Extremely happy with my new Milgard windows and especially with California Window and Solar! I had 3 windows, 1 slider and 1 garden window replaced. Very pleased that I upgraded the screens to the Pureview mesh which per the brochure "allows for clearer views and better particle protection". I would break it down as the following: Competence - Justin, Miles and Nate were great! Within 1 day all the windows were in place, including the challenging garden window. Josh came out for an assist with the garden window and 4 smart brains collaborated and showed great teamwork in getting it in place just right (no small feat!). Cleanliness - Tarps were laid throughout the house to keep the debris to a minimum. Any extra debris was swept up inside and out including in the street. Integrity - Justin pointed out that he noticed some etching on one of the windows. He indicated they would reach out to Milgard to get it replaced. It could have been so easy for them to simply leave and hope we didn't notice, but they did not. Class act! read more

It was time to replace our super old aluminum windows so we turned to Yelp for help. We had a good idea that we wanted Milgard for their amazing warranty, so we reached out to California Wind & Solar. They invited us to their showroom where we were able to see, touch and feel the various options. Then we scheduled Dallas to come out and measure and provide a quote. We were pleasantly surprised by how how reasonable the quote was. The windows are made to order so we had a bit of a wait for them to come in. When they did they scheduled our install. I can't say enough about how professional this crew was. in a day and half they had our entire house done. They weren't happy about how the new slider door's screen fit and said they wanted to replace it. The issue was so minor, but they are perfectionists. They ordered a new one and two weeks later sent out one of their pros to replace it. We LOVE our new windows and are so pleased with California Wind & Solar for making them a reality. read more

We just replaced all of the windows in our home (20 windows!!). Everyone at CA Window and Solar were professional and very friendly. Windows are a big investment, and we just were not sure if we were ready to take the plunge. Dallas was easy to work with and had no problem with doing our windows in multiple phases. As soon as we finished phase 1 (all of our south facing windows) we immedialty ordered the windows for the rest of the house. Yesterday we finished phase 2 and my neighbors have stopped me on the street to tell me how great the windows look! I needed 8 windows replaced in my home and after 6 frustrating weeks of dealing with flaky, overpriced contractors I finally found California Window and Solar. I started my search by getting referrals from the window department at Ganahl Lumber. The problem with this approach was that less than half of the contractors that came out to look at the job ever bothered to send me their promised quote, and if they did, they were too expensive and overly complicated. Then I got smart and went on the Milgard Window website. That's how I found California Window and Solar, what a difference! Their sales consultant, Dallas Conkle, came out, looked at the job and assured me that the installation would not be complicated, unusual or difficult for them. Everything they did was completely professional in every aspect, including a bit of finish carpentry work around the interior of my kitchen window, exterior wood trim around several other windows and exterior stucco work also around the kitchen window. UPDATE: California Window & Solar just did another wonderful job for us. Justin was back leading his team. This time they replaced a back garage utility door that had been destroyed by termites. To my relief, just like in the previous job, they did not damage the stucco or foam trim. They also replaced a leaky, inoperable double hung bathroom window. Once again their work was meticulous. They protected the wood and tile floors and left our home spotless. Dallas did another great job measuring and handling the proposals and contract. The office staff was awesome again too. The phone contact person was personable and efficient.....she set an appointment for Jeff Conkle to visit, measure and provide an estimate. Jeff showed up on time, and did a very professional presentation and measurement of our windows. I had the estimate early the next day, and we were sold. The installation team showed up on time and did a great job of installation. When they were finished, I wanted the 2 slider screen doors to slide more easily. They were able to fix that for us right away. In fact, a year later, we needed to go ahead and replace the last 2 windows and I called to schedule with Jeff again - and just like the previous time, everything went like clockwork. Clear sailing from start to finish! We're one of those homeowners who 'generally' go by word of mouth rather than just online reviews when looking for a contracted service. The one exception is Yelp where I feel you're going to get as close to an objective review online as is possible. We used both in finding our window/door replacement company. In finally redoing the bulk of our windows and major door leading outside in our two story home in Mission Viejo, several of our neighbors up and down the street had used California Window and Solar and were very happy with them. I checked out Yelp and found almost all reviews to be extremely positive so I gave them a call. Dallas, one of the family of owners (great guy) came out promptly and gave us a no pressure presentation along with suggestions we hadn't thought of which we worked into the final proposal. We can't comment on how competitive they were (price wise) because the final 'out the door bottom line price' he gave us was very fair to our way of thinking, verifying what others have said in terms of them being reasonable and especially compared to what I was expecting. In other words, our search stopped then and there and we signed the contract. Again, no pressure whatsoever. Now, as to installation. Keep in mind, your windows and doors are custom made and aren't necessarily going to be ready in a week, however, as with all good things, they're worth waiting for. Dallas came out a couple of weeks ago to give me a quote on some Milgard windows. He was early, but waited in his truck until the appointment time so as not to disturb me. He took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly and he was obviously very knowledgeable about the product and the process. He got me the quote the very next day and he answered my emailed questions and quote changes within a few hours. I was absolutely impressed by his professionalism and I really wanted to work with his company, however, I also really wanted the Anlin Del Mar windows and wound up going with another company that installs them. We recently had 3 Windows and a Slider door replaced by CW&S, it was nothing but extreme professionalism from the start. Dallas came out and gave us an estimate, came back a second time as we were going to add more windows to the initial estimate.
