Best way to end the weekend is with ice cream that is of high quality and extremely affordable! Thank you to the kind staff who were patient and willing to give many samples! Make sure you go before they close for the season, I have to go back and get a couple pints

Delicious ice cream. Prices are better than most other places. Service was friendly and quick. Beautiful neighborhood to walk around in eating delicious ice cream.

A Food Blogger I know from Southern CT recently declared Walnut Beach Ice Cream the best ice cream in CT. I was familiar with WB at that time, and I had heard good things, but I had not previously heard somebody call WB a best in CT contender. Since so many of the great CT ice cream spots originate in the Upper 2/3 of CT, I questioned whether the Blogger had been to enough of the top places to declare a best. Nonetheless, I made a mental note to visit when I was in Milford. That day has now come, and I can say, even after having eaten at most of the best loved CT ice shops, Walnut Beach Creamery belongs in the discussion for best ice cream in CT. I went with a large ice cream order, which gets you 4 scoops of different ice cream for a bit over $6. My 4 flavors were S'mores, Salty Dog, Grapenuts and Berry Good. The texture was great. Very smooth and velvety. I got some stretch as I spooned some bites. And for an ice cream with great texture, the flavors really popped too. It's rare to get both ideal texture and flavor. The chocolate base in the Salty Dog was rich. It also had good salted caramel flavor. The S'mores had a graham base, chocolate pieces and mini marshmallows that were tender. The marshmallows almost seemed room temperature, which doesn't seem possible. Berry Good had fresh berry flavor and huge, mutant, dark chocolate chunks. Grapenuts had a honey vanilla base and butterscotch flavor. I was very impressed with all four flavors. The shop was cute and near the beach. Service was friendly and efficient. I'm a big fan Walnut Beach fan. It belongs in discussions for best ice cream in CT. 5 Stars

Cute ice cream shop by Walnut Beach. They have really cool ice cream flavors that change around. Service was fast and good. It's also close to Silver Sands State Park. The carrot cake ice cream was delicious.

I visited here for the Halloween free ice cream promotion with the full intent to purchase pup cups for the dogs. I was shocked when those were included in the promotion too! The ice cream was homemade and delicious and there was a cute little seating area behind. The staff managed the line amazingly and moved super quick while keeping a friendly smile the whole time. Kudos! My local spot recently closed so I will definitely bring family and friends here to support this great community favorite. My only complaint is it is hidden!

Walnut Beach Creamery - super cute ice cream place, walking distance from the beach. Love this quaint shop, and even the limited seating is adorable. As someone who LOVES ice cream, I was in heaven with the flavor I chose, Salted Dog. This was a rich chocolate ice cream with salted caramel pieces in it. Seriously creamy, decadently thick, and positively delicious. The teenagers working were very helpful and dedicated to helping each customer. The spoons seem a little too flat to really scoop the ice cream out of the bowl, but the cones also looked delicious. I may have to try a cone next time. We will definitely visit when we are in the area again!

Cute ice cream shop near Walnut Beach! I enjoy their ice cream and always look forward to it.

What a cute spot with an extensive ice cream list - wow. Friendly people working here. There's a back patio seating area, which is cute, but it doesn't have much sun cover. A lot of customers mingle in the front, which can get crowded but also good for people watching. My cucumber melon was refreshing though more true to the melon than the cucumber. I'd really try any of these flavors next time!

I brought my granddaughter to Walnut Beach Creamery for the first time this week. We really enjoyed the ice cream. In fact, my granddaughter said it was the best ice cream she has ever had. The girls working could have been a little nicer but it was busy and there were only two people working so they were quite backed up.

Walnut Beach Creamery is a gourmet creamery that opened in Milford, Connecticut in 2007. It was founded by former CNN producer Susan Patrick. After Patrick's fourth and youngest child started kindergarten, she decided that she wanted to work again, but not back to the grind of a newsroom. Instead the old Walnut Beach Post Office went on the market and Patrick jumped at the chance to purchase it with the intention of turning it into an ice cream shop. She also bought an ice cream maker and began experimenting with a menu of different flavors. Today the creamery is the only one in Milford to offer home-made ice cream, with flavors featuring local honey and fresh Milford farm ingredients. In addition to creating delicious handmade ice cream, Patrick is also credited for the Walnut Beach neighborhood's renaissance into Milford's art district. My family and I have been visiting Walnut Beach Creamery for years. The Walnut Beach neighborhood is a lovely arts district that we enjoy visiting for various events, and it's namesake beach is our favorite beach to visit in the summertime. A visit to Walnut Beach in the summertime is incomplete without a stop at the creamery. We recently visited the ice cream shop on July 31st. This date is the birthday of the famous literary character Harry Potter. The creamery encouraged customers to dress in costume, there was a trivia contest, and there were also special themed Harry Potter flavors created for the event. My wife ordered "Butterbeer" (Butterscotch Schnapps ice cream with butterscotch candies), our son had "Ravenclaw Cookie Monster" (Blue vanilla ice cream with chocolate sandwich cookies), and I had "Hufflepuff Lemon Drop" (Lemon ice cream with Lemon Drop candies). Patrick created some excellent flavors to celebrate the event... not that we were surprised. We look forward to tasting what she'll think up next!

My friend and I stopped by for a quick ice cream before watching the sunset at the beach. I thought it was really convenient that they had the takeout window outside for people coming and going quickly like us, which also helps to not have a crowd inside. They had a unique list of flavors, and I was really excited to have the bananas foster. I was super impressed that it tasted fresh and not artificial in the least! Reasonable prices too. I will absolutely be back when I'm in the area!

Definitely one of the most flavorful ice cream shops I've had in a while. Service is great, place is spotless, prices reasonable and flavors are yummy. We tried the NY NY (unique twist of chocolate mint) , walnut beach had a great chocolate base, coffee (seriously strong flavor!!), and a peanut butter honey Graham one (cant recall the name but it was my favvvvv!) We are not often in this area, but this is definitely a reason to come back!

Our favorite ice cream shop in Milford! Only disappointment was in the waffle cone... it was not crunchy and broke apart too easily. Flavors were great... we are appreciative of all of the samples we were able to try before we ordered!

It's very spacious and has an older kind of setting. They also offer a lot of outdoor seating. Nice decorum. It''s also located downtown so you can just walk to the park or sit in front of the waterfall if you don't wanna dine in. Food [5/5]: I got the cuban tacos and they were extremely delicious I'd come back for these again. Their entire menu sounds delicious to be honest so I'd like to try more things from there. But the tacos were very filling and the potatoes on the side were a great add on. The wrap itself was sweet and tasty. Service [5/5]: There was a lot of college kids in there and they're honestly running it well. The adults are probably in the kitchen but they're very friendly and I had the woman with the sleeve tattoo as my server and she recommended the cuban tacos. Fast and friendly service is always great I was in there for no longer than 30 minutes. Loved it. Overall I'd recommend! Theres no parking since it's downtown so you'll have to hope you can find street parking or park your car somewhere else and walk like I did. But it's in a great location! great food! and even greater service! I loved it!
