Sandwiches are huge!! And kind of hard to eat... but they are good! Loved the bread. We had to wait quite a long time to get our food. There weren't many people there but it looked like only 1 cook. I think the trick is to order ahead if you can!

Was staying nearby, walked over and got the Philly which was HUGE with tons of meat. Loved the bread and good quality meat with cheese. This ithe sandwich for meat lovers! The Hubbs loved it, I was missing the hot & sweat peppers. Small restaurant with outdoor seating when the weather is good and located in an older neighborhood from the 1930. Great neighborhood location where you can grab a drink some food and visit.

Wow! I can't believe we had never been here. Always heard good things and came for the first time today, and wow! The sandwiches are incredible. The ambience is nice, a little hectic but it seemed like they were much busier than usual. My partner and I are never ones to have leftovers, but trust the other reviewers! You can absolutely share one we were stuffed after the first half. We will be back with friends!

Amazing sandwiches, ambience, and friendly service. Everything is made in a small kitchen so it may take a while but it is so worth the wait! Go hungry because the portions are huge!

The Jeter. This sandwich was absolutely delicious! So big it barely fits in the to go box.

By a wide margin, these are the best sandwiches in town! And the guys behind the counter are the greatest! Friendly, professional, making killer sandwiches. If you haven't been here yet, you are missing out.

Wow! Hidden gem in Eugene. The place looked closed from the outside which I will attribute to the time of day and day of the week. The literal neighborhood bar, built in one of the older homes in an otherwise residential area. My nephew suggested this place recently and my husband and I were in town and decided to give them a try. I said the hubs as we were looking at the menu, "I feel like this might be the kind of place we should share a sandwich." To which he replied "I don't care, I'm ordering what I want" well okay then. So we did. Ordered a couple drinks, the jalapeño popper flat bread and the ham grinder and the club sandwich. The dude at the counter said he would bring us our drinks and told us there was seating out back if we wanted to sit outside. (You don't order at the table but at the bar and they bring you your stuff) The outdoor seating was pretty great really. A little oasis in the pit of Eugene (not a downtown fan), you could almost forget your in the middle of town. Quiet, a little water feature. It was nice. Let's talk about the food! The flatbread... I don't normally like jalapeño poppers but it looked so good I gave it a try. So Good! Ate three pieces. The sandos? Yep. Should have split them. The bread was so good, they were hot sandwiches and piled with groceries. I ate every bite of exactly one half a sandwich -- as did my husband. Decided I needed another beverage and went inside (tab was open) and the same guy explained that anything in the cooler (we were having an Avid Cider) we could just grab, he just needed to "pop the tab" - some might like this aspect, I thought it was great. We will definitely be back. There were other sandwiches and flatbreads we want to try. They were not cheap, but they gave you plenty of food.

    The Jeter. Gigantic.

Yelp to the rescue on our road trip. Stopped in Eugene for lunch and found Scribles. It's in a residential neighborhood and looks like a dive bar. It was busy when we arrived and there is a large menu of sandwiches salads and flatbreads to choose from. Both the Jeter sandwich, and the Cobb salad were good choices. The Jeter is a rarity, as it's so big I could only eat half. It's huge. Service was friendly and the place has a cool, laid back vibe. Worth a stop for lunch.

Sandwiches the size of a newborn baby, really delicious food, and a small town pub feel. There's a bit of a wait even when they're not busy because they make everything to order, but you'll need to be hungry anyway to even attempt these sandwiches. I love the hoagies - buttery and perfectly toasted.

Came here after a high recommendation, and it lived up to the hype. I'm going to have to go back and try several other things. SO GOOD.

I had just come from the eye doctor and my eyes were dilated, but I was hungry. I have been craving a Reuben sandwich for a while so I thought I would try Scribles. Wow , my Reuben was huge and I could only eat half of one! Not a standard Ruben but the hoagie bun was delicious, with lots of sauerkraut, corned beef, melted cheese and delicious mustard. The chefs take great care in preparing the quality ingredients. The server was spot on and answered all my questions. I will definitely be back when I am ravenous! The place is small and parking is a bit tricky. Worth the small inconvenience.

With that meal you will experience actual satisfaction and contentment. That's the first thing I have to say in case you're reading for a recommendation of what to order. Even better if you have it late night after experiencing the best Handel's Messiah concert at the Hult in December. I had a small slider of corned beef along with his amazing fresh Kale salad garnish with shaved Parmesan, walnuts, added protein -- sausage. It came with a toasted slice of soda bread that was great. But the slider was how I realized the corned beef was PERFECTLY prepared. A taste was not enough; I decided to get the dinner plate version to take the next day up to Seattle with me. Fantastic staff included Barkeep Illyia, whose birthday it was. She kept up a steady stream of attentive care, skillful service, friendly banter with each of the clients that came in and said good by to them as they left. Hospitality was her middle name. Love that they have mugs for the regulars hanging from the ceilings, the bar space is great but so are the arm chairs and cushioned seats in the corners of the pub. I even ran into two other concertgoers who had also been so energized after the Messiah concert that they didn't want to go home. We spent a half hour at the bar unpacking the highs and best points of the performance by the Eugene Symphony Orchestra, and the symphony choir, and each of the soloists. We also unanimously agreed the tenor was fantastic, the baritone a paragon of artistic talent, the soprano sang incandescently, and that the final AMEN movement was soul healing and mind blowing simultaneously. Yeah. It was that good. This place was the right place to come to unpack it all over a Guinness and the best corned beef and cabbage in town. Love that it was open late enough to enjoy after the concert. Will be back.

The profile looked pretty cool so we decided to go there for a drink. Once inside, it was pretty dark which is typical for a Tiki Bar. The decor was very good and there was a lot of it around. My fave was the mermaid skeleton above our seats. The drinks options were plentiful and they even had jello shots for a bargain price (we had a few of these for good measure!). I had The Monkey's Paw classic drink and another in our party had The Invisible Man drink. Each was lovingly prepared by the bartender who was super cool with the prep and conversations we had with him. I loved walking around and looking at all the decor on the walls and ceiling. There's a lot to see. There's even a door that leads to a courtyard with several food trucks ready to serve you. There is a stage near the entrance for bands and a small dance floor. I would love to return one evening to check out the atmosphere and do a little boogeying! Give this place a try. It's a well done Tiki Bar and one of the better ones I've been to.

He sorted me out pretty quickly and then I faced my next wonderful obstacle: an amazing concession stand with a very understanding vendor who had two different kinds of kombucha on tap, chilled brut rosé, several beers ranging from a Pilsner to a stout, several kinds of wine including Pinot noir and Cabernet Savignon, popcorn with real butter, frozen junior mints, whoppers, peanut M&Ms... everything good was there. Give yourself a few extra minutes to decide what you want to nosh on -- just don't pass up such a great selection. The movie was showing in theater B which was across the courtyard, really lovely few steps between buildings. The chairs were very comfortable inside theater to B and the drink holders wide enough to hold the mason jar that my kombucha came in. Yep a real glass -- none of the paper or plastic stuff -- love that. But maybe the best part was the audience who was clearly queuing to many of the lines and laughed at all the right places. The vibe was a lot like a familiarity that you encounter when you watch the Rocky horror picture show: lots of audience knowledge and appreciation expressed throughout the film, which made the movie even better. The Skybar is located on the 5th floor of the building along with the Hotel lobby... uh okay. The staff are all very pleasant and accommodating. We went to the SkyBar and found it to be a smallish yet convenient place to wait for guests or visitors along with getting a drink or a bite to eat. The bar looks like it can accommodate about 30 people in the interior. There is a nice outdoor patio that can easily accommodate more when the weather is nice. The barkeeper was very attentive and observant, he took our food and drink requests at the bar and in short order, everything was presented. I had a Moscow Mule that I found to be a refreshing drink. Ginger beer, lime and vodka. An excellent combination. I also had an order of the chicken wings and fries. The fries were a normal shoestring variety, cooked well, nicely salted and came in a metal bowl. The wings I found to be outstanding! I don't usually get wings this well made unless I do it myself. I received 8 wings coated with barbecue sauce on a charcuterie board with the fries. The wings were served nicely hot. The meat was piping hot, juicy and tender. The barbecue coating was a hearty middle of the road sauce, not sweet or too smoky. It was caramelized perfectly for that sticky texture and flavor. Definitely a nice coating. Thankfully the bartender brought us a lot of napkins. The wings and fries made for a satisfying meal. The bar boasts a couple of gas fireplaces that make for a warming environment with a few semi private tables. There is a longer table for a larger group as well as several smaller tables and a few bar stools for game watching. All in all we found the bar to be a cozy semi-private environment, yet available to the guests as they come and go. All around, a nice meeting area and watering hole.
