First time in and we had the best experience! We didn't make reservations and it was a PACKED Saturday afternoon! We got a cute little area for two with the perfect photo op background. Lauren was pouring for us and she was absolutely wonderful. They were doing a wine and chocolate paining as well as a wine cheese pairing. I went with the cheese pairing and it was insanely good! Who doesn't love wine and cheese?! Lauren was excellent at explaining the wines as well as the pairings. We also got to meet Ken and talk wonderful stories with him which was so incredible and made our first visit so memorable. The last wine we were able to taste out of the barrel! That's some thing I had never done before and it was really exciting! I will definitely be back!

Stopped in here while at the Old Sugar Mill to partake in the wine and chocolate pairing. They change it for the season so these chocolates were fall inspired. We really enjoyed all the pairing and the bite of sweet and the super comfortable wing back chairs. Due Vigne had a lot of local wines that we hadn't tried before including a Vermintino. It was interesting to taste how the chocolate changes the flavor of the wine. I ended up really liking a few of the reds because of the pairing. We bought a few bottles here and had one of our tastings free. Great spot to try something new and fun!

A Wine Bonanza When Drinking Romanza! SITREP What's better than an empty old abandoned mill-building from years gone by? An empty old abandoned mill-building that is subsequently refurbished, beautified and the bustling hub of several winery tasting rooms, and attendant ancillary businesses & enterprises! :D And what a great wine stop in Clarksburg too! Our work-crew came to the Old Sugar Mill as part of a team-building excursion (since we got tired of work meetings during the week and decided we needed to PAR-TAY on the weekend together!). THE SETUP Due Vigne Winery ("Due Vigne") is one of several wineries that resides in the Old Sugar Mill and from my initial exploration of the Old Sugar Mill winery-residents, I'd have to say it's my favorite at this point. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/due-vigne-winery-clarksburg?select=PP12wC_TCdZffKzUg4VzTw * AMBIANCE & DECOR - the winery tasting-room is very beautiful and warmly-inviting with the decorations, featuring plenty of behind-counter room for staff to move around within! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/due-vigne-winery-clarksburg?select=Z_2VRAzVshzxRlJR_uhPCg * SPACE - and speaking of counters, there is so much counter-top space for everyone to come and taste which is a great advantage of this particular winery. With Due Vigne (to their credit), the average joe (ie. ME) wine-taster can walk in and get the same first class treatment as anybody else. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/due-vigne-winery-clarksburg?select=MTd99i8qPQQgD6glG9Exfw WINE CLUB MEMBERSHIP TOPIC I noticed from other stops at Heringer Wines, Todd Taylor and Elevation Ten, their focus - whether spoken or not - is on their Club Members, with the premium space and seating reserved for those individuals. * SEATING - However, THAT being said - and since we were party of eight (8) people - the good people at Due Vigne (Denisa & Beth) kindly sat us as at their wine club members' table anyways, JUST BECAUSE! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/due-vigne-winery-clarksburg?select=sMy6Qvx6uk_DXGEPTW0Gng * TOUR OF ITALY - Thus we got to enjoy a FABULOUS, personalized wine-tasting that comprised the full gamut of Due Vigne's "Tour of Italy" in a glass... https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/due-vigne-winery-clarksburg?select=5byJT-eMZOUBEuiMdnQwPw ...and comprised such delicious vintages such as *wa-la*... https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/due-vigne-winery-clarksburg?select=b-MROBsJsZk1Mrf8BoghcA .....we were totally digging the moment! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/due-vigne-winery-clarksburg?select=RPs4nwHcGREiGNTVxpBcGw ROMANZA What was delightful about our tasting this go-around was the OFF-menu items the docents let us try. At the top of this list was the Romanza blended wine which was a delicious smooth red that would be the perfect accompaniment to any Holiday meal. *SCORE* (my Thanksgiving dinner duty accomplished!) https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/due-vigne-winery-clarksburg?select=nB4aYL0bgOkF4xoJLPyOqw THE LOWDOWN Great winery! Great wines! Great wine tasting experience!

This place is located inside the sugar mill. They have wine and chocolate tasting here. The wines were not great but I loved the chocolates. They charge you $5 for tasting but the fee is waived if you purchase the bottle.

We spent a recent Saturday at the Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg. It is a great venue for wine tasting. There are over 10 wineries in one location to choose from. Tastings at each winery typically cost $10 for a selection of 5-6 wines. We tried a few of the wineries with mixed results. Our last stop was at Due Vigne Winery. They specialize in Italian style wines. I have been typically disappointed by California grown and produced Italian style wines. They miss capturing the true Italian styles. The Due Vigne wines were a very pleasant surprise. All the wines we tasted were excellent. We did learn that they grow and source their grapes at higher altitudes that more closely copy the conditions of the different wine regions in Italy. Shelly was a super host. My highest complements to their wine maker. By the end of the tasting we had joined their wine club.

Walk in entrance from last night event. If your a wine connoisseur. You can appreciate the display of wines it's all about presentation

Shoutout to the West Sacramento/ Clarksburg area…read more... The Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg is a historic beet sugar refinery from 1934-1993 that has wine shops and tasting rooms for local wineries. They have over a dozen wineries. Wine tastings average $15 and most wineries waive the fee if you buy a bottle. They have wine shops in the main building and in the other building. Don't forget to walk back and to the right to the shops in the separate back building, there is 3-4 more wineries. Each winery are literal walled shops with their own seating areas. Temperature controlled which is nice on hot summer days. Each have their own wine tasting, food offerings, and special events. Old Sugar Mill is less than 15 minute drive from downtown Sacramento. The buildings are beautiful. They kept the historic brick walls and exterior. It has a modern shabby chic look. Three different brands owned the refinery. It all began in 1934 with Amalgamated, American Crystal Sugar Factory (1936-1982), and Delta Sugar (1983-1993). The sugar was refined by local Northern Californian grown beets. The buildings was renovated in 2000 for its current use. Awesome concept and beautiful architecture design. They also host weddings and events. They have a banquet room with slideshow equipment. There is also an outdoor lawn and adjoining paved patio area that is shaded in the afternoon by the buildings that would make for a gorgeous wedding venue. On hot summer days, the Delta breeze kicks in for instant cool down. No outside food are picnics are allowed. On the weekends, they have food trucks. Plus the majority of the wineries sell food (appetizers) as well. Also no pets are allowed (excluding service animals). The restrooms are located right by the front entrance.

They have many events here, including private events and wedding. The upcoming event is Port and Chocolate for Valentine's Day. That sounds so delicious. I loved chocolate and my husband is always up to trying another port. Parking- They have a private lot and we were able to easily find a parking spot right in-front of the entrance. Bathrooms- They have many stalls in the bathroom located to the left of the entrance. Temperature- It's cool inside, a little too cool for us today. It was 63 degrees out today and warm in the sun. I bet in the sweltering heat of our summers this is the perfect place to be. The Sugar Mill is an indoor venue. They have three different building with different wineries at this time. So, there is a little walking outside. Wine Barrels- You can buy half wine barrels for your garden for sale. Seating- They have lots of little seating areas. Inside they have a whole room with seating and nice decor. The tables are draped in white table cloths and there are stacks of wine barrels as the back drop. They have a palm court in the back and it's so quaint and beautiful. Perfect for sipping some wine slowly and chit chatting with friends. If you are looking to sit in the sun there is are a set of tables and chairs out back near the food truck. Ambiance- I love the location and building. It's an old Sugar Mill that produced sugar from sugar beets. That industry has now ended and it's now a place to visit many wineries. It's the only place that I know of that have numerous wineries and offer wine tasing for a minimum fee.

We got married at Scribner Bend in May 2025 and it was a dream from start to finish!…read more Scribner Bend was the only venue we visited during our wedding planning process because we felt so pleased with the beauty, charm, pricing, and process they offered. We were especially pleased by how much was included in the venue package that we didn't have to coordinate separately, like lighting, tables, and chairs. Shaye was an absolute delight to work with and we always felt cared for. As a queer couple, it was so nice to feel welcomed and accepted by Scribner Bend and all of their preferred vendors we spoke with. May was the perfect time to be there, the white roses on the arches were in bloom which complemented the rest of our florals beautifully. Our whole day flowed so smoothly thanks to Deija, our day-of planner provided by Scribner Bend, and all of the rest of the staff. All of our guests were so complimentary of the wine, the setting, and the flow of the evening. We really could not have wished for a better venue experience. We also want to note, Paesanos was an exceptional caterer! I know some might be concerned with not having a choice of caterer but we found it to be a relief (one less vendor to coordinate) and Paesanos did a fantastic job. Rain was amazing at communication, and Diana was wonderful to work with on the day. They even packed up a couple of containers of leftovers for us to go home with. Thank you, Scribner Bend, for being an excellent venue!

And it is a source of great pride to find our local, Greater Sacramento-Delta Bogle wines when we travel outside of California or USA. In fact, we were thrilled to enjoy a bottle in Shanghai, China! But we had never been to the Bogle Family Ranch and Vineyards outside of Clarksburg, CA. We finally reserved a couple of hours to visit the winery - and can't say enough good things! We enjoyed several, terrific wines not available in our local stores - such as their delicious Sparkling Rose! But more importantly, experienced a lovely afternoon on the BEAUTIFUL Bogle Family Ranch grounds! Everything around us was green and gorgeous; with cool breezes due to the surrounding water of the Sacramento River. The picnic tables were warm and inviting. The snacks were great (we brought a picnic lunch). And EVERY employee with which we spoke was excited to educate and inspire us - taking great pride in Bogle Family's six generations of Delta farming; sincere commitment to sustainability and the community; and vision of how the family plans to continue the winery's growth and international expansion, while maintaining its commitment to winemaking excellence. Every staff member that we met had been Bogle employees for over 10 years at least (a couple over 30!). I think it really says a lot about a company and family when their employees promote and compliment - even when the bosses are not in the room! While we had originally planned just a one-time visit to the Bogle vineyards, we left as Bogle Family Wine Club Members. And look forward to attending many Bogle events (including live music and movie nights), in the upcoming year. Well done and thanks for a great day, Bogle Family!

The wine and property are lovely -- unfortunately the welcome at the door felt like an audition for "Most Judgmental Winery Greeter." When we walked in, the woman at the front greeted us with a slow head-to-toe scan before even saying hello. For context, we weren't exactly stumbling in from a river float -- Patagonia, designer black jeans, nice casual wine-country attire. My partner was dressed similarly. Completely normal for a winery visit. Since it was my first time there, I asked where we should go. She informed us -- while continuing the visual inspection -- that upstairs was reserved for more formally dressed guests with reservations. The upstairs area, by the way, was completely empty. She then told us we could "go help ourselves around the corner." The tone was less "welcome to wine country" and more "you appear to be beneath the staircase." Honestly, I've been to plenty of wineries, from casual tasting rooms to higher-end spots, and I've never been greeted with that level of instant judgment. It was oddly hostile for a place that literally sells a beverage meant for relaxing. The ironic part is that after getting past that moment, the rest of the experience was actually nice. The wine was good, the grounds are pretty, and the other staff we interacted with were perfectly pleasant. But that initial interaction? Brutal. If first impressions matter (and they do in hospitality), someone might want to let the front door know that sizing people up like a nightclub bouncer at 1am isn't exactly the warm, welcoming winery vibe most people are hoping for. Great wine. Beautiful place. One spectacularly toxic greeting.
