Hire Kay. (Don't worry about it!) Get awesome results. Or roll the dice and go with someone else. We unfortunately did both (hired one contractor for water damage repairs, and Kay for our kitchen) and the difference is night and day, Kay all the way. I am going to sing all of his praises so I'm going to start with the highlights and THEN get into details for you people who don't know what TLDR means. At the highest level, Kay knows his stuff. He's got good taste, can advise on what will look good, what will look bad, and knows when to push back and when to take your feedback to produce a great outcome. But now let me outline in great detail all the fantastic things about Kay. Our new kitchen is amazing, end to end. Cabinets, styles, hardware, and fit. Kitchen layout, sink configuration, working with granite and counter manufacturers that know their stuff. Good advice on proper material selection. We even threw Kay a curveball by selecting backsplash that was too big for his saw (he complained but he did it). And. The. Results. Speak. For. Themselves. I do LED lighting myself and Kay left me a spot to run my cables. He fixed issues with my power in the kitchen. He fit a drawer microwave into my island. He helped fix power issues that wouldn't otherwise accommodate moving my fridge to make my cramped kitchen seem much, much bigger. Outlets in the kitchen were ugly, he replaced them with decora style. Can Kay move a Fridge under the stairs to give my kitchen more space? Yes. He. Can. Do I need to go on, because I can? As he was knocking it out of the park in the kitchen I was like, "Kay, I got a question for you, how would you handle this?'" Kay is like "Don't worry about it, I fix it for you" (you will hear this a lot, it's his favorite phrase). Examples: I had rodents that would nest under my stoop due to an open area. He fixed it. (Don't worry about it!) I was charging my EV at 110V. (Don't worry about it!). Now it's 240V. My outdoor power outlet was loose and a hazard waiting to happen. (Don't worry about it!) Fixed, and now with 4 outlets instead of 2. Power outlet was broken when kiddo jumped on the couch and it broke the outlet. (Don't worry about it!) Code violation... no more. Other contractor didn't totally fix my home theater power problem, so I'd have ugly cables hanging from the TV. (Don't worry about it!) He did this on the last day of the job when he came by for what reason? **Because he was introducing us to his cleaning crew, to help clean the house for not only his job but the other contractor too!!!** Didn't I already tell you? We had a excellent experience working with Kay! We had been considering a big remodeling project for some time and finally decided to go for it. This was our first project ever and we spoke to many contractors. Kay was among one of them and he was responsive and a great communicator. He scheduled time to come out quickly to discuss what we were looking to do and to assess our space. He was very helpful and helped us understand how our design would work within our space. His offer was also very competitive. He continued to remain in contact with us as we were considering our options. When we were ready to move forward, Kay was at the top of our list. Our renovation project included remodeling our kitchen (change in design from peninsula to island, new cabinets, backsplash, raising kitchen ceiling, adding lights and more), closing off our sunroom nook area and putting in french doors and pantry cabinets, updating all of our bathrooms (new tiles, cabinets, lights, built in a drop-in master tub, built in niche, etc), new LVP throughout our whole two story house, new paint throughout, and adding recessed lighting to our first and second floor rooms. Throughout our whole project, Kay and his team was diligent, detailed, and professional. Kay helped us think of creative ways to achieve what we wanted. We worked with Mr. Park on a bathroom remodel. Their drywall and tile work is absolutely stunning. The bluetooth vent is is fantastic. The window installation is holding up great. Unfortunately some of the plumbing aspects of the job did not hold up over time - they do look beautiful from far away, just not fully functional.
