrounding them, some up to 1/8". This makes cleaning the floor pretty difficult, and it's also unattractive to look at and uncomfortable to walk on. The First Choice team tried to fix the issues with additional grout but it didn't resolve anything so we were offered a discount on the job. A full demo would be needed to actually fix the issue. New issue after a few months.... some of the grout (around tub and in doorway) has cracked and fallen out since install. It looks *bad*. It's not an issue of the house moving - the grout that had been in the bathroom the 50 years prior never cracked. read more

They showed up on time, and did an amazing job regrouting our custom tile shower. They removed all the old grout from the floor and walls, and grouted them again within one day! My wife is no longer wanting to burn the house down just because of the shower. It We initially were worried that we had ruined the floors tile with excessive scrubbing that we did while trying to get rid of some buildup it just turned out to be discoloration caused by something...and were still not sure what it was. We even had a professional steam clean done right before and it didn't get the stains out. If we ever need to do tile again we'll definitely be calling to have them do it. read more

What originally started out as a re-grout turned into a full shower renovation, and Adrian worked to fit us into his schedule. Our new shower looks good and Adrian also recommended a glass guy and the new shower door was very nicely done. There were a few bumps along the way. One of our floor trim tiles popped off during demo which Adrian repaired but the grout was not matched well. We've requested he come back to repair that. An interior bathroom window was not masked off so we ended up with lots of dust in the bedroom. Some old shower door frame pieces were left on the side of the house. Although I'm taking a star off for these items, the quality of the tile work was pretty good. If you choose First Choice yourselves, make sure you are on their schedule and that everything is taken care of before the job is settled. read more

I had gotten in touch with Adrian after our original general contractor had brought in a tiler that was definitely inexperienced and not qualified to do restroom tiling. Impressed by the reviews on Yelp! I had sent over some photos of our space, as well as the original tiler's work and stated my concerns. Adrian was quick to respond via email, then scheduled a call within 24 hours and we had an appointment for him to do an in home evaluation of the restroom requiring work. He said that he would have a bid out to me by the end of the day and this is exactly what he did. It is important to have reliable professionals that follow up and also send estimates out when they've promised especially when you are doing a remodeling project and Adrian exceeded my expectations in this aspect as well as in overall communication. We kept in contact via text to discuss his schedule and plans to come in on specific days to work on the project. The following Monday Adrian had came with his crew and they had prepped the restroom for set up. They set up the walls to ensure that it was waterproofed and also hardiebackererd the floors to prepare it for the tiling work. After that day, Adrian came back numerous times to work on the tiling. It's a high ceiling restroom and I wanted the tiles to go all the way up. This took a lot of patience and time on his end that required him to come back on different days to allow the tiles to set appropriately prior to continuing on and stacking the large tiles. I would occasionally peak into the restroom to see the progress and work that was put into creating the beautiful finishing. Tiling is truly a craft that requires an experienced professional that is also detail oriented. Adrian took the time to cut tiles that were as thin as 1/4 inch just to make sure it fit in a small area of the walls. Other people would have just grouted it in it's entirety and called it a day. At one point, when he was installing the metal siding for the shower, he noticed that they were slightly different tones (despite it being the same exact SKU#) and he asked me first if it was okay to use. I gave him the thumbs up, but definitely appreciated him running this very small difference by me and double checking. One of my biggest concerns and issues with the previous tiler we had was that there was a lot of lippage on our tiles and grout lines were not clean and spacing was not even. When Adrian had done my tiles, the spacing is on point. In addition, Adrian was careful with the tiles and had clean cuts. The previous tiler we had chipped a lot of our very tiles! Lastly, Adrian and his crew was respectful of my home and courteous to ensure that they were not in the way of what we were doing. They were also friendly, witty, and always a pleasure to interact with. I've contracted them for two other restrooms that we are having redone and am excited to see the results and outcome of the work. I have nothing but praise for his quality of work.
