PRICE-GOUGED THEN GHOSTED. DO NOT USE THIS GUY.
Earnest--owner of Seal a Shield, from what I understand--came out to repair our windshield and assured me that he could stabilize the crack so that it wouldn't grow any farther. He was a friendly guy, who was able to come out on short notice--since we were in from out of town--which I appreciated.
But everything went downhill quickly. When he finished the repair, the windshield still looked pretty bad, but I figured it was the best we could do. Earnest told me his card reader was broken, so I needed to pay the $100 in cash. I did this in good faith, as Earnest told me he'd warranty his work and give me a receipt to confirm.
Welp. The next morning, two spidering cracks had grown from 2 inches to about 6-8 inches each. When I called Earnest back, he told me to send photos and he'd call me soon. I sent pictures. When he didn't call back, I tried him again. He answered and said he'd call in five minutes. An hour later, I tried him again and he'd turned off his phone. His phone was off for the rest of the day and the mechanic who referred me to Earnest wasn't able to contact him either. Earnest never tried contacting me again, by phone or text.
Meanwhile, I took the car to another shop, who told me I'd been significantly overcharged and that he could tell the first repair had been a botched job (the stop-points were totally off). I also noticed later that the receipt Earnest gave me said I'd paid him $80, instead of the $100 he was given.
In the end, Earnest took advantage of the fact that we were in from out of town and decided to take us for a ride. He did poor quality work, took our $100 cash, and talked a big game about guaranteeing his repair, while knowing he'd be able to dodge us if we came looking for him.
