I found that I had started this review by doing the star rating and forgot to come back to write review. I never finished it so I'm updating this now for the tile we bought about 5 years ago. It was very modern bathroom wall tile that was 1/5th the price for a similar design at Home Depot, Lowes or any of the large stores. I also remember the actual design looked more modern and had better shine and detail than the large store The service was very nice and they helped put all the tile into our van. I had a potential interior design client go in and get some samples from them. When I went in and tried to find out who made the tiles, they informed me that they didn't give out that information. It bordered on a rude response. You see, if they don't tell you who made it, you can go compare prices FROM THE MANUFACTURER. That way they can charge whatever they want, which is always more than the manufacturer will charge. I'd look elsewhere. The tiles they carry aren't that special, and the many manufacturer's showrooms in Sodo are all wonderful in terms of service. read more

I recently decided on a kitchen and bath remodel in my condo here. I shopped around quite a bit here in Seattle and in San Francisco for the "prefect" glass tile backsplash. The tile options/styles here are vast and indeed good quality. The staff are helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Sarabeth, Denee and Lake were simply outstanding! I live in San Fran most of the year and we did a lot of the transactions via email and by phone. The staff sent me images of sample tiles when requested and promptly called me when my order was ready. Simply put, this is how nice the staff can be: I was short on 3 tile sheets, thankfully they were not special order, however, I needed them on Monday. I called the store at 5:30pm on a Saturday and spoke to Lake, informing him of my predicament and he graciously offered to drive to the warehouse en route to work on Monday morning for me! Simply one of the best tile stores I been to. We bought our tiles from here. Simple two reasons (Yes TWO, 3 is the standard but this place only needs 2) why Seattle Tile Company is awesome: 1. Selection - Huge selection of tiles. There are tiles in every nook and cranny of this place. It took me awhile to even narrow down which ones I like. From porcelain to stone this place has it all. If you are looking for something different than Home Depot and Lowe's. This store is it. 2. Service - People here are super sweet and helpful. At no time I felt like I was the being pressure to buy. They listened to what our preference and choices and gave us perfect options. We ended up going with one of their options. Good people work there. Price maybe a little more than other stores but as I mentioned, if you are looking for something different this place is it. My parents were up from Portland for a visit and were in the process of remodeling a home in Oregon. They stopped in for a look as they were on a seemingly futile hunt for the right back splash. After seeing the granite sample Denee , brought out the perfect glass tile. Within 10 minutes the perfect tile was discovered, ordered and my parents were thrilled! They were even more please with Denee's problem solving as to the shipping to Oregon. Turns out the delivery truck made a stop in Portland before heading to Seattle - they were able to meet the truck in Portland and saved a bundle on shipping! I was so pleased to find a tile shop with this kind of selection and service outside of the "tile mecca" of Georgetown/SODO. 'Cause I'm lazy and don't like crossing downtown traffic. I made two trips to Seattle Tile Company for a small bathroom remodel, and was first helped by Sarabeth, and then another employee. They went out of their way pulling and explaining many tile samples for me to check out. (Only $10 deposit to take those guys home.) The only downside to Seattle Tile is that the selection tends to be on the pricier end, or at least not on the budget end. Also, the tile sample key they printed out for me didn't include any information on the manufacturer, so I couldn't easily do research on my own. In the end we did purchase our tile here and it was a quick 2-day turnaround. read more

I was trying to match our existing kitchen tile as closely as possible and they did a great job working with me to get the closest tile possible. Seattle Tile recently completed a beautiful tile job in our basement bathroom and we couldn't be happier. From start to finish the job was a breeze from picking out the tile with their extremely knowledgable and helpful staff in the showroom, to the estimating part with Tom (who as a dog lover) became immediate friends with our dog Maggie bringing treats on a daily basis for her. The amazingly talented tile guys completed an intricate herringbone shower pattern and made it look WAY BETTER than the inspiration we provided- they were true perfectionists and artists! Tom was a hands on project manager from start to finish which is another important reason why the job was such a success. Knowledgable and friendly staff, great products. Went in on a rainy Saturday at 3pm and the place was packed. I figured it would have to be a browsing only day as I'd never get help given the number of people there. Unbelievably, one of the staff made eye contact with me, apologized for how busy they were and promised someone would be able to help me shortly. Sure enough, we got all our questions answered and some great ideas. We left with some samples and a color packet from Color in Space. We recently completed a bathroom remodel. I initially wanted to shop locally and checked out Seattle Tile Company because I'd read some nice things about their store. While they had a pretty good variety of tile to choose from, and I thought a couple of the women who worked there were very helpful, I ultimately was shocked by their high prices. We had them price some accent tile for us which they graciously did. Because the price seemed so high, I contacted a friend who was able to find the wholesale price for me from a local tile company The price I was quoted by Seattle Tile was 6 times (SIX TIMES!!!!) higher than the wholesale price and 3 times higher than the "suggested retail" price the wholesale company quoted.! That's downright ridiculous. Needless to say, I did not buy my tile from this company. read more

I've used this store to make many of my tile purchases. The staff is amazing there and super helpful. Sarabeth helped me pick out a lot of my tile. I just tell her what kind of tile I'm looking for - colors, styles, shapes- and she finds exactly what I want. They are very patient and have lots of samples you can check out. I've gone back and forth many times on my selections and they've always helped with a smile. They knew my name too after just a visit or two and greet me with my name and a smile every time I go in. You're definitely not going to get discount prices but at the same time they don't do huge mark-ups over suggested retail (sometimes they come in a little under suggested retail). As other reviewers said, the selection is great and they also offer lots of advice on installation if you do it yourself. read more

Having been essentially ignored by a much larger "chain" flooring company recommended by my realtor (NOPE: not Home Depot or Lowe's), I asked my home handyman to recommend somewhere I could get real "service" and he said Seattle Tile Company (well - he said a place in Ballard on 15th NW about 77th). I went there this morning and Loni was there to help me --- she really listened to what I thought I wanted for replacing 35 year old broken tiles in the foyer of my home with new ones. I'm going to be selling my house, so didn't want to choose Taj Mahal priced tiles, so we picked out 3 contrasting styles, I took them home and set them in the space, and (voila!) liked the least expensive choice. I feel very satisfied, and it's mostly because of the skills that Loni displayed ... listening, pulling out choices, realizing this was not about luxury for me, but about replacing broken old 7" tiles and caring about the way the house will look as I sell it. Seattle Tile is amazing. Tom Foti and his craftsmen Alex and Glenn are exceptional at tile work. We had tile installation with our fireplace surround and kitchen floor done by Seattle Tile and the results were beautiful. Tom understood the complexities of our old house and how to make repairs so the results were perfect. They were always cognizant during the work of keeping the dust to a minimum and were considerate of keeping the house clean. Tom was very effective at communicating throughout the work to ensure we were happy with the results. We plan to have more work done secondary to their expertise and reliability. read more

Unfortunately, our project was delayed, but we went back to Seattle Tile yesterday and she actually remembered us. We have never tiled before and needed a lot of assistance. She was very patient. The store is fantastic and our installation experience was incredible. Everyone we worked with in the store was super friendly and helpful. We used them for installation too and we are so impressed with the quality of work and the respect for our home and our time. They were on time every day and guided us through decisions we had to make. Every night they cleaned up and it was almost like noone had been there. I can't speak highly enough about the great job each member of the team did. We have worked with Seattle Tile twice- one bathroom including shower and floors and one fireplace mantle. In both cases we had great help from the sales team designing the installation and from Tom and the installers. They were careful, neat, and clearly felt great pride in making sure the job was completed perfectly. They take their time with you, but, of course, this also means that sometimes you'll have to wait for others to be helped! Wait, make sure you have ordered enough tile. We trusted Seattle Tile to give us a quote on what it would take to do a backsplash. We had paid for a consultation and provided the dimensions and photos of the current kitchen. We ordered and picked up the tile 2 weeks later. Our tile installer came over ready to install and he said we were short 40 tiles. Details were missed in calculating the tile, and when I called to complain, Sarabeth denied that we had given the dimensions of the backspash. Just not true! We ordered another box, but in looking to see if anyone else had the tile, found the EXACT same tile at Home Depot for less than half the price, so ordered the box from them. When my wife called to cancel the order for the extra box from ST, she was told that the tiles at Home Depot were "not square". Don't think they would stay in business for long if that was the case. I can not recommend them in the future. Just beware. It was a costly mistake in time and money for us. BTW, our tile guy told us he had run into the same issue of a short tile order with Seattle Tile on 3 other jobs he worked on. read more
