We got quotes from 5 companies and decided to go with Sun Block because they suggested we go with a cantilevered pergola (amazing) and Alex was great to work with. They handled the permitting process, which took the longest (~2 months) and once that was ready, the installation took two weeks. Alex, Frank and his crew were great - efficient and friendly and left the yard very tidy every night. Everyone is very communicative, which was great and we love our pergola!

Grade A++++++++++ Alex, Frank and team are a dream come true for a home project. I interviewed many contractors so I could feel comfortable with my decision and Alex stroke the perfect balance of knowledge, professionalism and accuracy in his initial quotes. His final offer, timeliness, contract and drawings were extremely professional and clear. He wasn't the cheapest nor the most expensive as I didn't want to deal with designers, engineers and additional contractors for the finished product as other large companies do it. It was also important to me that the firm had good communication and ideally Alex on site every day. Alex didn't disappoint rather he met all those hopes I had and more. Frank leads a very good group of contractors who completed the job in about 6 days with extreme attention, clean areas at the end of every day, very friendly and knowledgeable. They engaged very nicely for questions or additional products i wanted installed. The quality of their work and the quality of the material from Four Seasons made it all a perfect combo. If you're considering an insulated patio cover in the OC area do NOT hire anyone but Alex's company. PS the skylights are amazing. My old patio cover had filtered light thru the wood slats and the skylights bring that also minus the dust and rain We had a rain recently and the gutters were lovely one on each side. We've owned our home for 5 years and have done a lot of projects, from a full pool build to smaller repairs, so I've worked with plenty of contractors. Because of that, my expectations are high. We decided to go with Juan and Raul for our patio, and I'm really glad we did. Their team showed up not just on time, but early on the day of demo and installation. They worked efficiently and completed everything in just one day, which honestly exceeded our expectations. What I appreciated most was how easy it was to communicate with both Juan and Raul. They were responsive, patient with my questions, and very open to making adjustments to fit exactly what we wanted. I never felt brushed off or rushed, which is rare. The workmanship turned out clean and solid. The structure feels sturdy, everything looks well-aligned, and the finish came out exactly how we envisioned. So far we're really happy with everything.... now we'll see how it holds up once we get some rain I'll follow-up with some pictures.

However, the way this company has handled a clear mistake is extremely disappointing. During installation, their team drilled into the tile on our second-floor balcony and failed to seal the holes. When it rained shortly after, water came through those openings and caused damage to the ceiling in our dining room below. This was entirely preventable and directly tied to the installation. What's more concerning is what happened next. I've spent weeks trying to get this resolved. I've been in contact with their employee (Elizabeth), who acknowledged the issue and repeatedly said it would be taken care of. Despite those assurances, there has been zero follow-through. Communication has been inconsistent at best, and more recently I've been completely ignored. At this point, the issue is no longer just the damage; it's the lack of accountability. Mistakes happen. Ignoring a customer after causing property damage is a much bigger problem. If you're considering this company, just be aware: the install may go well, but if something goes wrong, you may be on your own. I'm still hoping they step up and resolve this properly, but based on my experience so far, I would proceed with caution.

Eric came to our house for the estimate meeting, went over the types of materials he uses, did measurements, calculated pricing, took his time to explain what next steps would look like, and didn't put any pressure to move forward which was nice. On demo day and install day (2 days total), his team showed up on time, wore construction vests, were extremely professional, and made sure everything was cleaned up after they left. We can tell Eric and his team take a lot of pride in their work and customer satisfaction is very important to him. We highly recommend Paradise patio!!!!

We recently had an amazing experience with Where Shade Is Made in Anaheim and I wanted to share…read more A couple of years ago we had awnings installed by another company. During the recent windstorm we forgot to retract the awning and it was damaged. I first called the original installer, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. The first thing they told us was that the damage wouldn't be covered because we didn't retract it during the wind storm, and the customer service was extremely rude. It also reminded me how difficult it was working with them in the first place, they gave us the runaround for almost 6 months before the original installation. After that, I reached out to Where Shade Is Made, and the difference was night and day. I spoke directly with the owner, who assured me I would get a call Monday morning to schedule the repair. Sure enough, Monday morning I received a call from Jimmy their GM, and from that point on everything was smooth and professional. By the very next day our shade was repaired and working perfectly again. Even better, Jimmy let us know that the repair didn't require as much work as originally expected, which actually made the final cost lower than the quote. That kind of honesty and customer service is rare these days. Thank you Where Shade Is Made for the amazing service. I truly appreciate the professionalism and quick turnaround. I would absolutely recommend them to all my friends and family.

The technician (I'm sorry, I missed his name) was great! Friendly, knowledgeable, and 100% prepared with the appropriate parts and tools. Although the price was higher than I expected, the service was faultless! He installed new, stainless-steel rollers in place of the old, broken plastic ones and replaced rusted, broken screws on the frame. He also aligned the door, cleaned the track, and showed me the proper lubricant to keep things moving. He was also great with our two dear dogs, and they liked him just fine. The end result is a door that moves with a two finger glide instead of two-armed shoving. Tigerdog sez: slide 'em!

It was time to replace it with something sturdier and less likely to warp, shrink, fade. I did a lot of research on what materilas would best hold up to the brutal So Cal summers we have. I also had to keep within the Architectural guidelines of our HOA for fences. I found a company in Orange, CA, called SoCal Gates. I established contact with the owner, Ray, who is a really knowledgeable and personable guy to work with. We scheduled an appointment for him to come to our home to show us color samples of the composite material we would choose for him to use in our steel framed gate. Ray arrived, and had us look at the different colored composite samples while he took his measurements. He then went over with us the color choices and which ones would intergrate best with our home's exterior colors, including the tiled roof and front entry door and garage door. He explained how he visualized the gate would look, once mounted. We agreed on the materials and and the price. He mentioned that his installation pricing included the removal of the gate from the cinder block wall it was attached to, but did not include the removal of the old fence post or the haul away fo the old fence. After hiring another fence company to remove the fence post, back fill with concrete and haul away all of the old fence, Ray told he would've done it had I specifically asked him, for an extra charge. In fact, he told me how to remove the old post myself, so that gave me the impression he would prefer to just to install the gate with the old fence gone and the area prepped for his installation. After the HOA approved my gate plan, It only took a few weeks for Ray to build our gate and to schedule a date and time for the installation. On the day of the installation, I watched Ray assemble and install my agte, He is meticulous and thoughtful throughout his installation process. He showed me how to change out the composite planks if I ever needed to, and how to program our electronic lockest. We are very happy with out new sturdy, side gate. I would recommend anyone needing a new steel framed gate with composite planking to contact Ray.

They were using a metal pole to support the fence, so they said they would split the cost with me and we could possibly have their brother or their brother's contact fix my fence. I gave my phone number to that neighbor, and never heard from them again. I had two estimates one from legacy and another from a Huntington Beach based Fence Company. They had completely different quotes. I ended up going with legacy, because they were better communicators than their pricing was much more affordable. The gentleman who fixed the fence spoke little English and mostly Spanish. We were able to make it work and I am happy with the result.
