Such a beautiful and elegant place with delicious wine and amazing hospitality. I found this wonderful place through a Yolo county wine event. And then I came here for a visit loved it so much and came back immediately the next week. For my first visit, I tried the sparkling rosé the cuvée, petite sirah and the wine slushie. Their wine slushy has a really good texture. It is very fine with just a right amount of icy. It is delightfully, sweet, but not too sweet. The sparkling rosé is super tasty. The cuvée is an all weather red. And the petite sirah feels like a red wine you would sit by the fire during the colder weather. The place is absolutely beautiful if you sit outside where you can see the vineyard the view is amazing. If you sit inside, the decor is very elegant and vibey. Service is absolutely amazing above and beyond. If you don't know what you like your tasting associate will recommend based on your preference and give you tastings before you commit to a glass. I had heard about Heringer from a friend and seen pictures of their barn but it was so incredible in person! We wanted to hit a winery in Clarksburg after picking up our friend at the airport and this one fit the bill. It was pretty quiet and chill on a Friday afternoon. The barn is beautiful inside and out and there is lots of seating around outside with shade and misters. Unfortunately it was still really too warm to sit out there on the day we picked so we lasted a little more than an hour. I would love to come back on a cooler day. Our server was great and greeted us with a tasty sparkling. I love that they have lots of different flights to choose from or you can just order a bottle or glass off the menu. They also have slushies which I would have tried if I wasn't driving. I went with the red flight and took a bottle of the Teralago home. We brought sandwiches and enjoyed them with our wine. There aren't many wineries that offer non alcoholic wine tasting so my husband and I were really happy to find out Heringer Estates does. They offer a red, sparking white and sparkling rose. We were unsure if we wanted the rose or white, thinking we had to buy a bottle and the hostess informed us that we could do a flight of all 3, which we did. She was very informative and gave us information on the wines and the process, noting they were de-alcoholized. She also made sure to inform us that there is still less than .05% alcohol in it which was fine. These a things that can be very helpful for someone who does t drink alcohol and it was appreciated the care that was taken while we were there. We brought our lunch and did the flight, tasting all 3 wines. Our favorite was the sparkling white and then the rose. All wines were very good and as close to regular wine as you can get, not being a juice like some n/a wines. The grounds are beautiful and you can sit inside or outside, with plenty of seating for both options. We had a really nice time and are so happy to have a winery we can visit as non drinkers. The grounds are peaceful and beautiful, and we love grabbing a glass of wine and walking along the slough. We recently stopped by last minute on a chilly, drizzly day and were treated to a complimentary mulled wine tasting that was both warming and delicious. What a great find and not too far from home too! From the beautiful grounds, to the delicious wine, and the best customer service! Heringer is top notch all the way around. Just coming from a previous winery down the street, we were greeted by such a lovely winery estate. The tasting took place in a wonderful barn which was well decorated while also providing more than enough heat lamps to keep things nice and comfortable. There was ample seating inside as well as outdoors! Now to the wines. Oh my! We started with a flight of reds! How to choose? So difficult especially with the generous pours and variety of tastings offered by our lovely waitress (wish I could remember her name!). She took the time to describe every single wine. She catered to our palette and brought out red after red. It was definitely hard to choose, but I did love the Purple Thread, Sparking Tempranillo and the Tannat 2021. TBH, we loved them all! A little disappointed on my first visit. Their advertisement was a little deceiving. My first visit there and was looking forward to seeing the live music on 2/1. Was greeted with a nice lady that said I can order a glass of wine where the live music was playing. When I got to the area to order the wine, they told me I had to go off to a nearby area out by the separate tent that was set up. I was told that I could not order from the area where they live music was because it was members only. So when I went to the tented area, where is my glass of wine, it was nowhere near the live music . Their advertisement on social media was deceiving as it was advertised to the public, which is how how I heard about them. If it was members only I would expect them to make a private invite to their members only and not make it public. My first experience was not enjoyable. read more

I've been a member for a few years. The wine is decent and the wine slushies are great. The service can be slow, but the employees have always been welcoming and pleasant - until today. I've never felt so unwelcomed. The server took our order and dropped the flights off about 15 minutes later with no explanation of the wines. While she wasn't overtly rude, she was not friendly. However, she acted completely different to the table next to us - she was welcoming, explained the wines, and even surprised the whole table with an additional sample. To make matters worse, we had a coupon mailed to us offering "two glasses of wine" for free. When we tried to use it, she stated they were for physical wine glasses only. Ok, but "glasses of wine" and "wine glasses" are not the same thing. We had a similar coupon in the past that clearly stated it was for two Heringer logo wine glasses. I just threw the coupon away, since I didn't need more wine glasses at home and didn't want to argue. I'm not sure if she was just having a bad day, but the experience today was bad enough that I'm considering cancelling my membership. read more

One of my favorite wineries in Clarksburg. This is definitely a must stop when in that area because they often times will have a market for people to shop at or live music! The barn is soooo pretty and I love the atmosphere. They also have fire pits. And of course their wine is actually so delicious and you can never go wrong with it here. We did 2 wine tastings which are good value - loved the sweet wines and ended up taking a couple bottles home. The slushies are also amazing! And we were served complimentary samples of a wine and the slushies Ambiance is rustic and remote. Was a nice place to spend time with my partner and chat. Clarksburg and West Sacramento have become exceptional vineyards offering competitive wine tasting adventures; wines; culture comparable to Napa. It's just as beautiful, cultured. Heringer wine is without words boastfully full of excellent flavorful wines. The flights are reasonably priced so you can sit down get to know the wines. Here are my recommendations based on our flights: The best dessert wine I recommend the late harvest moscato Moving on to robust reds I recommend Grenache blend (my absolute fav) Tempranillo Petite Sirah With our wine we had a charcuterie board. All prices are reasonable. Great events are held here as well. A little history: Heringer Estates is a well established local winery for over 10 years producing certified sustainable wine. Listen in the 1970's they planted their first vineyard! Starting with Chenin Blanc. Morning on creating their first vintage in 2002. This is a must go to wine for all things wine! We had such a fun and relaxing tasting experience at the winery with our family with 2 children. We got a chacuterie board and kids got sparkling cider. We even got to take a fun walk at the back by the water on a trail. Outside there were guests enjoying a bottle of wine with lunch. This is one of my favorite wineries in clarksburg. I visited this past weekend and it was my 2nd time. All of their reds are good or at least decent which I don't always like at other wineries. The staff was very nice and we had one arrive later and they came back and helped us promptly. You can bring dogs, family and there is an inside and outside area. I love to the outdoor area as it looks out to the vineyards and a very cute barn. Their bathrooms are large for a winery and actually have full mirrors in them. We got a charcuterie board, hummus and crackers which is from a package, but still decent sized snack for a winery. We had someone with us that works in service industry which gave us our tastings free and discount on the other things! Definitely recommend checking them out! read more

Wonderful first visit. We were seated outdoors under one of the sprawling trees and enjoyed the laidback atmosphere. String lights connect the patio to the walls of the rustic modernized barn with large glass pane, giving the seating area quite the view. We had wine slushees which were phenomenal, highly recommended by several friends, made of a blend of wines the estate has on hand. We ordered a charcuterie board which came packaged with slices of salami, pepperoni, crackers, olives, chocolate covered raisins, and unfortunately only one type of cheese -- but still yummy. And then a flight of wines. The servers were super attentive without being pushy, and took the time to explain wine to our amateur level. Also on the estate is a beautiful nature walk. There's no definite "end" to it but it trails along the river and you get to see owl boxes and some nice riverbank foliage. Highly recommend an afternoon or lazy evening here! read more

This family owned winery has the best wine slashes. They also make delicious mulled wine for people to enjoy during the winter months. They have a beautiful tasting room located in a renovated barn on the vineyard grounds. The tasting room has plenty of seating both inside, which is actually a large room with walls that open up to the outside, as well a al fresco seating available on the deck and grounds surrounding the barn. seating deck. If you in the mood for a refreshing wine slushy you will not be disappointed with what Heringer has to offer. They are daaang good and make a refreshing finish to a long work week. Believe it or not, Heringer Estates was the first winery in the Clarksburg region to step outside the box and make their delicious kick ass slushies with their red table blend. Initially several of the local vintners turned a blind eye in despair at how their slushies "destroy the integrity of the wine". But truth be told most surrounding wineries are now making slushies with their own creative flair. The Heringer Mulled Wine is a family recipe concocted with natural dried herbs and spices and comes in a small natural fiber drawstring pouch with directions attached. I made it with their Aglianico red wine and is was delicious. As a side note...when making the mulled wine be mindful of how long your simmer as the alcohol will quickly cook off and you can end up with spiced grape juice. read more

This was such a fun experience! I had the sweet wine flight and it was great to get a sample of the wines that they had. The service was great and we were checked on in good intervals. We also enjoyed the snack options and I appreciated the fact that they had gluten free options as well. If you plan on going in the winter I would bring a jacket as it is partly outside. Lovely, lovely winery! Been here twice. It's a bring your own food winery. They have plenty of seating in and outside. The decor is somewhat country but very backyard home comfort kind of feeling. They have live music first and third Friday of the month during the summer months. Attended one last Friday and it was a lot of fun just chilling with some wine and music. My favorite wine of theirs is their Hitched; 50% Muscat and 50% Tempranillo. It's like a sweet moscato with a bubbly twist. They also have this wine slushy... yummy... be careful, it's good, and you will want more and more and before you know it... floor! After some food, wine, and music, if you would like to take a walk, they have a beautiful little trail in the back. Then come back and watch the sunset! This place is great for a nice little romantic date or a get together with some friends. Great for little celebrations too, like a birthday or bachelor/bachelorette. read more

Visited Heringer Estates on a Thursday and it was very lovely! Reservations are required! Call (916) 744-1919. Open Daily from 11 am to 5 pm. Setting: There's plenty of indoor and outdoor space with trees for shade. The view was also very nice and atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. We came on Thursday so there weren't too many customers and only one employee working (she was very nice!). We had kids with us so we sat outside and away from the crowd. Wine: Flight ($15). Per glass was $7-10 (more if you choose their expensive wines). Rustic Flatbread w/ jam ($6) was a box of crackers and tiny jar of jam. For the price, not complaining and that's what the kids wanted. Overall the wine was pretty good! Nothing beats a serene atmosphere while enjoying wine! Already planning our next trip back! read more

I follow their Instagram account and came across a post ( pictured ) of their Delta nights which are the first Friday and third Thursday of the month. I sent the post to my cousin and we both agreed we HAD to go. Located about 10 minutes past the Old Sugar Mill down a dirt road is Heringer. The grounds are stunning, especially in the evenings. They have plenty of seating and parking. During these events they have live music, wines by the glass and you can bring your own food to enjoy with your tastings. They have multiple people running the registers so you don't have to wait long. They also had wine slushies! They were delicious and 100% worth a try! read more

What a beautiful location to relax and enjoy the day with friends and family. I came out because a friend happened to be a wine club member, and I just might be joining soon myself! Their tasting room is a giant, modern-esque barn with ample outdoor and indoor seating. Fortunately they have the ability to open all three sides of the barn to the open air which means plenty of sheltered seating during the dark days of Purple Tier in Yolo County. As for the wines, I can honestly only say that I tried 4-- Their white flight of three and a sparkling rose. Two of the four were delightful (chenin blanc and sauvignon blanc). The sparkling chenin wasn't for me, nor was the much sweeter sparkling rose, but I'm sure they match someone else's palate. Next visit I will bring my family and sample the reds. The atmosphere of the place is so peaceful and relaxing. All afternoon we heard and saw hawks and falcons soaring through the trees. I was told they have quite the owl community living on the property and that there are walking trails to explore. Once a year they participate in an owl release with a local wildlife rehabilitation group. All cool things. But back to the basics--good wines, friendly staff and service, and beautiful location makes for one awesome winery to visit. read more

Really love the ambiance here. The barn and roll up garage doors give a really great indoor outdoor feel. Servers are all super nice and knowledgeable about explaining their wines and telling the story of the family and premise, which is always neat part of wine tasting experience. The place is small with lots of charm, which I prefer over bigger wine operations. They have different flight options, and start you off with a bubbly when they greet you, though I wish they would have told us it counts as one on the flight. Also the flights are in set groupings, you have to choose white or red, etc. can't mix and match, but they were kind enough to give you a splash if you want to try something from a different list if they have the bottle open. They do have some yummy cheese, crackers, and snacks for purchase and the price is very reasonable. Their wines are pretty good here. We really liked the Chardonnay, which is blend of oak and steel barrel, nice balance to not make it too oaky. They also have events and concerts here that look fun.
