We were on vacation at the beach and were craving ice cream, so we drove into town and found this very cute ice cream shop. The handcrafted ice cream was some of the best I've ever had! My husband had a scoop of the salted caramel (which he loved), and I had the cannolli ice cream, which was fabulous! The service was good too. I would have given a 5 star review had we not gotten locked inside the shop, all by ourselves (no employees in sight). The employee went outside to water the flowers, & the door closed & locked her out. She was very sweet & apologized. read more

I highly recommend this place. It's in downtown Milford at the green. It's so clean inside and really cool. Service is really nice. You can park near Colony Pizza if you have a car. You can try different flavors. Their most popular flavors are cannoli and Cookie Monster. Cookie Monster is vanilla dyed blue with bits of cookie. They have frozen ices and ice cream sandwiches. This place just opened in downtown a few weeks ago. On a super hot day, this Italian ice hit the spot. I loved how they were allowing samples of their different flavors which allowed me to make an informed decision on what to order. I went with one of their most popular flavors, watermelon which wasn't to sweet. The staff was super friendly and helpful in the ordering process. Price for a small was less than a small Ice cream and didn't feel heavy after a large lunch. They offer a combination of ice cream and Italian ice called the American Dream. Love their Italian ice. The flavors are amazing and quality is consistent. I have been going to The Micalizzi Bridgeport location since I was a little kid and thought for certain the quality or consistency may lack at the new location but that is not the case. All of the loved flavors are available and just as good as ever. Nice treat for everyone and especially good for non dairy sweet treat lovers. The location is close to the Milford green which makes it convenient to take a mini walk and enjoy your ice cream or Italian ice. I will be coming for years to come. read more

Love that Micalizzi's is now in Milford! Right downtown where the old subway was. Staff are super friendly and the Italian ice is so good! They have ice cream too, but I go here strictly for the Italian ice. It's been great having it this summer. It's cool and refreshing and light. My go to flavors are pineapple and rainbow. You can also mix up flavors as well! They don't have the pineapple ice often and we love it so much that we were able to order a special party gallon of our favorite pineapple ice. Great for parties! Hmm parking is a PAIN but it's located downtown with limited parking. Their ice cream is ok, the cannoli ice cream is pretty good but has lots of cannoli flavor so just know that. I liked it for exactly that reason.There's a ton of flavors of Italian ice. My boyfriend always gets the Cookie Monster ice cream here. I'd say their scoops are modest. Also, for a new business I'd like to see the staff be a little bit more inviting and friendly. I don't think I even saw any smiles or anything. I mean this place is brand new and the owner should want to impress at least a little bit!! The line moves soo slow because people take forever to pick their flavors and the place is kinda small, I suggest that they somehow try to post their flavors outside so that when people come in they somewhat know what they want already. Excellent Italian ice--the texture is what makes it amazing. My favorites are lemon, lime and orange. Their homemade ice cream is top-notch. Their cannoli ice cream is amazing because the bits of cannoli somehow stay crispy with tiny chocolate chips. They rotate in a daily special till it sells out, and if you are lucky enough to be there when they offer the Amaretto Toasted Almond, it is a must-get--has pieces of lady fingers in it so almost like a toasted almond tiramisu. They offer American Beauties which are half ice cream--e.g., orange ice with vanilla tastes like a creamsicle. My son likes root beer Italian ice with vanilla tastes like a float. They also freshly bake cookies for ice cream sandwiches. Enjoy. Best of luck in Milford! Hope it becomes an institution like it's bigger mama/papa location in Bridgeport.
