We used to LOVE this local winery, which was our go-to place for a relaxing and enjoyable winetasting experience. Unfortunately, our recent visit to this winery will be our last. The older blonde woman, who seemed to be running the place, was extremely rude to us from the moment we walked in the door. (The two underage staff assistants who were helping her, however, were very welcoming, helpful, and friendly.) We prefer to give our business to small, family-run wineries, but have crossed this winery off our list because of this woman's poor customer service. Sadly, we will no longer be enjoying this winery with friends and family, or recommending it to others for tasting and weddings. read more

Service was awesome, the gal at the front let us know they were short staffed but you wouldn't be able to tell because she was attentive and let us try multiple wines. We got two glasses and sat out in the courtyard... three stars is for ambiance, the grounds are beautiful.... As an out-of-town couple planning our wedding 400 miles away, we wanted to book a venue in our hometown of Sacramento as soon as we got engaged. Upon visiting SBV, meeting with the coordinator, and touring the grounds, it was a no-brainer for my husband(!) and I. Our 7/1/17 wedding was beyond perfection!! My bridesmaids and I rented the Bungalow on the property for the day which was perfect to get ready in, and the whole venue was a great backdrop for the day. We had our ceremony among the vines in the Chardonnay garden, our cocktail hour on the newly renovated back patio, and our reception under the tent...it was super convenient having everything in one location! My husband and I got married at Scribner Bend at the end of April 2023. We would give it 10 stars if possible! Honestly, we could not imagine having our wedding anywhere else. First, the place is BEAUTIFUL. The flowers, the vines, the barn, the ceremony and reception area, the bungalow - everything is stunning. Second, the food (Paesanos) - AMAZING. We had SO many guests comment on how delicious dinner was (and of course the late night pizzas - highly recommend). SBV also had an awesome selection of wines, as anticipated from our previous trips wine tasting here, but nonetheless, phenomenal as well. Most importantly, Jessica and the Scribner team were amazing to work with. She answered every question we had in a very timely manner, sent reminders and updates, and made us feel very comfortable with the process. From the very first tour to the last hour of wedding clean up - they were there to help and support every step of the way. Everything ran so smoothly on wedding day. My husband and I were married here 5 years ago and although the venue looked a little different then, the service remained excellent and still is to this day. We recently became wine club members and I regret not doing it sooner!! We just picked up our August shipment and brought in a gift certificate given to us from our wedding -- 5 year later and they honored it AND gave us a complimentary champagne! Speaking of: the almond champagne is AMAZING. So is the fiore! The paesanos kitchen in the back has a good selection of pizzas and appetizers, the live music and sightings of white peacocks make this the ideal weekend spot! The Scribner family was so kind to us when we booked the venue for our wedding and we will never forget their love and appreciation for military and law enforcement. Karen Gamalski and Suzanne are also sweet staff members who truly care people that you feel as if you are family. Jessica was super helpful with the wedding planning and kept me on point through the whole process. The food for the wedding was catered by Paesano's. It was amazing!! The vibe, the food, and the wine was great. Especially, the Almond Sparkling Wine used for toasting. Our guest said we had the best wedding they have ever been too! We were married here in September and it was the most amazing wedding day EVER! We had so much fun and the venue was perfect. Since the location is already decorated with beautiful flowers, plants and twinkling lights there was really not much we had to do, except a couple finishing touches. We had the pizza buffet to eat which was warm, fresh and a hit with our guests. We used the bungalow for the bridal party to get ready, which made the day so easy. The whole day was just one big party and truly was the best day ever. We used Elegant Events Media for the DJ, photographer, videographer and photo booth. They are a preferred vendor for Scribner and the professional relationship showed in the wonderful services provided. Now, both my parents and I are wine club members. We truly enjoyed our time at Scribner Bend for our wedding. Our family and friends had nothing but positive comments about the beautiful venue. Our facilitator the day of the evening, Michelle, was amazing and attentive. The event coordinator, Jessica, was with us every step of the way since the beginning of our journey. This is a beautiful vineyard. The wines are delicious too. The staff are friendly. I came here to look at the vineyard. I met the Misses of the winery who so kind to show me around the area for possible meeting space I was looking at coordinating for my team for an offsite meeting. Although the meeting was postpone so nothing was arranged as of yet. I stayed, tasted the wine and ended up joining the wine club and buying wine prior to leaving. Boy what an adventurous and spontaneous day for me. :-) If you haven't been to this winery I definitely recommend it. Coming from the bay area I am a frequent visitor to Sonoma and Napa county but discovering great wines here in Sacramento. This winery is just 20 minutes from my house. Met my friends who are members of the wine club here for a tasting on Saturday afternoon. Was quite delighted to find such a little gem with a similar feel of Napa but right in my own backyard here on the delta. The tasting is free with membership and the whole flight was really enjoyable. The standout wine was definitely the sparkling almond wine at the finish! The grounds are beautiful and there was live music in the courtyard area and wood brick oven piping out hot and yummy pizza from Paesano's. As we were leaving a wedding was setting up. Scribner Bend is a beautiful place. I almost feel like this review isn't fair to write because the weather was not as beautiful. It was incredibly windy which made our experience a lot less enjoyable but I will do my best to speak to the experience without the wind in mind. I wasn't a huge fan of the order and sit down style service, but I'm curious as to if that is simply because of covid protocols. The wine in the wine flight was enjoyable and the pizza and charcuterie board from Paesanos was incredible. I look forward to visiting them again on a sunnier and less windy day. read more

Scribner Bend is one pretty winery. This place would be great for weddings, fancy outdoor cocktail party or just a nice get toegther with friends and family. Did a wine tasting of their whites- the pinot grigio and chardonnay as well as their famed temparnillo port. The ladies at the counter were real friendly and chatty. The wines are not very good, across the board, and the tempranillo is especially sad (despite winning some awards). The whole place looks like they built it so they could have weddings there - it's an office with a farmhouse facade, Christmas light archways, and a big fountain surrounded by dirt. Scribner Bend Vineyards is one of the wineries not located at the Old Sugar Mill and is one of the more attractive wineries in the Delta. Their large estate is located off River Road south of the Freeport Bridge. If you are coming from Sacramento, head straight on River Road instead of turning onto the bridge; Scribner is on the other side of the river from the other Clarksburg wineries. Although signage heading to the winery is plentiful, the actual driveway pops up out of nowhere, so be prepared. The vineyards surrounding the tasting room and event center are just gorgeous and interspersed with roses and olive trees. This is a winery that hosts lots of events including food, music, picnics, weddings, and even some wine. Unfortunately, this focus on many other things may take away from a traditional wine tasting experience. Their wines are typical of the Delta region, although I am much more of a Delta white fan instead of the reds. Those used to Lodi or Napa reds will probably not like their selection, but the growing conditions are very good for whites. They have a generous tasting menu, although most of their business is selling glasses and bottles for the people sitting on the patio. Compared to other Delta wineries, Scribner is one of the prettiest, but those looking for just wine tasting may be disappointed. However, if you want to picnic or listen to a band while enjoying a chilled white in the late summer, this is probably your best bet! read more

Scribner staff and owners, made a difficult time into wonderful celebration of a life well lived. I lost my wife to a valiant struggle and wanted to create an event not to morn, but celebrate life with her many loving friends and family. Scribner Bend ' s facilities were well above expectations. I visited here for the first time on May 7, 2010, the occasion of my son's wedding. It was absolutely a splendid day and Scribner was a lovely venue for the event. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more accomodating and the setting, with the vineyard all around, and arbors, lush with white roses, was romantic and enjoyable. I read an earlier review bashing the tempranillo but I thought it was excellent! One of my friends bought a case to take home! The caterer they recommended for the event was superb. My wife and I chose Scribner Bend for our Wedding, and it was a great decision. Jessica, our coordinator, was always on top of things during this whole process, which we started 18 months before the big day. She guided us through many logistics that we just did not think to address, as we counted on her to be the professional. She was definetly the expert, and answered all our questions if we didn't understand something. Scriber has just an excellent venue for a wedding, and we would do it there again. It got a little cold on some of my guests because of the delta breeze, even in May, so if your considering doing it there I would tell guests to be prepared. We had the wedding of our dreams at Scribner Bend this past July. It was hands down the best night of both of our lives, and I credit the amazing staff and the beautiful venue. Jessica is an absolute rockstar and had the planning down to a science. Eve was our night-of coordinator and she could not have been more on top of things. Anyone who says that the Sugar Mill or Bogle is better is seriously deluded. The outside yard is beautiful and more than adequately shaded. I personally LOVE the wines here, a perfect example of a sacramento/ clarksburg terroir. I DO wish they would try their hand at a Chenin. Anyone who gives this place below 3 star solely based on the wine, clearly doesn't understand "wine". Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that it's bad wine. I am not sure why I haven't posted a review before... I am a club member BUT Scribner is amazing! Paesanos has this own kitchen/brick oven (?) there and it's great to get food while drinking a bottle of wine. I love their fried raviolis, Brussel sprouts and pizza they make. The wine is amazing, delicious, and great price. The staff is very nice, informative and welcoming. I have no pics to post because I always eat and drink everything I forget to take one. I do not even know where to begin with Scribner Bend Vineyards. They are hands down the BEST wedding venue/winery in Sacramento!!! This was our first & last stop on our wedding venue tour. We fell in love immediately. And their wedding coordinator Jessica is such an angel! She makes you feel so comfortable as soon as you meet her and she is so thorough with everything! We just got married on 8/18/18 and could not have asked for a more magical day as well as wedding planning process all thanks so Scribner Bend! They make everything so easy for you. Jessica was so responsive to any questions or emails I had. And the actual wedding day was just beautiful and seamless and we could not thank them enough for everything! Besides our wedding, we have fallen in love with their wine and tasting room!!! We became wine club members (awesome wine club btw, highly recommend!) and we just love coming here on the weekends to taste their delicious wines, have some amazing Paesanos pizza and salads, and just relax by the delta. It's a pretty little winery close to Sacramento with a weird, creepy, empty house in front of it. Ask the person inside about it. Only 5 minutes away from Freeport Bar & Grill, it's was a nice first wine stop today after a delicious lunch. It was easy to find and the lady serving us was really friendly and knowledgeable. I've been here a few times for wine tasting and had the pleasure of attending a wedding here last night. First, for Clarksburg wines, these are quite good. The Pinot Grigio is excellent. I love the viogneir, although if they weren't tasting it yesterday. The what an experience was amazing. This was my step daughter's wedding. The grounds were fantastic. They have a bungalow in the front to get ready. It was quite nice. They also have a beautiful lawn which is fantastic for pictures. The wedding and reception areas were amazing. Last night it did get a little chilly and I had hoped they would have had some heaters, but I think it was just colder than anyone expected. That being said, nobody who was dancing got cold! The food was catered by Paesano's and it was definitely better food than you get in Paesano's restaurant! Looking for a great place for a wedding, picnic, or wine tasting? I hit the brakes and made a u-turn when I saw the wine tasting sign out front. Becky greeted us and my wife and I were treated to several reds and whites for tasting. The wine here is very good. The grapes are all grown locally and they have their own production facility on the grounds. I don't usually like all the wines I taste from a winery but I did today. We tasted inside but there were tables available for sitting outside if that's your thing. We did purchase two bottle at a reasonable price.
