Cannot recommend Corneliu highly enough! A seemingly minor window leak ended up being a much bigger problem that required some major rehab work including repair of a deck that was very unsafe. While that was an unwelcome surprise, I felt extremely fortunate that Corneliu was the one who discovered and ultimately fixed the problem. This issue was neglected by another contractor who had done siding work previously for me. Corneliu fixed everything the RIGHT WAY at a very fair price and worked as late as 7:30pm, long after the sun had gone down, to ensure everything was done before the next storm rolled in. Corneliu did an absolutely amazing job. He was professional, kind, fast, and reasonably priced. He communicated well throughout the project. We wanted a door installed in the interior of our home. Cornel arrived, measured the space, explained the different styles, asking what we'd like. Then he went to the hardware store himself, took photos of all of the options that fit our criteria, and texted us the options so we could choose, saving me time from having to go to the store myself. He also went above and beyond by offering to fix the opposite side of the door frame, which was ugly before the project started. We didn't even think it was an option to fix that. Cornel installed the door, painted it, and fixed the trim on both sides, on the same day. The final result is absolutely perfect. It's beautiful, and the quality is stellar. It was hard to find someone who would install our Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights. Smart Construction was only one of 2 contractors who gave us an estimate. It was our first time using them which is always nerve racking since we've dealt with not so great contractors in the past. We chose them because of their reviews and was able to get us on their schedule. We had to wait a few weeks(understandable) but just in time for Halloween! They were professional and communicated well. They showed up when they said they would and were tidy. I wasn't sure where to mount the lights but they helped me decide what would be best for our house. I am so happy with how it turned out! We wanted to change out an outdoor flood light but couldn't easily get to it due to a bush in the way. Corneliu came by with Victor and changed out the light fixture in no time at all. He was really patient with us as we watched from below trying to get the angles just right. Corneliu also noticed that one of our fence panels had come apart and offered to fix it for a very reasonable price. I declined because we hope to replace the entire fence sometime soon, but he was really concerned that the entire panel would get knocked down on a windy day, so he went out to his van and brought back a board to secure the panel in place until we can arrange a more permanent solution. We hired Cornelieu after getting a few estimates to replace our front door. He was about in the middle range of quotes, but he was very responsive and from the positive reviews, we decided to hire him. The new door was custom made upon another contractor's measurements. It came pre hung in the frame including the door and two side pieces of glass. The entire frame ended up being too wide and too high for the existing opening. They described the problem and what needed to be done, thus making the job more complicated than he had imagined. What I appreciated was that they didn't panic and reassured us that they would figure it out. Overcoming the logistical problems with skill and patience, they did a beautiful job with the installation, with no hint that it was problematic. Yes that's 1 more then the scale and IMO Corneliu went above and beyond and did so with a positive, professional attitude. I would give the project a degree of difficulty on a 10 scale as an 8 (technical, outside the box) the result is invisible to most anyone except the 2 of us. Response was a few hours after posting the job to 6 Handyman (Yelp designated) companies, while there was no mention of timeline, Corneliu said he could come right away and arrived within the hour.
