Those scones have been invading my dreams! Just before Thanksgiving, my wife and I have a ritual. We jump on the Port Jeff Ferry (Yes, I'm from New York) have breakfast at Cracker Barrel and spend the day in Connecticut. We have a few favorite spots but this year we took a chance on Scratch Baking in Milford. What a find! First off, Milford is a very cute town. To have this wonderful bakery in the middle of it all puts the icing on the cake. (See what I did there?) Walking up, the line is out the door. People are getting their Saturday morning coffee and Thanksgiving baked goods. We get to the counter and I order a box of assorted scones, a Tres Leche Coffee, a bag of home made granola and a cranberry nut rye bread. I was served quickly and we're on our way. Sunday morning, I served the scones. Everyone flipped! So moist and flavorful, they were a homerun hit. Me? I'm thinking ahead. Thanksgiving arrives and everyone comes over. The only thing I'm thinking of is getting all the dishes in the dishwasher and saying goodbye to my guests. Now I'm alone with the Turkey. I toast two pieces of my cranberry nut rye bread. I layer some cranberry, stuffing, turkey and homemade gravy to create my annual Thanksgiving sandwich. This ritual is on repeat for a few days. Scratch Baking? I cannot wait to return.

I'm not sure if this is mentioned in the reviews, it's probably something I missed... but there is NO SEATING. This place is strictly a 1. You place an order and pick it up OR 2. You order in person, wait for it, and leave. I wasn't expecting that, I wanted some place to hunker down and work so that's on me. But since I was already there I decided to try one of the lattes, a breakfast sandwich, and the brownie of the week- which I thought was cute! Everything impressive! The breakfast sandwich was filling and delicious. The latte wasn't too sweet, it was very smooth. The brownie admittedly was a little too sweet for me, so it lasted me a while because after a few bites my sweet tooth was satisfied. Everything was fresh and amazing! If I'm in the area again I'll certainly stop by.

Tasty bagel ordered with butter (barely visible and def not enough to taste.

After seeing a TikTok video that suggested scratch was really a great place to go, I went again, for the third time. I walked in to one person taking orders with another 10 working in the kitchen, many not supporting customers. There were 11 people waiting for the orders with a few employees fulfilling the orders. I ordered a cappuccino, a bagel with butter (where is the butter) and. Blueberry muffin. It took 11 minutes to get my order. The bagel was delicious, chewy, soft and tasty. The butter was barely visible and certainly not tastable The cappuccino was fine. I paid $14 which was fair The muffin crumbled into 50 pieces which is a product of over mixing and likely over baking. I'd come back for a bagel, not a muffin. The main issue i have with this bakery is that the staff isn't customer focused. They're laughing and having a great time when they should be taking and executing orders. Dunkin isn't the greatest but they do focus on customer service. Restaurant 101. Scratch could do much better It looks like a great place to work but not so great for customers.

I'm such a fan of this bakery. I've been 4 times since I discovered this place last month. They have some delicious muffins - I'm a fan of the blueberry and mixed berry/zucchini muffins. The zucchini bread is also incredible! They have an array of breads that are great too and I'm grateful that the staff are willing to slice their loaves for customers. I'll certainly be back!

This is by far the best coffee shop in Milford! We tried both hot and iced coffee, as well as, the breakfast pizza and chocolate croissants. Everything was delicious, the service was fantastic and even with a line out the door at 7 am I was in and out in no time.

Service was effective. They have online order available too! But it was my first time here so I wanted to see the bakery products! The egg and cheese sandwich of the day was delicious!!! Bread is definitely freshly baked!! Rye with seeds, chewy and yummy! Cranberry lemon muffin was so good!!! Not too sweet! Moist and tasty! Monkey bread was one of the best!!! Chocolate muffin was really good too! Love the cute logo and the exterior door! Ambiance inside feels a bit dark, menu on the wall wasn't easy to read. There are seatings outside but nothing inside.

The lady who greeted me was super friendly. Their menu includes hot and cold sandwiches, breakfast, and Italian meals. I enjoyed my grilled chicken Philly. Sandwiches can come as a roll or a sub. The bread was very fresh and soft. Mike's is located in a small plaza just off the Boston Post Road.

"Spread your wings for New Orleans Kentucky bluebird, fly…read moreaway And take a message to Michael" (Dionne Warwick) Quite a few of Mike's Yelp reviews mention their fantastic customer service, and that claim was proven the minute we crossed the threshold into their deli. We were greeted by a big smiling face that seemed genuinely happy to see us, and made us feel at ease as if we were long lost relatives. What a welcoming experience for our first time here. Mike's is an old school Italian deli, with quite a few breakfast specials that are incredibly priced. For example, how about an egg on a roll for $3.25 or hash browns for a buck? Hell, the most expensive breakfast item on their entire menu is $9.50 for three eggs, home fries, toast and breakfast meat! After breakfast, you can function on lunch because Mike's offers plenty of hot and cold sandwiches, hot and cold sides, paninis, salads, soups and Italian lunches and dinners. The most expensive thing on the entire menu is a Chicken Parmigiano dinner for $15.95. We ordered some food to go, and we walked out with a bag and box of food for $34.24 after tax. Our order included a Ham and Cheese on a roll ($9.25), Ziti with Chicken Parmigiano Lunch ($10.95), fresh Garden Salad ($9.95), and two chocolate chip cookies ($2). As we were waiting for the food, we witnessed a parade of lunch customers coming in for their to-go orders. Many of the customers were obvious regulars and they were addressed by name by the staff. That was pretty cool to see. We split the sandwich for lunch, and it was a very good sandwich with plenty of high-quality deli ham and cheese, fresh lettuce and tomatoes and onions, and a very fresh hard roll. For dinner, we attacked the salad, chicken parm and ziti, and a hunk of fresh buttered Italian bread that came with the chicken and ziti. The salad was excellent, with plenty of fresh lettuce, grape tomatoes, halved cucumber slices, black olives, and cheddar cheese shreds. The chicken parm/ziti lunch was a pretty good portion that we easily split. Ziti, sauce, cubed breaded chicken cutlets, all with a blanket of marinara sauce and cheese. We had it for dinner and it was very good, as was the Italian bread that came with it. The proverbial icing on the cake wasn't a cake at all, but two chocolate chip cookies, made fresh every morning by Mike himself. What a sweet way to finish off our wonderful experience with Mike's Italian Deli & Grill. This was an easy FIVE STAR review for customer service, value, variety, and product quality.
