TL;DR: Kay and his team renovated our kitchen, living + dining room, entryway, and bonus room in 2024. We loved working with him, because of his efficiency, honesty, good design sense, and high bar for quality. He also offers competitive prices. We worked with Kay to replace our carpet with hardwood floor, update our staircase railings, replace our front door, add a new window above the front door, update entryway ceiling (to natural cedar to match interior), separate our bonus room into two usable rooms, and build a custom bookshelf in the bonus room. He completed this entire scope of work in ~2 weeks. His team was efficient, had a high bar for quality, and cleaned up every day. Kay also was very flexible in providing guidance when issues popped up. Because we had a great experience with him, we also contracted Kay to do a full remodel of our kitchen. He demolished everything in the kitchen down to the frames, reconfigured electrical + lighting + plumbing, installed new floors, cleaned up the walls and ceilings, installed the quartz countertop, and installed the appliances. We hired Kay last minute to do a cosmetic reno of our tiny 80s kitchen, replacing and repositioning very old cabinets. They were able to completely transform the kitchen in less than a week! They were able to fit us in quickly and gave a reasonable quote compared to other contractors. What was most important was that when problems arose (leaks beneath the sink due to improper pipe placement and years of damage), Kay was able to gut and reroute the pipes and replace valves and communicated with us the entire time. We felt assured to trust them with these issues. There was lots of problem solving to address (missing flooring, broken appliances, holes in walls), but Kay tackled all of them with clear communication and efficiency. I originally had Kay come by to give me a quote for a remodel sometime during the pandemic but found I wasn't financially ready, nor did I have a good enough idea of what I wanted to do as I just moved in. Fast forward a couple years later, Kay vaguely remembered my house and the original bid, but it remained competitive and beat out some of the other bids I received. His excellent communication, punctuality, and respect for property is what earned him my business. He was able to start within a week of the bid with his crew of 2. I had Kay redo my entire kitchen and half bathroom with replacement of entryway floor tile, had the master bathroom completely redone as well as a matching vanity for the guest bathroom (I kinda ran outta money for the rest for now:[ ). After signing a contract, and not knowing where to go, Kay directed me to various stores for the stone, cabinets, appliances, and fixtures. We hired Kay to renovate our 1970 built home in 2023. Having had several quotes from other remodelers we decided to go with Kay. He was easy to talk to and his previous clients seemed very happy with his work. He sent me a digital image of how he planned to change up the kitchen and bathroom. I had a few things I wanted done a little differently and he was quick with a new mock up blueprint. Everything looked good so we scheduled the demo and got rolling. Quickly, we asked to also change our kitchen countertops, sink, garbage disposal, some trim work around our peninsula, and to change a light. The custom island was 100% designed by Kay and it's honestly exactly what I envisioned! I'm so happy with how it turned out. The countertops brightened our kitchen and Kay helped in choosing the best one that would go with our already colorful cabinets and backsplash, lol. The trim work was a last minute request and Kay came back just a couple of weeks after to start, and again it turned out so well. So, why did we go with Kay? How about expert advice and work, excellent communication and awesome punctuality. We asked Kay for help with an indoor project (closet) and a few outdoor ones (deck bar, gate hardware). Our deck issue: the cedar plank finish was flaking off and was all gross and moldy. Kay suggested granite and provided excellent suggestions and ideas on how to improve the look of our deck bar. The before and after show the cedar and then an absolutely beautiful piece of granite that we love, love for our bar top. Kay then helped to get our master closet ready for a custom closet installation. He removed the old hardware, painted the room and installed a new LED light.
